Well organized atmosphere
Today the arlberger Musikfest is one of the region’s
biggest events and of course the programme contains
numerous brass music highlights. This year the town’s
traditional band and Lech’s fire brigade have invited a
truly impressive list of musicians and bands to the great
party tent on Schlosskopfplatz. The programme will
start with a ‘prelude’ on Friday night and end with
a celebratory mass, ‘Frühschoppen’ and the great
pageant on Sunday, which will bring the atmosphere in
Lech to a peak! at 2 pm, when 1,500 musicians march
through town together, the love for culture and tradition
on both sides of the arlberg will be plainly visible to the
numerous spectators. and for the great finish the
popular ‘Hattinger Buam’ and the virtuosos from the
Tyrolean band ‘Viera Blech’ will once more offer the
spectators finest brass music.
Not just a feast for the ears
of course at a proper traditional celebration, the guest’s
appetite cannot be ignored. The event’s chairman,
Stefan Jochum, who already played an active part in
the arlberger Musikfest in his youth, promises numerous
traditional delicacies: ‘Grilled chickens are a must in
our party tent and apart from that our guests can choose
from a wide choice of culinary delights.’ Traditionally
the ‘Weinlaube’ (wine pavilion) where great first-class
wines are served is a popular meeting place. ‘Lecher
Festwein’ – Lech’s very own celebratory vintage which is
bottled just for the occasion – is a tasty accompaniment
during the musical performances. Well then – ‘Cheers!’
