Climate<br />

Auckland enjoys a warm coastal<br />

climate. The average daily<br />

temperature during the months of<br />

January and February is 23°C (74<br />

Fahrenheit). During the months of<br />

July and August the average daily<br />

maximum is 14°C (57 Fahrenheit).<br />

Driving<br />

Most rental car companies will ask for<br />

an international drivers licence. You<br />

must be over 21 years. Drive on the<br />

left side of the road.<br />

Tipping And Service Charges<br />

Tipping is not expected but is<br />

becoming more common for extra<br />

special service or kindness.<br />

Goods And Services Tax (Gst)<br />

New Zealand has a 15% Goods and<br />

Services Tax (GST). Overseas visitors<br />

cannot claim this back. Some stores<br />

may export your purchases for you to<br />

make them GST exempt.<br />

Banking<br />

Bank hours are 9am to 4.30pm from<br />

Monday to Friday. Some banks are<br />

open on Saturday and Sunday.<br />

required. Public and private hospitals<br />

provide a high standard of treatment<br />

and care. Medical services are not<br />

free to visitors so health insurance is<br />
