Ph.D Programme The Institute is a recognised centre for pursuing Research leading to Ph.D. in the areas of Information Technology and Management Studies. IDRBT started this Collaborative Research Fellow Programme with reputed Universities/Institutes from the academic year 1999- 2000. The Research Fellows work at the Institute on projects related to Banking Technology, specifically in the focal Research areas of the Institute and simultaneously get registered for the Ph.D Programme of the University/Institute after fulfilling their respective admission requirements. M.Tech. in Information Technology IDRBT offers a unique two-year M.Tech in Information Technology (with specialisation in Banking Technology and Information Security) in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad. The programme derives its strength from the fact that the Banking Industry is becoming increasingly dependent on Information Technology to retain its competitiveness and adapt to the ever-evolving business environment. The course is designed to impart in-depth knowledge and expertise to the students through innovative learning, supported by high calibre research and technology leadership. This multi-disciplinary programme merges the new and emerging Information Technologies with the domain expertise in the evolving field of Banking and Financial Services. The curriculum, spread over four semesters, consists of courses on Core Computer Science, Banking Technology and Information Security, which provide a right mix of various aspects of Computer and Information Security, and a year-long Project. Admissions to the M.Tech are made on an all-India basis in order of merit in the nationwide entrance examination. THE FIRST STEP: The Inaugural Batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Banking Technology Management Post Graduate Programme in Banking Technology Management The Post Graduate Programme in Banking Technology Management (PGPBTM) is a fast-track Programme designed to provide to the Banking and Financial Sector in India, regularly, a pool of talented professionals with technology expertise and managerial excellence to strongly support the technology deployment initiatives from key managerial positions in senior and top management levels. This one-year programme provides essential learning inputs on technology implementation, integration and management to the candidates to help them meet the changing requirements of the Sector. The focus of the programme is more on Management Issues and Concepts involved in Implementing Technology than on the core Technology Issues themselves. The PGPBTM is envisaged to produce all-round professionals of the highest-calibre on par with the products of the Best Business Schools in India and abroad. Admissions to the course are based on CAT/ATMA scores, group discussions and interview.
Executive Development Programmes The Institute conducts short-term programmes frequently for the top-level executives and professionals from Banks, Financial Institutions, IT Institutes, etc. These programmes are aimed at providing specialised exposure and training in various areas of immediate relevance to the Banking and Financial Industry such as Payment Systems, Security Technologies, Smart Cards, Cyber Crimes, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Emerging Trends in Banking Technology, Information System Audit, E-Learning, Software Engineering, Decision Support Technologies, Open Source Technologies and Internet Banking. Extensive hands-on experience is an integral part of these programmes. The Institute also conducts customised programmes to meet the specific needs of individual banks and financial institutions. Facilities The Institute has in place excellent infrastructural facilities and labs equipped with the most modern systems to aid high quality Research and Development and to provide the right ambience for Academic and Executive Development Programmes. These facilities are being constantly upgraded with the latest systems, devices and tools to keep pace with the ever-changing technology trends. Presently, the Institute has a Security Technology Lab, Network Lab, Business Intelligence Lab, E-Check Lab, Linux Lab, Multimedia Lab, and two Computer TECH-KNOWLEDGE FIRST: Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam scans a book at the IDRBT Library Labs for focused research, development and training. The Institute also has a fully computerised Library, which has a carefully chosen collection of very rich and valuable resources focusing on technology and management. The IDRBT campus consists of an Academic Block, an Executive Facility Centre equipped with a state-ofthe-art gymnasium and an Executive Development Centre. A landscape garden with a wide variety of flower plants and fountains lends a touch of tranquility and natural splendour to the campus. The Smart Card Enabled Access Control Mechanism, which regulates entry, exit and movement within the Institute helps provide a conducive atmosphere for Research and Academics.
