School of Business and Public
Administration anticipates
new facility
The School of Business and Public
Administration is currently located
at the Intelsat Building, 3400
International Drive NW, just across
the street from the University’s Van
Ness campus. We’re enjoying our
second year at Intelsat, yet our
thoughts are on the remodeling
efforts going on in Building 52.
We anticipate the refurbished
building to be a state-of-the-art,
business school facility for students,
faculty and staff when it becomes
fully operational in 2010.
Business school’s new faculty and staff
Charlie E. Mahone Jr., PhD, dean of
the School of Business and Public
Administration, has shown that he has
a commitment for excellence. He has
charged the faculty to increase their
pursuit for research and publishing
opportunities; encouraged the alumni
affairs liaison to reclaim, engage and
improve alumni relations activities; and
hired new staff, including Dr. Chigbo
Ofong, associate dean of academics;
new assistant dean for student services,
Ann-Marie Waterman; Dr. Minnette
Bumpus, professsor of management;
Dr. Nikolai Ostapenko, professor of
marketing; and Dr. Thiehong (Ann)
Wang, professor of finance.
