SAE Hamburg´s renovated MIDI Studio - hands on!
Presentation of Final Films in the Zeise Cinema
On November 25 th , 2008, in the well-known Zeise Cinema, the SAE Institute
Hamburg again showed films made by the graduating Digital Film &
Animation students. For two hours, the full house of more than 100 visitors
including families, friends and alumni enjoyed big screen presentations of
the best works produced during the course.

SAE Hamburg now has its own video channel on youtube.com. Under the
URL www.youtube.com/user/SAEhamburg, film students’ finals projects
can be viewed in HD quality. The technical work involved in making the films
testifies to the high qualifications the students carry with them into their
future profession.
Studio Renovations
The MIDI 1 and MIDI 2 audio studios were completely redesigned and
upgraded with a high-performance Apple 2.8 GHz quad core Mac Pro and
connected to a one-gigabyte network. Three of the specially equipped cut
studios in the Film Department were also redesigned and equipped with
2.8 GHz quad core Intel xeon processors. In addition, 4 workstations in the
Film Department were equipped with 24“ iMacs. These new work places will
make work on complex projects much easier for the students.
Hearsafe Seminar
Eckhard Beste from Hearsafe visited us on December 12 th , 2008 and held a
seminar on the theme of hearing and hearing protection. There was also the
opportunity to have ear molds made and to get a discount on high-quality,
custom-fitted hearing protectors. Good hearing is the main capital of every
audio engineer, so this type of protection is particularly important for dayto-day
work.
New digital single Lens Reflex Camera for the Students
Since September, SAE Institute Hamburg students have had the opportunity
to gain practical experience with a new digital single lens reflex camera.
On the 10 th of September 2008, Nils Häussler from the Olympus camera
company held a workshop introducing the SLR E520 with all of its functions
and possibilities. Since then, the Olympus has enjoyed great popularity.
SAE Students are getting ever younger // SAE Studenten werden immer jünger
The demand for training and study opportunities in the area of media
continues unabated. Ever more young people want to work in this creative
and future-oriented branch. SAE Institute is addressing this development
by reducing the age of admission for all courses of study from 18 to 16.

Vorführung der Abschlussfilme im Zeise Kino
Am 25.11.2008 zeigte das SAE Institute Hamburg im bekannten Hamburger
Zeise Kino wieder Filme der frisch gebackenen Digital Film & Animation
Absolventen. Im voll besetzten Saal konnten über 100 Besucher, darunter
Familien, Freunde und Alumni, zwei Stunden lang die besten Werke der
Studienzeit auf großer Leinwand genießen.

SAE Hamburg hat nun einen eigenen Videochannel auf youtube.com. Unter
der URL www.youtube.com/user/SAEhamburg können Abschlussprojekte
der Filmstudenten in HD-qualität geschaut werden. Die technische
Realisierung der Filme zeigt die hohe qualifikation der Studenten für den
späteren Berufseinstieg.
Studioumbauten
Die Audiostudios MIDI 1 und MIDI 2 wurden komplett neu konzipiert
und mit jeweils einem leistungsstarken Apple 2,8 Ghz quadcore Mac Pro
aufgerüstet sowie an ein Gigabit Netzwerk angebunden. Drei der speziell
ausgerüsteten Cut-Studios im Filmbereich wurden ebenfalls neu gestaltet
und mit 2,8 Ghz quadcore Intel xeon Rechnern ausgestattet. Weiterhin wurden
4 Workstations des Filmbereichs mit 24“ iMacs ausgestattet. Durch die
neuen Arbeitsplätze wird unseren Studenten das Arbeiten an komplexen
Projekten stark vereinfacht.
Hearsafe Seminar
Am Mittwoch, den 03.12.2008 besuchte uns Eckehard Beste von Hearsafe
und hielt ein Seminar über das Thema Gehör und Gehörschutz. Anschließend
gab es die Möglichkeit, Ohrabdrücke machen zu lassen, um zu vergünstigten
Konditionen einen hochqualitativen ohrangepassten Gehörschütz
zu erhalten. Da das Gehör das Kapital eines jeden Audio Engineers darstellt,
ist dieser Schutz für den Berufsalltag besonders wichtig.
Neue digitale Spiegelreflexkamera für Studenten
Seit September haben Studenten des SAE Institute Hamburg die Möglichkeit,
mit einer neuen digitalen Cam Praxiserfahrung zu sammeln. Am 10.09.2008
hielt Nils Häussler, Mitarbeiter der Firma Olympus, einen Workshop, in dem
die SLR E520 mit all ihren Funktionen und Möglichkeiten vorgestellt wurde.
Die Olympus erfreut sich seitdem größter Beliebtheit.
Die Nachfrage nach Ausbildungs- und Studienplätzen im Medienbereich
ist nach wie vor ungebrochen. Immer mehr junge Menschen wollen
in dieser kreativen und zukunftsträchtigen Branche arbeiten. Dieser
Entwicklung trägt SAE Institute Rechnung, indem es das Eintrittsalter für
alle Studiengänge von 18 auf 16 Jahre reduziert.
