Editorial license & new members<br />
Well as our President stated earlier, the colder weather is certainly<br />
rolling in on us all. Welcome to the winter edition of <strong>Star</strong> <strong>Torque</strong> and<br />
may I extend a warm welcome to all our new Club members.<br />
As you have more than likely already read we have focused on yet another<br />
Classic model in this issue of the magazine, the W113 “Pagoda” SL. I<br />
hope that we have made the owners of these particular vehicles proud, by<br />
providing a little bit of information about them and their wonderful cars.<br />
As the owner of a R107, I know that I was very happy to see my car pictured<br />
in the magazine some years ago and did not hesitate to show members and<br />
friends these photos. This is the next SL to feature in <strong>Star</strong> <strong>Torque</strong> and would<br />
like members of these fine vehicles to come forward and provide us with a<br />
brief story and some high resolution pictures please.<br />
We are always looking at content for the magazine and at times have found<br />
it difficult to source. I am certain that you would like to have your car (or<br />
cars) pictured in our magazine. All you need to do is get an article together<br />
with a few good quality photos and hey presto it is that easy. Well may be<br />
not that easy, but if you would like a hand to get it happening, give me a call<br />
and I will work with you to get your story in print.<br />
Event articles. If you have attended a recent Club event, or another Car<br />
Club event that you think is worth mentioning, please let’s hear from you.<br />
You never know you could be the next Club journalist, so give it a go.<br />
At the recent National Rally, the Presidents all agreed to share technical<br />
knowledge on repairs and know how etc. This was a great idea and will<br />
benefit members who do fiddly repairs themselves. We will endeavour<br />
to filter these articles through in new issues of the magazines and tuition<br />
videos on the website. So if you have an article that may be of assistance to<br />
other like minder tinkers, of the Mercedes-Benz following, share the joy and<br />
spread your knowledge. I will also arrange for these to be distributed to the<br />
other states and across Australia.<br />
It has not always been easy to get this magazine out, but I have had some<br />
very dedicated people to support each issue. Thank you once again to each<br />
and every one of them, it has been a team effort, so well done team.<br />
This will be my last <strong>Star</strong> <strong>Torque</strong> magazine in the role of Editor, as I have a<br />
business to run and have to allocate more time to my work commitments.<br />
In particular, A.King is in the same position as me with high workload<br />
commitments, so we urgently need a graphic layout person or small layout<br />
team capable of using the InDesign software to continue this magazine - so<br />
please volunteer and contact me as soon as possible.<br />
My full support will be given to Club members wishing to take on this<br />
responsible position of Editor and other who wish to provide articles and so<br />
on, in the short term. Please contact me as soon as possible about the editor<br />
and layout positions as the future of the magazine is in question if nobody<br />
steps up to help the Club with this great publication.<br />
