asked to incorporate both decorative and functional elements to create a space that is

WATER FEATURES
Every water feature we install is unique and custom suited to your property. Our water
features are low maintenance, automated and built to last. There are a variety of styles
and preferences we can design into your custom water feature, including:
• Waterfalls, streams
• Pond or pondless designs
• Koi habitiats
• Wetland ecosystem filtration
Underwater lighting (one of the greatest accessories you could ever add to your
feature)
Maintenance is important, and we want your pond to look great for years to come. Like
any pool or hot tub, any water feature needs TLC from time to time. We offer regular
pond cleaning and maintenance services, repairs, and also general improvements or
rebuilds if your current water feature is operating below expectations.
There is nothing more soothing or relaxing than the sound of a gentle waterfall or
fountain. Often our water features will include natural or custom stonework depending
on the individual tastes of the homeowner.

RETAINING WALLS
Only a certified master retaining wall installer like the Cavalry is able to design and
install a retention system that is both aesthetically pleasing and secure. The Cavalry
Construction Group has completed extensive training in all aspects of the design and
installation of retaining walls.
Our real-world experience includes:
• Residential land reclamation
• Residential landscape terracing
• Road construction
• New subdivisions and land development.
• Replacement of failing and aging timber retaining walls
• Working on job sites with extremely challenging terrain and difficult access
• Engineered retaining walls (Seismic requirements)
Note: Did you know that retaining walls over 1.2 meters (4 feet tall) will always require
Geotechnical Engineering, without exception? In some municipalities, even walls as low
as 0.9 meters (3 feet tall) can require engineering.
The installation of a retention system requires an experienced professional, by using a
less experienced or unknown contractor you run the risk of major damage.

EARTHQUAKE TESTED
Our walls pass all tests and inspections, even when they come as a surprise. Our most
surprising experience was during the final inspection of a 20-foot tall, 400 foot long
retaining wall in Bothell, Washington, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake lasting 45 seconds
shook us, our wall, and the head engineer of Snohomish County.
We could actually see the road ripple and move in front of us. The wall was also moving
with the ground. The fact that the wall system is flexible to ground movement was
never more apparent or successfully demonstrated. Needless to say, a large earthquake
is a perfect test of the durability and quality of our installations.
The result: The wall remained intact, did not shift or settle in any way, and we passed
the inspection with flying colors (of course!).

PATIOS, WALKWAYS & DRIVEWAYS
The Cavalry takes great pride in our paving stone installations. Patios, walkways and
driveways can be enhanced by the unlimited color, style and pattern options available
with paving stones.
Are you tired of watching concrete crack? Do you have weeds growing between your
paving stones? The Cavalry Construction Group offers the advantages of solid concrete
with the flexibility of paving stones, without the weeds or other concerns.
We guarantee our work to be the most durable of paving stone installations. Any
concrete, asphalt, or paving stone installation will move with the natural settlement
of the ground by disruption by tree roots. In 10 years, instead of replacing a cracked
driveway, or attempting to patch concrete that usually results in obvious and ugly
scars, we will be able to lift and reset the original surface. Repairing any issue without a
significant change in the appearance of the area.
ADVANTAGES OF PAVING STONES
In addition to the limitless colour and texture combinations available, pavers can
be used from the moment the installation is complete. No need to wait for curing or
cooling. In addition, pavers provide firm non-slip footing even on pool decks or steep
driveways.
The main advantage of pavers is that any future alterations, additions or repairs can
be done in small sections, instead of having to re-do an entire concrete surface. Paving
stones are advantageous when installed correctly, be sure to use an experienced

NATURAL STONE & MASONRY FEATURES
There is something rustic and unique about natural stone that makes it a favourite for
luxury custom homes. Natural stone and masonry features are one-of-a-kind and can
be incorporated into many areas of your property.
In addition to patios, stairs and walls, we are relied upon to think creatively with our
stone features. We enjoy the challenge of creating something from nothing, and employ
experienced masons and stoneworkers to ensure that our designs are both aesthetically
appealing and useful.
Natural stone is useful for enhancing your garden by providing elevations and contours.
It is also low maintenance and provides natural character that is unavailable in other
building materials.
Masonry features are extremely versatile and can be molded into almost any shape
and design. When considering masonry features, it is critically important that you use
an experienced and knowledgeable contractor. The climate in B.C. can be damaging to
some masonry features if they are not built with longevity in mind.

The Cavalry has extensive experience in the construction of elegant custom fences,
arbors and pergolas; along with the design and installation of sturdy and finely finished
hardwood, composite and cedar decks. We also engineer and install glass topped
pergolas to protect you and your patio furnishings as you use them year-round.
We have extensive experience with both simple and elaborate designs. One thing
remains constant with all of our woodwork; we build strong, straight and solid features
