In 2012 the Guatemalan Guatemalan government began implementing the Pacto Hambre Cero (Zero 

Hunger Pact) project. Chronic malnutrition affects more than a million children in rural Guatemala and 

this project seeks to attack it on multiple fronts, one of which is rural income development. Within rural 

income development, traditional crafts opportunities were explored & 32 indigenous Maya-Mam women 

in Concepción were identified because of a high level of child malnutrition in their community, but also 

because their craft was undervalued at local markets.

Casa Relief works directly with individual artisans, families & cooperatives 

from around the world. We work with our artisan 

partners to develop products for the Canadian market while striving 

to preserve traditional and cultural techniques through practices & 

principles of fair trade. 

Chic Made Consciously 

Chic Made Consciously was created with high consideration for 

people and the planet. Our model ensures we provide fair wages to 

our workers in Bali, zero exploitation and safe working conditions. 

We are conscious of our impact on the planet and use repurposed 

tire inner tubes to reduce the amount of tires that end up in landfills. 

We strive to promote sustainable fashion, while educating people to 

consider the story behind the label. 

Fair Trade Toronto 

Fair Trade Toronto is an independent, volunteer based organization. 

They promote Fair Trade in the City of Toronto and unify the Fair 

Trade community in the GTA to increase public awareness. They 

are also part of a greater Fair Trade organization (Fair Trade Canada) 

that allows them to connect with the national and international 

community. 

GROSCHE 

GROSCHE International Inc. is a Canadian corporation and social 

enterprise located in Cambridge, Ontario. They fund development 

and poverty reduction projects with sales from their coffee, tea, 

water, and kitchenware line. For every GROSCHE product sold, they 

create five or more days of safe drinking water for someone in need. 

GROSCHE is a certified B Corporation. What’s more, GROSCHE has 

been carbon neutral since 2012 and is very active volunteering 

within their community. 


Joggo 

Born from a simple dream to give back, Joggo is our Journey to Greater 

Good. Joggo bags are thoughtfully designed with a unique blend of 

functionality and style, helping better people’s lives at every step. 

With each fair trade certified stitch in our partner’s women run co-op 

factory, Joggo is giving back to educate refugee kids in different parts 

of the world. With the purchase of each bag, Joggo gives displaced 

children an opportunity to continue their education, empowering 

them to ultimately start their own journey to greater good. 

ROOTA 

Rising Out Of The Ashes (ROOTA) is a Non-profit Organization whose 

mission is to raise the social, educational, economical and health 

standards of marginalized groups in Egypt. With their present 

focus on the Zabaleen of the Mokattam Mountain in Cairo, ROOTA’s 

mission is to support the APE (Association for the Protection of the 

Environment) run health and education programs for the Zabaleen 

women and children in Egypt. 

Senteurs D’Angkor 

Senteurs d’Angkor Cambodia employs 110 people and provide regular 

work to another 100 people, mostly women from the rural area. 10% 

of the workshop staff are handicapped, and all benefit from good 

work condition. Senteurs d’Angkor prides itself on sourcing all of its 

products in Cambodia, from our raw ingredients to our packaging 

materials, most of our packaging comes from the sugar palm tree, an 

abundant, natural and recyclable resource. 

TALIS 

Talis offers ethically sourced silk and silver accessories, hand crafted 

in cooperatives in Cambodia and Thailand. Our artisan groups are 

generally individuals who have been rescued from the garment 

factory industry, are disabled, or come from backgrounds where 

poverty has limited their opportunities.

She Sells Sanctuary is a Fair Trade vending business supporting 

marginalised artisans in Nepal (80%), India and Tibet (20%) partnering 

with ethically sourced grassroots charities, NGOs and women’s 

groups that are fighting ‘The Good Fight’. They are each making a 

significant direct contribution towards a better, kinder, saner world 

by assisting in the following sectors: Eradicating Sexual trafficking, 

Poverty Reduction, Education, Women’s Rights, Supporting Tibetan 

Refugees.

Unikati & Co. 

Our social enterprise is an online marketplace of ethically produced 

jewelry and accessories, handcrafted by fairly paid artisans around 

the world. Most are women living in rural areas who are able to 

work from home and care for their families. Each purchase provides 

dignified work and meaningful income, empowering them to rise 

above poverty. Many of the artisans use the extra income to send their 

children to school, often for the first time in their generation. Each 

unikati & co piece has a special story of a previously disadvantaged 

artisan, many of which are survivors of HIV, sexual slavery, human 

trafficking, genocide or conflict. 

Wakami Canada 

Wakami was established in 2006 by Kiej de los Bosques, a social 

enterprise in Guatemala with the mission of generating income in 

disconnected rural communities. Wakami is a socially conscious 

brand that designs handmade fashion accessories. We aim to enrich 

the lives of both the artisans who create Wakami products and those 

who buy them, inspiring them to do what they love most. Through 

our entrepreneurial driven model, artisans are able to empower 

themselves and become leaders of change in their communities. 

Woven by WAnder 

Living a nomadic life but also carrying an ethical conscience, Woven 

by Wander offers items that are all ethically sourced and work 

collaboratively with various artisans & fair trade organizations to help 

marginalized individuals find a happier life.
