SALT DOUGH HAND
ORNAMENT

1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup plain flour
1/4 cup water
Knead until dough forms.
Roll or flatten with hand.
Make an impression and cut out
hand shape with a knife, leaving
a border.
Poke a hole at the top for
hanging.
Bake at 100C for 3 hours.
Allow to cool and paint , add

Christmas Cooking
WHITE CHRISTMAS
2 cups Rice Bubbles
1 cup mixed fruit
¾ cup icing sugar
1 cup coconut
1 cup powdered milk
250g Copha
1 tsp vanilla.
1. Mix all dry ingredients in
a large bowl.
2. Melt Copha in a
saucepan.
3. Add to bowl and stir to
combine.
4. Pour mixture into a
paper­lined tray.
5. Chill in the refrigerator
and cut into squares
APRICOT BALLS
1 packet apricots
2 cups desiccated coconut
1 cup icing sugar
2/3 cup condensed milk
1. Finely chop apricots.
2. Place all ingredients in
bowl.
3. Mix with wooden spoon.
4. Roll into balls and toss
in coconut.
5. Chill in the refrigerator.

RUM BALLS
8 crushed Weetbix
1 tin condensed milk
2 tablespoon coconut
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup mixed fruit
2 tablespoons rum essence
1. Mix all dry ingredients in a
large bowl.
2. Place in refrigerator for 20
minutes
3. Add rum essence and knead
through with hands.
4. Roll into balls and toss in
coconut.
5. Place in the refrigerator.
COCONUT ICE
500g icing sugar
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
1 egg white
3 tablespoons condensed milk
1 cup desiccated coconut
Pink food colouring
1. Sift icing sugar and cream of tartar into a mixing bowl.
2. Make a well in centre.
3. Lightly beat the egg white and add to bowl with
condensed milk.
4. Stir in half the coconut. Add the other half and knead to
combine.
5. Divide mixture in half. Tint one half pink with food dye.
6. Press the pink half over base of a paper­lined tray. Top
with the white half and press down lightly.
7. Chill in the refrigerator and cut into squares.
