Claudia Cleven Claudia is studying medi -
cine in Romania and would one day like to
combine her job with her hobbies by joining
‘Médecins Sans Frontières’. She wants to
see the world, but not just in three weeks.
Claudia is passionate about getting to know
new people and the simplicity of the out -
door life.
Ana Trnkoczy Ana comes from Slovenia
and is something of a multi-talented indi -
vidual. She progressed from kayaking and
cycling to climbing and ultimately triathlon.
After completing a degree in sports science,
it quickly became clear that she was not cut
out for a desk job. She now works as a kayak
instructor in the Soča Valley, where she is a
member of the local mountain rescue team.
Jana & Jens Steingässer Jens (photo -
grapher and photojournalist) and Jana (eth -
nol ogist and children’s author) are pas sion -
ate about hiking and canoeing and travel
with their four children to the four corners
of the world. They want to show them firsthand
what nature has to offer and how our
actions affect the environment.
Sondre Beck Sletten Sondre founded his
own company, the ‘Arctic Outdoor Guiding
Company’ and is now living the dream. He
lives in Tromsø , the perfect location for out -
door enthusiasts, and has mountains, fjords,
rivers and lakes all on his doorstep. Sondre
has been heli-skiing in Greenland and dog
sledding across the Arctic tundra.
Andreas Gassner As a ski instructor and
as pirant mountain guide Andi lives and
breathes the mountains – climbing, moun -
taineering, mountain biking and skiing. His
greatest experience to date? A skiing trip to
Chile, hopping from one volcano to the next
and cruising down the long runs from the
summits.
Tine Cuder When you consider the list of
sum mits that Slovenian-born Tine has climbed,
it’s hard to believe that he describes his job as
“sheep and goat farmer”. However, he is also
an alpinist, mountain guide and member of
the Slovenian mountain rescue team. Tine is
currently planning to climb some nice routes
in the Himalayas and to add a few 8000metre
summits to his list.
Matt Sharman Matt is certainly at home in
extreme environments. He lives in the English
Lake District, works as an expedition leader
and is passionate about climbing and moun -
taineering. As a cameraman and assistant
pro ducer, he works primarily for devel op -
ment pro jects in Africa. In his spare time he
also works as a Funk & Soul DJ.
Dieter Glogowski Our close partnership
with Dieter has existed for over 25 years. A
TV/photojournalist and founder of the Weit -
sicht Festival in Frankfurt, his travels fre quent ly
take him to the Himalayas. Many of his im pres -
sive photos have already appeared in our cata -
logues and his extensive experience has directly
influenced our product development.

Olav Schmitt Olav may be a scientist at
the Technical University of Munich, but he
certainly gets to spend plenty of time out -
doors – as an instructor for outdoor trainers,
a climbing instructor and an outdoor edu ca -
tionalist. Olav is into mountain biking, cy cling,
climbing, bouldering and skiing (cross-coun -
try and ski touring).

Jörg Orlowski Jörg is professionally “At
Home Outdoors” – he’s a tour operator for
outdoor and adventure sports holidays and
often accompanies trips as a tour escort, ski
instructor or tour guide. He’s tried his hand
at numerous different sports but is adamant
that skiing is still his favourite.
Arved Fuchs We’ve been working closely
together with Arved for over twelve years.
As a polar explorer and climate researcher he
relies on our equipment on his expe di tions.
Arved is the first person to have reached both
the North and South Pole on foot in one year.
On his expeditions Arved travels by ski, dog
sled and his sailing boat, the Dagmar Aaen.

Stuart Holmes Stuart lists climbing, para -
gliding, ski-mountaineering and fell running
as his favourite sports. For many years he
worked as an exploration geologist and is
now an outdoor photographer and tour
guide. Whilst in Nepal, Stuart climbed Ama
Dablam in just two days before speed flying
back to base camp.
Silvia Furtwängler Silvia started dog
sled racing in 1985 and the sport has been
an important part of her life ever since. She
says that she is fascinated by working with
the dogs and the challenges posed by the
forces of nature. Silvia lives with her family
and 44 sled dogs on a little farm near Lake
Møsvatn in Telemark, Norway.
Alex Munteanu Alex grew up in Sweden
and studied medicine in Romania, the land of
his forefathers. He loves physical chal lenges,
in particular snowboarding, climbing, diving
and mountain biking.
