As a member ong>ofong> the SADC Double Troika, South Africa is actively engaged in drafting the positionong>ofong> the SADC on the future ong>ofong> the ACP as well as the recommendations ong>ofong> the Eminent Persons Group in this regard. Ministerial Double Troika meetings are being held in Swaziland ong>toong> approve the Region’s inputs that will then be presented ong>toong> the ACP Council ong>ofong> Ministers. The African Union has also been activated ong>toong> collectively consider and discuss this report and be fully engaged in this process and we would hope that it will be afforded an opportunity ong>toong> make its contribution and play its role in determining the future ong>ofong> the ACP. We look forward ong>toong> the upcoming ACP Council ong>ofong> Ministers scheduled for 28 – 29 November2016, seriously and genuinely ong>toong> take song>toong>ck ong>ofong> the national, sub-regional and regional consultations undertaken thus far, and agree on the best way forward. We should endeavor ong>toong> listen ong>toong> every viewpoint, consider every in detail and in good faith every proposal made, and galvanize consensus on all the issues before us as we move forward.
