<strong>Jonathan</strong> <strong>Allsopp</strong> is <strong>Organ</strong> Scholar at Westminster Cathedral, where he<br />

regularly plays for services, works with the world-renowned cathedral choir<br />

and trains the probationer choristers. He recently graduated with first-class<br />

honours in Music from Durham University, where he was also <strong>Organ</strong> Scholar<br />

at Durham Cathedral under the direction of James Lancelot. At Durham<br />

Cathedral, he regularly accompanied the cathedral choir in the daily services,<br />

trained the choristers and probationers, and performed with the choir on tour<br />

in Germany. In 2015, he was also acting Assistant <strong>Organ</strong>ist for a term. Before<br />

this he was <strong>Organ</strong> Scholar at Hereford Cathedral, working with the cathedral<br />

choir and taking part in the Three Choirs Festival in Worcester.<br />

For two years he was Director of Music at Hatfield College, Durham,<br />

conducting the chapel choir in their weekly services, and taking them on tour<br />

to Germany, Canada and the USA. In 2015 he founded the Dunelm Consort<br />

and Players, a Durham-based ensemble dedicated to early music. With them<br />

he conducted a wide range of music from early English polyphony to Bach’s St<br />

John Passion.<br />

<strong>Jonathan</strong> has performed widely as a soloist, having performed recitals at<br />

many cathedrals and churches across the country, and in recent years has<br />

developed an interest in contemporary organ music, and enjoys working with<br />

composers and premiering new works, including recent works by Francis<br />

Jackson and David Loxley-Blount. <strong>Jonathan</strong> began the organ with Ronny<br />

Krippner, and currently studies with Tom Bell. He became an Associate of the<br />

Royal College of <strong>Organ</strong>ists in 2014, winning the top prize for paperwork.<br />
