The Lady Rocks Basketball Club are proud to support our
friends at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity again for season
2019/2020!
Once again this season we will be running our #PlasterItPurple
appeal, raising funds through key Lady Rocks home matches
for the Charity. Our next #PlasterItPurple weekend will take
place 14th-16th February when the Lady Rocks play host to
City of Edinburgh Kool Kats at Senior, U18 and U16 level!
Help us to pack the house, bring the noise and raise funds for

“This season has gone very well to date and the team are
continuing to progress. We lost 5 players who took us to
the league and playoff double last season, so replacing this
was always going to be a test. Rona Lightbody returned
from London, in addition to new signings Kat Kirsop, Kerri
Marshall, Annie McNeely and Kat Smith, has helped to
establish a squad of 11 senior players, rounded off with
players from ou U18 squad.
We now face the run in to the end of the season with some
tough match ups. This is
what we train all year for.
The chance to compete in
big games and to try and
play to our potential is a
great position to be in. We
have a good blend of youth
and experience and it is a
pleasure to coaches these
players!
All I ask of our fans is to
keep supporting us in the
way you have done every
game, it can be tough be

The Lady Rocks Basketball Club, or as we were formerly
known, St Maurice’s Basketball Club, was formed in 2005 by
Lisa Palombo and the late Jim Lay. The club later entered the
Scottish RAF National League in 2006. The club competed
initially under the name of St Maurice’s JRW Gladiators,
followed by Glasgow Rocks and now Lady Rocks!
Lady Rocks cater for girls aged 10 through to Senior Women
(18+) and compete in the Scottish Basketball Championship, a
basketballscotland governed league. The Lady Rocks train and
compete out of St Maurice’s High School, Cumbernauld.
