Abstract<br />
This bachelor project is based upon my internship at Daka Proteins.<br />
The project deals with the company’s water-‐cooling system, which is an important part of<br />
the many processes in the production. Daka Proteins has a high interest in the effectiveness<br />
of energy. The main objective is to expose the amount of heat waste converted within the<br />
water-‐cooling system and to discuss the different ways of handling this.<br />
To achieve the objective, the analysis is based upon the collected data of the flow and the<br />
temperatures of a weeks’ production. It has been calculated with the raw materials that<br />
have been processed in that period. There are aspects that influenced the results, for<br />
example: uncertainties according to the raw materials’ consistency in relation to their<br />
contents of water.<br />
A sizable amount of heat waste is found based on the analysis that is a dealing part of the<br />
discussion. Focus is centred on responsibilities towards the charges surrounding heat waste<br />
usage. The objective of this report is creating a foundation for possible further analysis of<br />
the water-‐cooling systems’ heat waste regarding saving initiatives.<br />
