Befolkningsundersøgelser (Herlev/Østerbroundersøgelsen

og Østerbroundersøgelsen) og case-controlstudier

af biokemiske markører, geners og enkeltmutationers

betydning for udvikling af multifaktorielle befolkningssygdomme.

Udvikling og evaluering af laboratoriemetoder såsom

DNA isolation, gentest, DNA sekventering og mutationsscreening.

Udvikling, evaluering og indførelse af metoder og

instrumenter til point-of-care testing.

Forskningsaktiviteter

Klinisk molekylærbiologi, molekylærgenetisk diagnostik

og genetisk epidemiologi med særligt fokus på

hyperlipidæmi, lipoproteiner, atherosclerose, cancer,

iskæmisk hjertesygdom, apopleksi, trombose, Alzheimers

sygdom, astma, kronisk obstruktiv lungesygdom,

diabetes mellitus og hypertension.
