140 years of Askania and 90 years of the AVUS
This is a very special year for us and all Askanians, as the
seemingly forgotten brand is now almost as alive as it always
has been. It can again be seen in the cinema and in television
features on the wrists of stars and celebrities, in restaurants,
on aeroplanes – Askania timepieces can even be found in
the most remote corners of the world. Made in Germany, or
rather made in Berlin.
With unstinting effort, my whole team has succeeded in awakening
emotions and fascination in this fantastic brand and
winning people over for a product
whose birthplace was once located
in the heart of Berlin.
Thanks go to everyone who has encouraged
and supported us. Without
the tremendous help of the people
of Berlin and Brandenburg, with their
faith in us from the word go and Askania
watches on their wrists bringing the
brand alive to others every day, the
rapid and sustained revival of Askania
would not have been possible.
But we are not the only ones celebrating a key birthday –
the legendary Berlin AVUS racing track also sees a milestone
anniversary this year. In its honour, Askania presents the new
AVUS series, in 750 gold and in a limited edition of 90. Don’t
delay and turn to page 72 before it’s gone.
