Was ist Folsom? 

Folsom ist ein in der schwul-lesbischen Szene seit 

Folsom Europe e.V. · Skalitzer Str. 140 · D-10999 Berlin 

über 20 Jahren bekannter Markenname, der für eine 

Reihe von Leder-Fetisch-Straßenfesten steht, die als 

Benifiz-Event veranstaltet werden. Zugleich dienen 

die Straßennfeste dazu, Barrieren und Vorurteile 

abzubauen und sind als Treffpunkt von Ledermännern 

und –frauen aus aller Welt bekannt. 

In den USA hat Folsom seit vielen Jahren auch mehr 

und mehr heterosexuelle Besucher, die sich der Szene 

verbunden fühlen (insbesondere aus der Fetisch- und 

Motorradfahrer-Szene) oder sich Folsom über Europe die Aktivitäten 

e.V.

In den letzten gut fünfundzwanzig D-10999 Jahren Berlin hat die 

Folsom-Bewegung mehrere Millionen US-Dollar für 

gemeinnützige Projekte aufgebracht.

Seit 2004 hat der Verein Folsom Europe e.V. die Exklusiv-Rechte 

für Europa und veranstaltet jährlich das 

Straßenfest sowie zahlreiche Partys und Events am 

selben Wochenende. 

Im sechsten Jahr kamen über 20.000 Besucher. 

San Francisco hat sich im Jahr 2003 ganz bewusst für 

Berlin entschieden, da man in Europas Lesben- und 

Schwulenmetropole die besten Voraussetzungen findet 

und die größten Wachstumschancen sieht. 

Folsom europe e.v. - der verein 

Der Verein Folsom Europe e.V. mit Sitz in Berlin wurde 

im Jahr 2003 gegründet und im Registergericht eingetragen. 

Die Grundlagen des Vereins regelt die Satzung. 

Der Verein organisiert in Berlin einmal jährlich 

das Benefiz-Straßenfest „Folsom Europe“. Mit dem 

Straßenfest verfolgen die Veranstalter drei Ziele: 

die Stärkung innerhalb der Leder-Fetisch-Szene, der 

Schritt in die Öffentlichkeit zum Abbau von Vorurteilen 

sowie die Unterstützung gemeinnütziger Vereine 

und Organisationen in Europa, die sich der Betreuung 

und Pflege HIV-Positiver und an AIDS erkrankter Menschen 

angenommen haben.

Das Original aus den USA hat seinen Ursprung in San 

Francisco. In den letzten Jahren lag die Besucher-Zahl 

kontinuierlich bei 300.000. Langjährige Sponsoren in 

San Francisco sind u.a. Miller Brewery und Cuervo. 

Zudem veranstaltet Folsom Street Events noch 

Amtsgericht Charlottenburg 

das kleinere Schwester-Event „Up VR your Nr. 23483 Alley NzFair“ 

(25.07.2010), als warm-up für das Megaevent Finanzamt Berlin im I Septemeber.

Es werden Spenden gesammelt, die gemeinnützigen 

Einrichtungen gespendet werden. In den letzen Jahren

What is Folsom? 

Folsom is a brand name very well known in the gay 

and lesbian community for more than 20 years. It 


stands for a number of leather and fetish street fairs 

which are run as benefit events. Simultaneously the 

street fairs work towards reducing barriers and 

prejudice and they are a popular meeting point for 

leather men and women from all over the world. In 

the USA, Folsom has attracted a growing number of 

straight visitors over the last years, mainly people 

who feel themselves as part of the scene (mainly from

Since 2004 the association Folsom Europe e.V. has 

the exclusive rights and organizes a street fair and 

several parties every year on one specific weekend. 

In the sixt year there were more than 20.000 visitors. 

San Francisco has consciously chosen Berlin in 2003 

because the circumstances of Europe’s gay and lesbian 

center are most suitable and the prospect for growth 

is highest. 

Folsom europe e. v. – the association 

The association Folsom Europe e. V. was founded in 

Berlin in 2003 and registered with the local court. 

The basic proceedings are laid out in its statutes. It 

runs and organizes the charity street fair Folsom 

Europe in Berlin once a year. There are three goals 

to be achieved by this event: strengthening the 

leather and fetish community, stepping out into 

the public to reduce prejudice and supporting nonprofit 

organizations in Europe that have devoted 

themselves to caring and helping HIV-positive people 

and people with AIDS. Funds are being raised to be

leather scene in the USA and in Germany in the early 

eighties. Folsom Street originally is just the name of 

the street in San Francisco where the street fair took 

place.

The American original event originates from San 

Francisco. Throughout the last years, the number of

Seven years of Folsom Europe

This year, like the years before, many leather and fetish friends marked this date in red on their 


calendars: Folsom Europe in Berlin. From September 1 to 6, lots of visitors from all over the world 

will be expected at Folsom Europe, which culminates to its highlight on September 4, the street 

fair on Fuggerstrasse between noon and 9 p.m. Last year, there were more than 20.000 people at the 

street fair according to the police´s estimation and over 5000 at the two Folsom parties PERVERTS 

and PIG. No other event in Europe attracts so many visitors. 

The first weekend in September has become a fixed date in the Leather and fetish wold´s agenda. Vorstand: This 

year, like the years before, clubs and groups from all over the world present themselves at the 

street fair. Lots of sales stands invite the crowd for shopping, testing and information. Berlin´s 

bar owners cater to the crowd with many places to eat and drink at the street fair. Popular DJs get 

the visitors into the right mood with their music - let´s hope the weather will be as fine as it used 

to be the years before. 

Some alterations from the previous year are taken over again: The DJ stage will be set up again at 

the end of Welser Street. It will be new that one „gourmet-mile“ will be created in the area of the

Welserstreet. The VIP, helpers and press-lounge is again in the end of the Welser Street, directly 

in front of our partner-hotel „Axel Hotel Berlin“. 

Many titleholders from all over the world, including the current Iternational Mr. Tyler McCormick 

from New Mexico/USA and German Mr. Leather 2010 David Schneider from Hamburg, will support the 

fundraising projects set up by Folsom Europe by their attendance. 

Folsom Europe 2010 will continue to be a peaceful and friendly meeting of this scene and its friends. 

The organizing team would like to express their gratitude to the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Mr. 

Klaus Wowereit, for his strong support and also for his salutation to the participants of Folsom

FOLSOM EUROPE increased fast to a successful large event in his first years. Women D-10999 and Berlin men 

from around the world meet each other, to help others and also, in order to advertise for more 

acknowledgment and respect for her/its/their way of life. 

Whoever demands respect even also must handle others respectfully, however, in order to find 

out acceptance. 

A responsible contact with reference to safe sex and drugs must just as of course as Büro is Schöneberg: also a 

respectful contact with all visitors and residents in the beautiful-salvor of the “Schöneberger 

Fuggerstr. 7 


Kiez”. The organizers expect that the residents are called the guests welcome from around the 

world on this day.

But also the residents can expect that the visitors like guests behave. Therefore is reminded at 

three basic rules to FOLSOM EUROPE: 

* The anticipation packs beautifully increased – cover the genitals! 

* Sex is fun - pre all in the Darkroom and at the parties. The street is taboo for this! 

* The toilets on the streets are free. Gardens and backyards don’t need any extra-fertilizer!

The two parties PERVERTS 030910 (sponsored by Mr.B) at the “Glashaus” (www.pervertsberlin.com) 

and PIG (sponsored by RoB and Recon) on Saturday night at the “MÜNZE Berlin“ (www.pigberlin. 

com) will be the highlights of the weekend besides the street fair itself and a lot of other events. 

Thousands of guests will celebrate these two parties. Top-DJs will make both events the party 

highlights of the year.

From 2004 to 2009, a childrens day care institution (Kita Fuggerstrasse e.V.) was sponsored by 

Folsom Europe with special attention.This is a private initiative caring for children with HIV 

and AIDS. Furthermore, the Lebenshaus ZIK Zentrum im Kiez gGmbH (Berlin), the Café PositHiv e.V. 

(Berlin), the gay switchboard Checkpoint run by SchwIPS e.V. (Cologne), an AIDS project in the 

Ukraine, the child care institution “Nestwaerme”, “Mann-o-Meter” for paying instant HIV tests, 

Pluspunkt in Berlin and a women´s project in the Netherlands, the Sisters of the O.S.P.I. Berlin and 

“Das Lebenshaus” in Cologne were sponsored by Folsom Europe. Altogether 40.000 Euros could be 

used to support these organizations. Folsom Europe thanks all its visitors for their donations.

7 Jahre FOLSOM EUROPE 



Zum siebten Mal haben es viele Leder- und Fetischbegeisterte mit dickem Rotstift Skalitzer in Str. ihren 140 


Kalendern notiert: FOLSOM EUROPE in Berlin. Vom 1. bis zum 6. September werden wieder 

Besucherinnen und Besucher aus aller Welt zu FOLSOM EUROPE erwartet, welches mit dem 

eigentlichen Straßenfest am 5. September von 12:00 Uhr bis 21:00 Uhr seinen eigentlichen 

Höhepunkt rund um die Fuggerstraße in Berlin-Schöneberg hat. Über 20.000 Besucher, so 

schätzte die Berliner Polizei, waren es im Jahr 2009 und insgesamt über 5.000 Besucher bei den beiden 

FOLSOM Partys PERVERTS und PIG. Kein weiterer Event in Europa zieht derart viele Fetischfreunde

in seinen Bann. 


Es kommt nicht von ungefähr, dass im Jahreskalender der Leder- und Fetischwelt das erste 

Wochenende im September ein fester Bestandteil geworden ist. So präsentieren sich wieder 

viele Vereine und Gruppen aus aller Welt auf dem Straßenfest. Zahlreiche Verkaufsstände 

laden ein zum Shopping, Ausprobieren und Informieren. Die Berliner Gastronomen sorgen 

mit genügend Getränke- und Imbissständen für das notwendige Durchhaltevermögen. 

Bekannte DJs bringen mit ihrer Musik die Besucher bei hoffentlich eben so gutem Wetter 

wie in den Vorjahren schnell wieder in die richtige Stimmung. 

Einige Änderungen aus dem Vorjahr werden wieder übernommen: Die DJ-Bühne wird am Ende 

der Welserstraße stehen. Neu wird sein, dass auf dem Gebiet der Welserstraße auch eine 

„Gourmet-Meile“ entstehen wird. Die VIP-, Helfer- und Presse-Lounge befindet sich wieder 

im Kreisel am Ende der Welserstraße, direkt vor unserem Partner-Hotel „Axel“.

FOLSOM EUROPE ist in den letzten Jahren schnell zu einem erfolgreichen Groß-Event angewachsen. 

Frauen und Männer aus aller Welt kommen zusammen, um einander zu treffen, anderen zu helfen und 

auch, um für mehr Anerkennung und Respekt für ihre Lebensweise zu werben. 

Wer Respekt fordert, muss aber selbst auch respektvoll mit anderen umgehen, um Akzeptanz zu 

erfahren. 

Ein verantwortungsvoller Umgang in Bezug auf Safe Sex und Drogen müssen genauso selbstverständlich

sein wie auch ein respektvoller Umgang mit allen Besuchern und Anwohnern im Schöneberger D-10777 Berlin Kiez. 

Die Veranstalter erwarten, dass die Anwohner die Gäste aus aller Welt an diesem Tag willkommen 

heißen. 

Aber auch die Anwohner können erwarten, dass sich die Besucher wie Gäste verhalten. Daher sei an 

drei Grundregeln zu FOLSOM EUROPE erinnert: 

* Schön verpackt erhöht die Vorfreude - Die Geschlechtsteile sind zu bedecken! 

* Sex macht Spaß - Vor allem im Darkroom und bei den Partys. Die Straße ist hierfür tabu! 

* Die Toiletten auf den Straßen sind kostenlos. Gärten und Hinterhöfe brauchen keinen Extra- 

Dünger!

Höhepunkte neben dem eigentlichen Straßenfest und all den Veranstaltungen am Wochenende werden 

die Partys PERVERTS 030910 (sponsored by Mr. B) im „Glashaus“ (www.pervertsberlin.com) und die 

PIG (by RoB & Recon) am Samstagabend sein, bei der wieder Tausende feiern werden. 

Dieses Jahr zieht die PIG (www.pigberlin.com) nach Berlin Mitte in die „MÜNZE Berlin“. Somit wurde 

wieder eine perfekte neue Location gefunden. Internationale TOP-DJs werden beide Veranstaltungen 

zu den Party-Highlights des Jahres machen. 

Geförderte Projekte und Einrichtungen: 

In den Jahren 2004 bis 2009 wurde im Besonderen die Kindertagesstätte in Berlin (Kita Fuggerstraße 

e.V.) von FOLSOM EUROPE mit Spenden unterstützt. Die Kita ist eine private Initiative, die HIV - 

infizierte und an AIDS erkrankte Kinder betreut. Weiterhin wurden das Lebenshaus ZIK Zentrum im 

Kiez (Berlin), das Café PositHiv e.V. (Berlin), der Info-Laden Checkpoint (Köln), das Mann-O-Meter zur 

Finanzierung von HIV-Schnelltests, der Verein Pluspunkt in Berlin, das Lebenshaus Köln, der O.S.P.I. 

Berlin und Paris sowie viele weitere Institutionen und Gruppen unterstützt. Insgesamt konnten so 

schon über 40.000 Euro Spendengelder verteilt werden. FOLSOM EUROPE dankt allen Besucherinnen 

und Besuchern für ihre Spenden.
