Blutenmitte abgewandter Buckel; Epichil sackartig,
seitlich zusammengedruckt, 14 mm lang, 9 mm tief,
an der Basis 4 mm breil; Seiten des Epichils schlieBen
den aufragenden 5 mm hohen, 3,5 mm langen,
1,5 mm breilen Kallus ein; Ende des Epichils zugespitzt,
abwiirls gewandl; 2 feste, wachsartige, gelbe,
keulenf6rmige Pollinien 3,5 mm x 0,5 mm; Stipes und
Viscidium 3,0 mm x 0,5 mm; Anthere 5 mm lang,
2,5 mm breit. Blutenfarbe variabel von stark dunkelrotpurpur
bis leuchtend gelb intensiv rotpurpur gepunktet.
Frucht eine 14 cm lange Kapsel , die noch bestehende
Siiule mit eingeschlossen, 2 cm 0 , schmutzig
purpurbraun mit winzigen, staubfeinell Samen.

Plant typical for the genus, to 50 ern k'lll; rnizome short, pseudobulbs
OVOid, 8 ct tall a d 4 em wide, 7-9 ribbed, 2foliale,
covered at the base by 3-4 chartaceous, nonfoliaceous
sheaths to 9 em long; leaves indistinclly petiolate, petiole to
10 cm long; blade to 26 em long, 7 cm Wide, aCUminate, light
green, with 3 prominent velns on the underside; inflorescence
produced from base of the pseudobulb, pendent, to 1S cm
long. 3- to 12flowered, rachis angula r, Winged, to 4 mm wide,
dark red-brown: bracts sub tending no ers 5 mm long, 3 mm
wide. Flowers large for genus: ovary and pedicel terete, 52 mm
long,2 mm in diameter; dorsal sepal 22 mm long, 14 mm wide,
convex with revolute margins, lateral sepals 33 mm long,
22 mill wide, strongly convex at base to accomodate hypochilar
hams; petals adnate to column for most of length, free
portion 11 mm long, 2 mm wide, sigmoid; column curved,
broadest just below apex, 25 mm long, 7 mm wide near apex,
4 mm wide at base; column foot 8 mm long; lip claw abserlip
conspicuously divided into hypocnile and epichile; tot
length 27 mm; hypochile broad and flattened at base, sligh
concave on abaxial side, bearing a pair of flattened , adaxia
curving, triangular (90 degree) horns; hypochile 15 mm lo n ~
