STG – Sailing Team Germany

Sailing Team Germany (STG) is an initiative

to take professional high performance

sailing in the country to the next

level and to create an economical, technical,

logistical and training environment

that is second to none, with the declared

aim to make Germany once again

one of the leading nations in Olympic

and Paralympic sailing. STG is supported

by the Germany Sailing Federation,

leading Germany yacht clubs and high

profile individuals and sponsors.

Marinepool has been official supplier

of various national sailing federations

and national teams since 1996. In

Marinepool‘s home market Germany

however, structures have not been in

place in the past to allow the marketing

of German top athletes as a team.

The situation has changed with the formation

of the STG organisation. STG

managers Oliver Schwall, a former Tornado

World Champion, and Arne Dost,

could convince Marinepool to become

the new clothing supplier of Sailing Team

Germany, a deal that will run until 2016

and include the 2016 Olympic Games in

Rio where STG is aiming for medals.

Marinepool will be the official supplier

of sailing clothing and technical and

mari time fashion to the teams under

the STG umbrella. Apart from the

investment into the STG clothing

collection itself, Marinepool has added

another position to its design team and

developed a totally renewed neoprene

collection with designers dedicated

exclusively to dinghy and racing wear.

The world class athletes on the STG

have been in workshops with the

Marinepool design team to help develop

their own team wear. Their experience

and invaluable input clearly shows

in the new collection introduced in this

catalogue. Performance sailing clothing

second to none!

In addition to the actual team wear

Marinepool designed the Sailing Team

Germany Fan Collection which is already

available at www.stg-store.de.
