Apps nutzerfreundlich und effizient orchestrieren
Die Spezialisierung auf eng umgrenzte Aufgaben ist ein Erfolgsfaktor für Apps auf Mobilgeräten,
kann aber bei komplexen Anforderungen zum Nachteil werden, wenn Teilaufgaben
häufige manuelle App-Wechsel erfordern. Dieser Beitrag stellt das Konzept der
App-Orchestrierung vor, das die Vernetzung von Apps unter Erhaltung des Arbeitskontextes,
zum Beispiel in Virtual Factories, erlaubt. Durch die Verwendung von Aufgaben-,
Arbeitsfluss- und Kontextmodellen kann dieser Vorgang automatisiert werden. Das entwickelte
Konzept wurde prototypisch implementiert und einer formativen Evaluation
unterzogen.

Networking apps for complex industrial tasks –
Orchestrating apps efficiently
Tailored to a specific task, mobile applications can offer high usability. However, they do
not yet support complex workflows, which require frequent manual switching between
apps. To overcome this limitation, we have developed the concept of App Orchestration.
This makes it possible to connect the apps with each other while maintaining the work
context, e.g. in Virtual Factories. The orchestration process can be automated with models
for tasks, workflows, and contexts. The concept was implemented in a prototype and
subjected to a formative evaluation.
