Zifferblatt und korrespondierender Goldemail-Brosche mit<br />

dem Wappen von Louis-Marie-Christophe Marquis de Becdelièvre<br />

Geh.: 18Kt Goldemail, im Zentrum aufwändig floral graviert, randseitig<br />

polychrom emailliert, polychrom emailliertes Mittelteil und Pendant,<br />

signierte Goldcuvette, korrespondierende Brosche in Form des marquisbekrönten,<br />

perlenbesetzten Wappens des Louis-Marie-Christophe Marquis<br />

de Becdelièvre. Zffbl.: versilbert, guillochiert, radiale röm. Zahlen,<br />

Breguet-Zeiger. Werk: Brückenwerk, Schlüsselaufzug, vergoldet, gebläute<br />

Schrauben, Zylinderhemmung, dreiarmige Messingunruh, gebläute Unruhspirale,<br />

Rubindeckstein auf Unruh.<br />

Pierre-Basile Lepaute (1750-1843)<br />

Pierre-Basile Lepaute, auch bekannt als Sully-Lepaute, übernahm die<br />

berühmte in den 1740ern gegründete Firma und leitete sie gemeinsam mit<br />

seinem Sohn Pierre-Michel Lepaute (1785-1849). Er führte den Titel des<br />

Horloger de l’Empereur während der Kaiserzeit und des Horloger du Roi<br />

während der Restauration und der Julimonarchie. Lepaute war einer der<br />

Hauptlieferanten von Uhren an den Kaiserhof und durfte bei den Industriemessen<br />

1819 und 1823 ausstellen.<br />

Die Lepautes zählten zu Frankreichs führenden Herstellern von Uhren und<br />

Großuhren. Unter den Mitgliedern der Familie befanden sich Erfinder und<br />

Schriftsteller sowie Forscher und ausgezeichnete Handwerksmeister. Zu<br />

ihren Kunden zählten z.B. Louis XV, Louis XVI, Madame du Barry, Duc de<br />

Bourbon, die Princesse de Monaco, King Ferdinand VI, King Charles III und<br />

Charles IV of Spain.<br />

Louis-Marie-Christophe Marquis de Becdelièvre 1783-1855<br />

Louis-Marie-Christophe, Marquis DE BEC-DE-LIÈVRE, Lehnsherr von<br />

Avaugour,Seilleraye, Mauves, Brousse, Kerbra, heiratete am 9. September<br />

1805 Caliste-Françoise-Joséphine de Larlan, Dame von Brousse und<br />

Kerbra, Tochter von Jacques-François, Graf von Larlan sowie Victoire-<br />

Marie-Françoise-Brigitte de Kerguelen, mit der er drei Kinder bekam:<br />

Aliénor-Louise-Caliste-Marie-Juliette-Mathilde DE BEC-DE-LIÈVRE,<br />

geb. 18 Oktober 1807 ; Emilie-Caroline-Alix, geb. 9 Juni 1810 ; Hilarion-<br />

François-Marie-Albéric, geb. 15 Februar 1814.<br />

A gent’s rare, extremely flat gold enamel pocket watch with an<br />

excentric dial and a matching gold enamel brooch with the coatof-arms<br />

of Louis-Marie-Christophe Marquis de Becdelièvre<br />

Case: 18k gold/enamel, in the centre lavishly florally engraved,<br />

polychrome enamelled edges, polychrome enamelled band and pendant,<br />

signed gold dome, corresponding brooch in the shape of a marquis<br />

crowned half-pearl set coat-of-arms of Louis-Marie-Christophe Marquis<br />

de Becdelièvre. Dial: silvered, engine-turned, radial Roman numerals,<br />

Breguet hands. Movm.: bridge movement, keywind, gilt, blued screws,<br />

cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued hairspring, ruby<br />

endstone on balance.<br />

Pierre-Basile Lepaute (1750-1843)<br />

Pierre-Basile Lepaute (who called himself Sully-Lepaute) took over the<br />

famous company established in the 1740s and ran it together with his<br />

son Pierre-Michel Lepaute (1785-1849). He held the title of Horloger de<br />

l’Empereur during the Empire and Horloger du Roi at the Restoration and<br />

the July Monarchy. Lepaute’s company was the main supplier of clocks to<br />

the Garde-Meuble during the times of the Empire. He was admitted to the<br />

Exhibitions of the Products of the Industry in 1819 and 1823.<br />

The Lepautes were one of France’s leading clock and watchmaking<br />

families. They were inventors and writers as well as researchers and<br />

exceptional craftsmen. Their clients included Louis XV, Louis XVI, Madame<br />

du Barry, Duc de Bourbon, the Princesse de Monaco, King Ferdinand VI,<br />

King Charles III and Charles IV of Spain.<br />

Louis-Marie-Christophe, Marquis DE BEC-DE-LIÈVRE, liege lord of<br />

Avaugour,Seilleraye, Mauves, Brousse, Kerbra, married Caliste-Françoise-<br />

Joséphine de Larlan, Lady of Brousse and Kerbra, daughter of Jacques-<br />

François, Count of Larlan and his wife Victoire-Marie-Françoise-Brigitte de<br />

Kerguelen on September 9, 1805; they had three children:<br />

Aliénor-Louise-Caliste-Marie-Juliette-Mathilde, born October 18, 1807,<br />

Emilie-Caroline-Alix, born June 9, 1810, and Hilarion-François-Marie-<br />

Albéric, born February 15, 1814.<br />
