Blockguss
Beim steigenden Guss wird die Kokille über ein
spezielles Eingießsystem von unten mit Stahlschmelze
beschickt. Eine wichtige Fragestellung ist,
inwieweit die Strömungsverhältnisse Auswirkungen
auf den Reinheitsgrad des erstarrten Endproduktes
haben und wie diese gegebenenfalls hinsichtlich
des Reinheitsgrades verbessert werden können. Zur
grundlegenden Untersuchungen dieser Thematik
wurden Simulationsrechnungen und Versuche an
physikalischen Modellen durchgeführt, um mögliche
konstruktive Maßnahmen hinsichtlich einer Verbesserung
des Strömungsverhaltens zu erarbeiten. Das
Eingießsystem wird dabei so modifiziert, dass der
während des Füllvorgangs eintretende Strahl stabil
im Bereich der Kokillenachse verbleibt. Außerdem
darf der Impuls der eintretenden Schmelze nicht
so stark sein, dass Gießpulver eingezogen werden
kann. Einschlüsse sollen sich weitestgehend an der
Oberfläche abscheiden.
Zur qualitativen Erfassung der strömungstechnischen
Vorgänge wurde als Methode der Strömungssichtbarmachung
das Lichtschnittverfahren
angewendet. Durch geeignete Lichtquellen wird
Ingot casting
As the name suggests, in the bottom pouring
method, the steel melt is poured into the mould
from below via a special feeding system. One
important question here is to what extent the flow
conditions affect the cleanliness of the solidified
product and how, if possible, they could be improved
to achieve better cleanliness. To investigate the
fundamentals of this topic, numerical simulations
and tests with physical models were conducted in
order to identify any design measures that would
help to improve the flow behaviour. The feeding
system is modified such that the stream of hot
melt entering during the filling process remains
stable in the region of the mould axis. Besides this,
the momentum generated by the inflowing melt
must not be so strong that it will entrain casting
powder with it. Inclusions should be separated
out as far as possible at the surface.
The technique chosen to record the qualitative
aspects of the flow processes and make them visible
was the light scattering method. Using suitable
light sources, an illuminated plane is created in
