The success story of EMCO, based in Hallein, began in
1947 with the production of conventional lathes.
These machines became increasingly complex, demand
rose, and the company quickly developed into
Austria’s largest producer of machine tools. At present,
EMCO are a group with plants in Austria, Germany, Italy
and the Czech Republic, and also their own sales branches
in Germany, the USA and Asia. More than 900 highly qualifi
ed employees are at work around the world, and with 160
sales and service branches, EMCO Innovative Machine Tools
now have an international presence on all important markets
with their conventional lathes, milling and cycle machines,
CNC universal lathes, milling and lathing centres.
Thanks to a number of automation components, all of the
company’s machines can be turned into fully automatic
manufacturing cells. In addition, EMCO Industrial Training
Systems play an important role in the international transfer
of know-how due to their comprehensive training concept,
and are regarded as one of the world’s leading companies in
training workers in the machining of metal.
Over the past decades, the Lisec company has grown
from what was originally a glass workshop to the world’s
largest manufacturer of high-tech production lines for the
insulating-glass industry. Forty years of experience with fl at
glass, mechanical engineering and the production of insulating
glass, in combination with intensive research and
further development and a global service network, stand for
high technology, know-how and quality made in Austria. In
2007, Lisec received Austria’s state award for innovation for
