Kurzinterview mit Wolfgang Marzin
Überall ist von der „neuen“ IFFA zu
hören – Was bedeutet das und was
erwartet die Besucher?
Mit einem neuen optimierten Geländekonzept
und mehr Ausstellungsfläche erhält die
IFFA ein neues Gesicht – moderner, kompakter
und größer. Erstmals ist die Halle 11 belegt,
die neueste und modernste Halle auf
dem Frankfurter Messegelände. Hier zeigen
führende Anbieter aus den Bereichen Verpacken,
Versorgungseinrichtungen, Mess- und
Wägetechnik sowie Verarbeiten-Schneiden
ihre Innovationen. Durch diese Neustrukturierung
ist das komplette Angebot an Maschinen
und Anlagen im Westen des Messegeländes,
in den Hallen 8, 9 und 11 konzentriert. Neu
Mehrwert. Worauf können sich die
Besucher in diesem Jahr freuen?
Die internationalen Qualitätswettbewerbe des
Deutschen Fleischer-Verbands werden auch in
diesem Jahr sicherlich wieder ein Publikumsmagnet
sein. Neu ist der Internationale Qualitätswettbewerb
für Produkte in Dosen und
Gläsern. In der Sonderschau „Die Trendfleischerei“
zeigen führende Anbieter neue Konzepte
und Geschäftsideen für den Verkauf. Die
Schau wird eingerahmt von Ausstellern aus
dem Ladenbau und im angegliederten Forum
halten Fachleute an allen Messetagen informative
anbietenden Ausstellern zusammenzubringen.
Außerdem präsentieren unter dem Motto
„Technischen Fortschritt erfahrbar machen“
mehrere wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen im
Rahmen der Technik-Lounge des VDMA neue
Konzepte und Lösungen für die Branche. Damit
zeigt der Ingenieursnachwuchs sein
Know-how nicht nur der Industrie, sondern
vermittelt auch den Studenten des Maschinenbaus,
der Verfahrenstechnik oder anderen
interessierten jungen Leuten, wie spannend
Technik ist.
Welche sind die Erfolgsfaktoren einer
über viele Jahrzehnte so erfolgreichen
Fachmesse wie der IFFA?
Ein gutes marktorientiertes Messekonzept,
starke Partner und der Anspruch, Dinge kontinuierlich
zu verbessern sind unabdingbar für
eine erfolgreiche Messe. Der USP der IFFA ist
die klare Fokussierung auf das Thema
„Fleisch“. Nur die IFFA bildet die gesamte
fleischwirtschaftliche Produktionskette vom
Interview with
Wolfgang Marzin
Everyone is talking about the ‘new’ IFFA –
what does this mean and what can visitors
expect?
With a new, optimised hall concept and more
exhibition space, this year’s IFFA has a completely
new look – more modern, more concentrated
and even bigger. For the first time, it
occupies Hall 11, the newest and most modern
hall at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.
There, leading companies from the packaging,
supply facilities, measuring and weighing technology
segments, as well as processing and cutting,
are showing their innovations. Thanks to
this restructuring, the complete range of machines
and equipment is now concentrated in
the western part of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition
Centre, in Halls 8, 9 and 11. Also new is
the use of Hall 4 with the range of products and
services for “Sales – everything for butchers’
shops”. Additionally, Hall 4 is where top companies
from home and abroad present all the
latest ingredients, spices, additives, casings and
packaging materials.
For our visitors, the new hall concept means
shorter walking distances and an improved
overview. And IFFA can continue to grow.
A good complementary programme offers
added value. What can visitors look forward
to this year?
As in the past, the international quality competitions
of the German Butchers’ Association
(DFV) will certainly be a magnet for visitors.
New is the “International Quality Competition
for Products in Cans and Jars”. At the special
show on “Trends in the butchers’ trade”, leading
suppliers present new concepts and business
ideas for the sales side. The show is located
among shop-fitting exhibitors, and experts
will hold lectures in the adjoining “Forum”
throughout the fair. A shortage of trainees is an
urgent problem for both the meat-processing
industry and the butchers’ trade. We have
taken up this subject and, with the IFFA Job
Portal, provide an opportunity for visitors looking
for jobs to make contact with e xhibitors
searching for personnel. Additionally, several
scientific institutes present new concepts and
solutions for the sector under the motto
“Bringing technical progress to life” at the
VDMA Technology Lounge. There, not only will
young engineers demonstrate their expertise to
the i ndustry. Students of mechanical engineering,
process technology and other disciplines
will also experience just how exciting technology
is.
What are the factors behind a trade fair
such as IFFA that has been successful for
so many decades?
Essential for a successful fair are a good,
brand-oriented trade-fair concept, strong partners
and the aim to improve things continuously.
The USP of IFFA is its unequivocal focus
on the subject of „meat”. Only IFFA covers all
links of the meat-processing chain from
slaughtering, via processing and packing, to
sales. Further important quality criteria include
a high level of internationality on both the
exhibitor and visitor sides, the presence of all
market leaders and the extremely innovative
nature of the products and solutions to be
seen. Additionally, the support of our two partner
associations, the Food and Packaging
Machinery Division of the Federation of
German Machine and Plant Manufacturers
(VDMA) and the German Butchers’ Association
(DFV), is essential for a successful IFFA. For
many years, we have been working together
closely on a basis of mutual trust, to develop
IFFA in accordance with the needs of the market
and to make it fit for the future.
