Sternfahrt zur Automechanika
Am 18. September fahren die
Teilnehmer der ersten Sternfahrt zur
Automechanika mit eindrucksvollen
Old- und Youngtimern in einem
Korso über das gesamte Frankfurter
Messegelände bis zum Freigelände
Agora. Dort begrüßt Moderator Johannes
Hübner, der durch die Sachsen
Classic und die Silvretta Classic
bekannt ist, die Teilnehmer und
stellt sie mit ihren Schätzchen vor.
Die Fahrzeuge werden publikumswirksam
auf dem Messegelände
ausgestellt. Am 19. September
zeichnet Walter Röhrl die Sieger der
einzelnen Fahrzeugkategorien im
Rahmen einer öffentlichen Siegerehrung
auf dem Freigelände aus. Unter
den Teilnehmern sind unter anderem
auch ein Red Baron, Baujahr 1916,
ein James Dean Porsche, Baujahr
1954, und ein seltener BMW 507
Roadster, Baujahr 1959, von dem
insgesamt nur rund 400 Exemplare
gebaut wurden.

Automechanika
On 18 September, participants in
the Automechanika‘s first rally will
form a procession and converge on
the Agora open-air exhibition area
from all corners of the Frankfurter
Messe grounds in their old and
youngtimers. There they will be introduced
by Johannes Hübner, wellknown
from the Sachsen and Silvretta
Classic. Afterwards the vehicles
will be exhibited to the general public.
On the following day, 19 September,
Walter Röhrl will announce
the winners of the individual vehicle
categories at an award ceremony
open to the public on the Agora
grounds. Among the participants, to
name just a few, are the Red Baron,
vintage 1916, a James Dean Porsche,
vintage 1954, and a BMW 507
Roadster, vintage 1959, of which
only 400 were made.

exhibitors will be busy throughout
the fair transforming a vintage Harley
Davidson into a custom bike.

ZDK Special Show
At the Special show “Knowledge –
Skills – Passion” put on by the ZDK
(the German Association for Motor
Trades and Repairs) experts are on
hand with information on the challenges
related to training, workshop
and marketing. Focus of the presentation
is on three main issues: One
of these is electrical vehicles. What
are the new tasks for the automotive
workshop, what are the available
high-voltage systems, and what education
will be necessary? Another
issue is discussed under the heading
“Workshop live”. Specialists are
available to present a complete accident
claims procedure. The third
focus is fixed on the 40-year anniversary
of the appeals and arbitration
bodies for the motor vehicle trade.

ZKF-Special show
The special show of the ZKF (the
German Association for Bodywork
and Vehicle Technology) concentrates
on the areas of paintwork repair,
body panel work and claims
management.

Special show: ColorTec
The special show put together by
trade schools for color and design
will give trainees the chance to show
their stuff. Spotlight at this year‘s
ColorTec is on, among other things,
new developments in car paint, accident
and damage repair.

Job Exchanges
A wide variety of job exchanges and
portals are turning the Automechanika
into a virtual recruiting station
for both skilled craftsmen and managerial
staff. Participating agencies
are the German Federal Employment
Commission, Jobboarding and
the internet portal Career-Journal.
com. Visitors will find a lot of interesting
job offers and will have the
opportunity to consult with job
placement specialists.
