EUROSPOTGeneralitiesThis information is given in the best interest of safety,handling, installation, use and maintenance of theproduct. They must be read before any attempt ismade to use and/or install the product. Additionalcopies are available on request.• The luminaires must not be covered by heatinsulating material or by any other materialwhich prevents proper heat dissipation.• Observe carefully the limitation on theminimum distance between inflammablematerials and any part of the luminaire asindicated on the identification plate.• Luminaire enclosures should not be openedimmediately after switching off and adequatetime must be allowed for lamp to cool.• Do not operate luminaires without safety glassand /or lenses.• Replace all cracked or damaged safety glassesand/or lenses immediately.• For safety reasons, failed lamps should bereplaced promptly and the luminaire shouldbe switched off as soon as the lamp failure isnoted.• Unless otherwise stated, the luminaires aredesigned for direct connection to a standardmains supply as indicated on the identificationplate.• Inspection and cleaning should be carried outat regular intervals to ensure electrical andthermal safety as well as optical performanceof the luminaire.• Servicing, cleaning or lamp replacement shouldonly be carried out after the power supply cablehas been disconnected.• Repairs should be carried out only by suitablyqualified personnel. Only spare partsauthorised by ADB may be used.• ADB products must not be modified. Anymodification may render the product unsafe,and will invalidate any safety approval marks.ADB will not accept any liability for any damagecaused as a result of such a modification.Fitting PlugA suitable plug of at least 10/16A (220 V / 240V)rating should be fitted to the spotlight power cable,observing the connection colour code as follows :Brown or black - phaseBlue - neutralYellow, green -Earth/GroundImportant RemarkPower supply cables and other connections areessential for your equipment and contribute greatlyto a safe and trouble free operation.• Always hold the plug when disconnecting acable, never pull the cable.• Never use cables or connections in badcondition, check them before installation andperiodically thereafter.• Never tie power supply and data cablestogether.Remark: the weight of the accessories shall notbe more than 25% of the weight of the luminair.Inserting Shutter Blades• Place the lateral shutter blades near the lampand the vertical shutter blades near the lens.• Insert corner (A) between notches in shutterblade slot (C).• Push blade in until notch (B) engages in extremeedge of slot. This will allow clearance for corner(D) to be rotated fully into the housing.• Repeat in rotation until all shutter blades aresecurely home.P a g e 6Issue 001
EUROSPOTBeam Spread AdjustmentBeam spread control for Fresnel and Prism Convexspotlights is achieved by moving the lamp andreflector in relation to the lens. Moving themforward increases the beam angle and movingthem backwards reduces it. Control is by a screwknob beneath the spotlight.Lamp FittingBase must be GY 9.5 and light center height shallbe 46.5 mm.Damaged or thermally deformed lamps MUST NOTbe used. Lamp manufacturers' instructions mustbe followed at all times.Never attempt to insert a lamp with the spotlightconnected to a dimmer circuit or to the mains.Before opening the spotlight, unplug the powercable. Failure to observe this precaution may resultin severe burns. Do not touch the lamp surface -use the disposable glove or shield provided withthe new lamp when fitting it into the lampholder.When changing a recently failed lamp, allow timefor the lamp and lens to cool before removing itfrom the spotlight.Reflector CleaningDisconnect the power supply cable, open the lamptray beneath the spotlight and remove the lamp.Clean the reflector using a slightly damp cloth withsome alcool.Inserting Color Frame or BarndoorFor profile spotlights with condenser optics,a fine adjustment knob allows to trim thesharpness difference between a light beamshaped by shutters and a beam created from aniris diaphragm or a gobo. For profile spotlightswith ellipsoidal reflector the fine adjustment knoballows to adjust the homogenity of the light beam.On all profile spotlights, the zoom system allows tocontrol the beam diameter. The zoom lenses aremoved by first loosening the 2 adjustment knobsbeneath the spotlight and then sliding them tothe required positions. Once the desired setting isachieved, tighten the knobs to secure the lenses.Lens CleaningClean the lenses using a slightly damp cloth withsome alcool. With Fresnel and prism convexspotlights, remove the 4 screws from front of spot,remove the front plate, clean the lens and replacethe front plate. With profile spotlights, remove topcentre screw from front of spot, pull top baffle plateforward as far as possible and clean the lenses.Slide top baffle plate back to its initial position andreplace retaining screw.P a g e 7Issue 001
