AT&S Austria Technologie und Systemtechnik AG is Europe’s market leader and one
of the most competitive manufacturers of PCBs worldwide.
The platform on professional qualifi cations, www.qualifi -
cation.at, was the fi rst thing to establish Styria’s automobile
cluster, both in Austria and abroad, as a professional contact
for all things educational. It founded the Automotive Academy
Styria, an international educational facility for all the
industry’s needs. The Academy makes use of a dense network
of current offerings, resources, competencies and institutes
as an innovative educational and business institution
which serves the entire sector, its employees and all areas at
companies. As a result, both the sector and Styria as a whole
are fi t for the future in accordance with ACstyria’s forwardlooking
Strategy 2011.
“One-stop subcontractor shopping” for automotive manufacturing
in Centrope
The proximity of booming automotive manufacturing locations
in eastern Europe and good contacts with the important
actors there represent trump cards the Automotive
Cluster Vienna Region (ACVR, www.acvr.at) is relying on in
its work for local automotive subcontractors.
A joint initiative of the states of Vienna and Lower Austria
was launched by the ACVR in late 2001. Since then the
cluster has succeeded in establishing a variety of stable longterm
partnerships: the ACVR network includes companies,
research and educational institutions, professional associations
and other kinds of organisations.
The Vienna Region, a fi rst-rate business and technological
location in the heart of New Europe, has not only proven
to be the ideal breeding ground for domestic subcon-

auch regelmäßig Workshops und Arbeitskreise aus den Bereichen
Produktion, Controlling, Qualitätsmanagement
oder Human Ressources organisiert. Dazu gesellt sich eine

Bereits mit der Qualifi zierungsplattform www.qualifi cation.at
hat sich der steirische Automobilcluster als professioneller
Ansprechpartner in Bildungsbelangen über die Landesgrenzen
hinaus etabliert. Mit der Gründung der
„Automotive Academy Styria“ ist nun eine internationale
Ausbildungsstätte für die gesamte Bandbreite aller automotiven
Ansprüche entstanden. Durch eine lückenlose Vernetzung
der aktuellen Angebote, Ressourcen, Kompetenzen
und Institute fungiert die „Automotive Academy Styria“ als
innovative Bildungs- und Businesseinrichtung für die gesamte
Branche, deren Mitarbeiter und Unternehmensbereiche.
Und macht – im Sinne der zukunftsweisenden Strategie
2011 des ACstyria – nicht nur die Branche, sondern
zudem die Region Steiermark „fi t for future“.
One-Stop-Zuliefer-Shop für die Centrope-Autoproduktion
Die unmittelbare geografi sche Nachbarschaft zu den boomenden
Automobilproduktionsstandorten im Osten Europas
und die guten Kontakte zu deren maßgeblichen Akteuren
– auf diese Trümpfe setzt der Automotive Cluster
Vienna Region (ACVR, www.acvr.at) in seiner Arbeit für die
Automobilzulieferunternehmen der Vienna Region.
Eine Gemeinschaftsinitiative der Länder Wien und Niederösterreich
brachte den ACVR Ende 2001 „ins Rollen“.
Seither ist es dem Cluster gelungen, vielfältige und nachhal-
