33 rd ISC-Symposium ISC Donators Benefactors Information Services Awards Programme General Topic Preface Vorwort 2 This programme documents the realisation of the ISC-idea: the pursuit of providing a platform for a constructive dialogue between decision-makers from the fields of business, academia and politics as well as students from all over the world. During the 33 rd ISC-Symposium, internationally selected representatives from these areas converge at the University of St. Gallen. We invite you to participate in the dialogue and to unbiasedly subject yourself to the views, demands and concepts of different cultures and generations. The distinguished faculty and the topical framework of the 33 rd ISC-Symposium form an excellent basis for our objective: Along with a perfect organisation, the ISC is committed to give its participants the opportunity to gain new insights for their daily professional and personal lives. The generous support of the business world, in particular the continuous co-operation with the benefactors, as well as the exceptional goodwill of the University of St. Gallen and the region constitute the fundamentals of the ISC and of the ISC-Symposium. Extensive services and the extraordinary devotion of approximately 200 students of the University of St. Gallen to the personal well-being of our participants remain unchanged. Their goal continues to be the creation of the unique St. Gallen atmosphere which is realised by the inspiration and satisfaction of our participants. 33 rd ISC-Symposium Das vorliegende Programm reflektiert die Verwirklichung der ISC-Idee: die Idee, eine Plattform für den konstruktiven Dialog zu schaffen. Während des 33. ISC-Symposiums versammeln sich Entscheidungsträger aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Politik sowie Studenten aus aller Welt an der Universität St. Gallen. Wir laden Sie dazu ein, den Dialog zu führen und sich unvoreingenommen mit den Ansichten und Konzepten verschiedener Generationen und Kulturkreise auseinanderzusetzen. Die herausragende Faculty und der inhaltliche Rahmen des 33. ISC-Symposiums stellen den idealen Ausgangspunkt dar, dieses zentrale Anliegen des ISC zu verwirklichen. Vor dem Hintergrund einer perfekten Organisation möchte das ISC seinen Teilnehmern die Gelegenheit geben, neue Erkenntnisse zu gewinnen und bleibende Eindrücke mit in das berufliche und private Leben zu nehmen. Die grosszügige Unterstützung der Privatwirtschaft, insbesondere die kontinuierliche Zusammenarbeit mit seinen Förderern, wie auch das ausserordentliche Wohlwollen der Universität St. Gallen und der Bodensee-Region bilden das Fundament des ISC und des ISC-Symposiums. Unverändert bleiben die umfangreichen Services sowie das einmalige Engagement der 200 Kommilitonen der Universität St. Gallen, welche das Symposium Wirklichkeit werden lassen – es gilt der persönlichen Betreuung der Teilnehmer, deren Inspiration und Zufriedenheit die einzigartige St. Galler Atmosphäre ausmachen.
