“Slow Cooking”has never been more trendy!Congratulations! With the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>VKB</strong> <strong>Slowcooker</strong>, youhave purchased an extraordinary product. Made fromterracotta, the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> ensures that taste andvitamins are preserved. The <strong>Slowcooker</strong> consists of twoparts: One terracotta lid/bowl and one white glazedceramic dish. The <strong>Slowcooker</strong> also has coloured siliconerings which offer stability and protection when the<strong>Slowcooker</strong> is placed on your table. In addition, you <strong>ca</strong>nstack two <strong>Slowcooker</strong>s on top of each other in your ovenor cupboard.<strong>Royal</strong> <strong>VKB</strong>’s <strong>Slowcooker</strong>: use and maintenanceBefore first use: remove any terracotta deposits byrinsing the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> in water. Then, immerse theterracotta parts in warm water for at least 10 minutes inensure they absorb the water totally. You <strong>ca</strong>n then addyour ingredients ready for cooking.After filling it with your ingredients, place the <strong>Slowcooker</strong>in a cold oven. The oven must not be pre-heated orthe <strong>Slowcooker</strong> may crack as a result of the differencein temperature. The silicone rings allow you tostack two <strong>Slowcooker</strong>s on top of each other in theoven. A standard sized oven <strong>ca</strong>n fit a total of 4 stack<strong>Slowcooker</strong>s. Once in the oven, you <strong>ca</strong>n heat the ovento a maximum of 230°C. For the best results, it isadvisable to always place the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> in the middleof the oven for a better circulation of heat.When using a gas-oven, the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> should not beplaced on the floor of the oven but on a grill or bakingtray.The <strong>Slowcooker</strong> <strong>ca</strong>n be used in two ways: For meals forone person, place the white dish on the bottom and usethe terracotta part as a lid. For meals for 2-3 people, you<strong>ca</strong>n use the terracotta part as the bottom bowl and thewhite glazed dish as a lid. The silicone rings mean you<strong>ca</strong>n put the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> on your work surface withoutdamaging it. And even on your dinner table, the siliconerings continue to act as trivets for the protection of yourtable and the low cooker!The <strong>Slowcooker</strong> does not support large differences intemperature and therefore must not be placed directlyon a gas-flame or on a hot-plate.CleaningAfter use, the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> must be left to cool downbefore cleaning it with water, a soft brush and detergent.Do not use any abrasive or steel wool.When the <strong>Slowcooker</strong> is removed from the oven, it will bevery hot and you should always use oven-gloves.
