Grade 12 JSE School Excursion
On the 4 August, the matric accounting class of
2017 participated in one of the most exciting and
memorable experiences offered by the DSP to its
scholars. The JSE school excursion allowed for the small
yet vibrant group of accounting matrics to visit the
Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and to participate
in the orientation programme which gave them the
opportunity to; observe the working environment of
the business world, learn about the intricate dynamics
behind the administration of the JSE and to interact
with some of the working men and women for more
detailed information pertaining to the JSE.
Overall the accounting group found the trip most
beneficial as they left Sandton with more enlightened
perceptions of the JSE and newly found inspiration
to take initiative of their own lives in order to set
the foundation upon which they will build their
prospective business careers.
This excursion would not have been made possible
without the efforts of Frau Barnes. Like a true member
of the stock exchange she has invested her time, energy
and due diligence in the organisation and execution of
the trip in hopes that her pupils will find it enrichening
and educational, which they most certainly have.
In conclusion the trip was a total success and the
DSP can once more be proud of the positive impact it
has had on the lives of the youth and of the wonderful
teachers put in place to ensure that each scholar
receives the most fulfilling schooling experience.
