Gira eNet is the new bi-directional radio system for smart
networking and control of home technology. Light and blinds
can be easily integrated in scenes and controlled using a
wide range of operating devices – even mobile devices when
using the Gira eNet Server. eNet system installation and

die Klartextnamen und die Zuordnung der Zimmergeräte
müssen im System noch festgelegt werden. Sobald Einzelge-

automatischen Plausibilitätsprüfung selbst. Der Installateur
muss die Parametrierung dann nur noch bestätigen. Jedes
Gerät ist mit einem abziehbaren Aufkleber der eigenen ID
versehen, der nach der Installation auf einen Plan des Gebäudes
geklebt werden kann.
All devices feature a unique and one-time identification
number (ID), are preconfigured and thus ready for immediate
use. During installation they are automatically detected by

und effizient verwaltet werden.

Im Zusammenhang mit einer energie-
und kosteneffizienten Gebäudesteuerung
gewinnen auch SmartGrids immer
stärker an Bedeutung. Diese intelligenten
Stromnetze sind zukünftig notwendig,
um Schwankungen im Stromangebot
auszugleichen, die der vermehrte
Einsatz regenerativer Energiequellen
mit sich bringt. Sie sind in der Lage,
Strom und Informationen bidirektional
zu transportieren und bieten damit neue
Möglichkeiten der Stromnutzung. Gebäude
können so in Zukunft mit Energiemanagement-Systemen
ausgestattet
werden, die den individuellen Energiebedarf
selbstständig regulieren. Beispielsweise
können Waschmaschinen
oder andere Hausgeräte gezielt dann
gestartet werden, wenn der Strompreis
gerade günstig ist. Dagegen lässt sich
Strom, der z. B. mit einer eine Photovoltaikanlage
auf dem Dach erzeugt
wurde, bevorzugt für den eigenen Verbrauch
nutzen, wenn die Preise aktuell
auf einem höheren Niveau liegen.
Um den dafür notwendigen Informationsfluss
zwischen allen Teilnehmern
des SmartGrids zu ermöglichen, wird
eine gemeinsame Sprache für alle beteiligten
Systeme benötigt. Hier kommt
der EEBUS zum Einsatz: Als offener
Kommunikationsstandard „übersetzt“

regarding the efficient use of resources.
This is especially true for the building
area to which approximately 40 percent
of the overall energy requirement in
Germany is allocated. Especially the use
of intelligent building technology offers
a multitude of opportunities which
pay off both ecologically and financially
in the long run.
Saving energy with intelligent
building technology from Gira
Significant amounts of energy can be
saved with relatively simple methods,
at the same time coupled with more
ease of living. With numerous conventional
products and a radio system, Gira
provides diverse solutions which can be

Building technology is shaping up
for SmartGrids – with EEBUS
In connection with energy-saving and
cost-efficient building control, Smart-
Grids are also increasingly gaining
importance. These intelligent mains

electricity supply which will result from
the increased use of renewable energy
sources. They are able to transport
electricity and information bi-directionally
and offer new possibilities for the
use of energy. In the future, buildings

For example, washing machines or
other household appliances can be
selectively started at times when electricity
prices are lower. On the other
hand, e. g. the electricity which was
generated by a photovoltaic system on
the roof is used preferentially for the
building‘s own consumption when the
current electricity prices are higher.
A common language for all the participating
systems is required to facilitate
the required information flow between
all the SmartGrid devices. The EEBUS is
used here. As the open communication
standard, it „translates“ the various
building control protocols such as KNX,
ZigBee or uPnP for trouble-free communication
with SmartGrids.
In cooperation with numerous renowned

bietet das Gira TKS-IP-Gateway die
optimale Lösung. Es setzt die Signale
des Gira Türkommunikations-Systems
auf Netzwerkprotokollebene (IP) um
und ermöglicht dadurch die audiovisuelle
Türkommunikation über die Gira
Control Clients und den Computer.

(ATT). Die multifunktionale Wellnessdusche

Home Server für ein außergewöhnliches
Welnesserlebnis aus Wasser, Licht
und Sound.
Mit dem neuen Dornbracht-Plug-in für
das Gira Interface kann das Dornbracht
ATT-System einfach über die Gira Control

oder ein Internet-Radiosender

können über das Miele@home-
Gateway ganz einfach an den Gira
Home Server angebunden werden.
Mit dem neuen Miele Plug-in für das
Gira Interface kann dann der Betriebszustand
aller vernetzten Hausgeräte
über die Gira Control Clients oder am
Computer angezeigt werden. Je nach
Geräteklasse und Betriebszustand

Besonders komfortabel: In Kombination
mit dem HS-TV-Gateway können Statusmeldungen

systems: The UPnP Control Point plugin

can be used to control music or select
Internet radio stations.
The Revox entertainment system enables
playing back music, videos, images
and Internet contents via the television
set. Additionally, with the system
the Gira Interface can be controlled
directly on the television. The Revox
entertainment system serves as a link
between the Gira Home Server and the
television.
The Gira control unit M217 / M218 and
the Gira push button sensor 3 can be
selected to operate the Revox multiroom
system in individual rooms. Both
operating devices are integrated in the
Gira switch ranges and ensure the
uniform appearance of the complete

Photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and
Viessmann oil and gas heating systems
can be easily integrated in the Gira
KNX / EIB system using the Viessmann
Vitogate 200 EIB gateway. In this way,
a wide range of heating and energy
systems can be efficiently integrated in
the building’s energy management.
The new Viessmann plug-in for the
Gira Interface is now available to monitor
and control the various heating and
energy systems. With this plug-in,
users always have the operating state
of the heating system in view. Changes
can be made conveniently to the operating
mode using the Gira Control
Clients or a computer. Analysing the solar
generation of a photovoltaic system
is also possible with the plug-in. When
connected to a heat pump, the photovoltaic
system’s proportion of internal
consumption can also be recorded and
displayed as a graph.
Networking household
appliances easily
Washing machines, driers, ovens, dish -
washers and other Miele household
appliances can be easily connected to
the Gira Home Server via the Miele@
home gateway.
With the new Miele plug-in for the Gira
Interface, the operating state of all networked
household appliances can then
be displayed via Gira Control Clients or
on a computer. Depending on the device
class and operating state, the devices
can also be operated. Especially
convenient: In combination with the HS
TV-gateway, status messages and other
information can also be transmitted to
Loewe television sets, e. g. to inform
occupants when a wash cycle has been
completed.

Neue Anforderungen
an die Dimmtechnik
Durch die Umsetzung der europäischen
Ökodesign-Richtlinie 2005/32/EG sind
ab Herbst 2012 sämtliche Glühlampen
aus dem Handel verbannt. Als Alternativen
stehen energieeffiziente LED-
Leuchten sowie Energiesparlampen zur
Auswahl. Der Nachteil: Die neuen
Leuchtmittel lassen sich mit herkömmlichen
Dimmern oft gar nicht oder nur
mit unerwünschten Nebeneffekten dimmen,
wie z. B. Flackern oder einem unsteten
Dimmverlauf. Um auch in Zukunft
ein störungsfreies und normkonformes
Dimmen zu ermöglichen, wird
eine neue Technologie benötigt. Aus
diesem Grund haben die führenden
Elektromarken Gira, Jung, Merten und
Schneider gemeinsam mit dem Lampenhersteller
Osram den neuen industrieoffenen
Dimm-Standard LEDOTRON
entwickelt.

technology
Due to the implementation of the European
eco-design guideline 2005/32/EG,
all light bulbs have been banned from
sale beginning in the autumn of 2012.

sources can often either not be dimmed

darüber informiert, was intelligente
Gebäudetechnik heute alles bietet
und welche Lösungen sich damit realisieren
lassen. Die Kampagne macht
nicht nur den Umfang intelligenter
Funk tionen deutlich, sondern verweist
zugleich auf die Vielfalt an Produkten
und Lösungen für mehr Komfort,
höhere Sicherheit und eine verbesserte
Energieeffizienz. Auch 2012 setzt Gira
das erfolgreiche Kampagnen konzept
mit zahlreichen zentralen und regionalen
Maßnahmen fort.
The functional range of modern electrical
installation has expanded enormously
in the past years. Consequently,
since 2010 the Gira Competence Campaign
has been providing information
to building owners, architects and planners.
The campaign communicates
what intelligent building technology
now has to offer and what kinds of solutions
