Read about Peter´s daily routine and do the task
Peter is an Australien boy. He lives in Perth, Western
Australia. He lives with his family in a house at the
beach. He is twelve years old and he´s got an older brother,
Mike, and a younger sister, Sue.
He starts his day at about eight. He gets up, takes a
shower, brushes his teeth and gets dressed. Then he has
cereal for breakfast and at half past eight he leaves home
and walks to school. Classes begin at a quarter to nine. He
usually has lunch with his friends at school at one o´clock.
After school, at a quarter to four, he comes home. He
usually finishes his homework very quickly because he
doesn´t get a lot of homework. In the afternoon he goes
to the beach with his best friend Sam. He loves surfing
because the waves in the sea are great. He also plays
beach volleyball with some other kids there.
In the evening he has dinner with his family. His father and
mother love barbecue and so they often have steak and
burger for dinner. At about a quarter past eight he brushes
his teeth again, puts on his favourite pyjamas and goes to
bed. Before he falls asleep he loves to read. His favourite
book is Greg´s Diary.
My day begins at six thirty when my alarm clock rings. I usually get up at once,
make myself a strong cup of black tea and drink it while reading the morning
newspaper. After brushing my teeth and combing my hair I go to work. I takes
me abou thirty minutes by underground.
I start work at eight thirty, half an hour before any customers arrive. It´s the
biggest bookstore in town and I love working there. We also have a section for
second-hand books, one for antique books and one for contemporary books. I´m
in charge of 1 the second-hand section. People come in and give us the books they
want to sell and it´s my job to put them on display and se l them. Second-hand
books are usua ly cheaper than new ones and so there are always customers who want to save money
by buying used editions. Just last week one of my customers was looking for a book that no other
bookstore he wen to had in stock 2 and to his surprise I had it on display. He had been looking for it for a
long time and was very happy that he finally found it.
The shop closes at six but I don´t often leave before six thirty. There´s a lot of work to do a the end of the
day. On my way home I usua ly buy some groceries. At home I prepare dinner for me and my two
children. They do their homework before dinner and after dinner we usually watch an episode of our favourite
TV-series. Most days except a the weekend I´m in bed and asleep by ten.
