TT tables can be used indoors (indoor = i,

not weatherproof) or outdoors (outdoor = e,

weatherproof all year round). Non-weatherproof

TT tables must not be exposed to direct sunlight

or moisture. Weatherproof TT tables can be

placed outdoors all year round but must be

secured against gusts of wind or storms. In strong

sunlight, outdoor tables may experience warping of the

playing surface; however, this will return to normal under

typical climatic conditions.

TT tables are subject to the Equipment and Product Safety

Act. The EU standard EN 14468-1 applies throughout

Europe. All TT tables from Sponeta comply with this

standard and meet fundamental safety requirements. As

proof of their quality inspection, all Sponeta products are

marked with the GS seal (Tested Safety). Depending on

their area of use, they are classified as follows:

In general, for all TT tables, the playing characteristics

improve as the thickness of the playing surface increases.

A 19mm indoor chipboard surface provides a higher ball

bounce than a 16mm thick board, whilst a 22mm indoor

chipboard surface is even better than the 19mm one. The

same applies to weatherproof TT tables. A 6mm thick

melamine resin board offers better playing characteristics

than a 5mm or 4mm thick melamine resin board.

Melamine resin boards

Sponeta uses melamine resin boards for its weatherproof TT tables.

Other manufacturers equip their weatherproof TT tables with aluminium

compound plates. Although these materials differ fundamentally, their

playing characteristics are very similar. However, weatherproof TT tables

generally do not achieve the same playing characteristics as indoor tables!

Melamine resin boards are made of resin-impregnated paper layers, which

are pressed into rigid panels under high pressure and heat. These boards

are also commonly used in bathrooms, on house and exterior facades.

Ball rebounce

The ball rebounce is one of the most important criteria when choosing a

table tennis table. For professional players, additional factors such as gloss

level, coefficient of sliding friction and surface flatness tolerances are also

significant. Of course, design and price also play a key role.

According to the European standard the following rebounce heights are

specified for a drop height of 300mm:

Class A: 230 – 260mm

Class B: 230 – 260mm

Class C: 210mm

Class D: 180mm

(Average measurement taken from 16 + 4 measuring points)

Although the ball weighs only 2.7g, the rebounce height depends on the

thickness of the table tops, and therefore — its mass. Another crucial factor

is the surface on which the table is placed. For example, the ball rebounce

is higher on a hard surface like concrete than on a wooden/parquet floor in

a sports hall or on grass outdoors.

Undercarriage

The undercarriage supports the playing surface of the table tennis table

and provides stability. Depending on the type, various transport and

storage options are also available.

TT tables are divided into 6 types:

Type 1 Standard I (Standard model): Stationary model with an undercarriage

for the table that cannot be folded..

Type 2 Standard II (2 parts): Stationary model with two separate table

halves and and an undercarriage that can be folded.

Type 3 Semi-Compact (2 parts): A mobile table with two separate table

halves, each equipped with a foldable undercarriage.

Type 4 Automatic / Compact: A mobile table with a undercarriage for both

table halves, where one half can be folded independently from the other.

to Class A EN 14468-1, with additional testing of labelling, colors and the

On the melamine resin boards of the outdoor tables we give a

10-year warranty (for mechanical properties, impact and fracture

strength, weather resistance and lightfastness, according to our

warranty terms). Otherwise, the warranty claim follows the legal provisions

of 2 years.

Care and maintenance

No special cleaning is required. The playing surfaces can be cleaned with a

slightly damp cloth. The locking elements, as well as the wheels and hinges

should be checked regularly, at least once a year, for wear and functionality.

Weight

Depending on the model, the design, the surface and consequently the

weight of the table tennis table may vary.

Dimensions

All table tennis tables from Sponeta meet the international tournament

dimensions in the playing position (fully unfolded): L=274cm x W=152.5cm

x H=76cm. In the storage position (completely folded), the dimensions

may vary from model to model.

Packaging

Depending on the model and construction, different cartons and pallets

are used. Each table is packed in single or double cartons (160x144 cm,

with width depending on the model, 10-25 cm). Certain table models are

delivered fully assembled and ready to play on single transport pallets.

Assembly

The TT tables are delivered disassembled in a carton. Assembly is done

following the instructions, which include clear exploded drawings.

The assembly instructions are available in 8 languages, making them

internationally understandable. The assembly should generally be done by

two adults. The assembly time depends on the skill level of the individuals—

usually between 1 and 3 hours.

As a practical supplement to the assembly instructions, corresponding

assembly videos are available for all Sponeta TT models. The videos clearly

demonstrate step-by-step how to properly assemble the table tennis table

of your choice. All videos can be accessed via QR code on the assembly

instructions and are available on our YouTube channel:

Locking systems

The one-handed operation makes this securing system so convenient.

The noticeable handle is visible from all sides and at every position of the

table. Drawbar under the playing surface unlocks both safety devices

simultaneously. In the storage position, the playing surfaces must be

positioned vertically to ensure that the locking mechanisms automatically

engage. In the playing position, the locking mechanisms reliably engage before

reaching the horizontal position, ensuring high stability even on uneven

ground.

Handle system

In use with S 6-12/13 i, S 6-52/53 i, S 7-12/13, S 7-62/63

By using both hands to operate the metal handle under the frame, both locking

devices on the left and right can be unlocked simultaneously. The playing

surfaces can be moved from the storage to the playing position and from

the playing to the storage position using the handle system. In the storage

position, the playing surfaces must be positioned vertically to ensure that the

locking mechanisms automatically engage. In the playing position, the locking

mechanisms engage reliably before reaching the horizontal position, ensuring

high stability even on uneven ground.

Hook system

In use with S 1-12/13 i/e, S 1-26/27 i, S 3-46/47 i/e

By lifting the hook on one side and simultaneously gently pulling on the

playing surface, the first locking mechanism is unlocked. The second locking

mechanism can be released in the same way, allowing the playing

surface to be brought from the storage to the playing position. Folding the

table from the playing to the storage position is done without any additional

unlocking. Simply lift the surfaces and position them vertically until

the locking mechanisms audibly engage. The stability of the table against

pressure or pulling is ensured by the permanently attached net set.

Snap lock system

In use with S 7-22/23

The snap locks serve as the locking mechanism for the stand legs in both

the storage and playing position. By lifting the metal hook, the safety devices

unlock themselves, allowing the legs to be unfolded or folded. Through

a strong push of the metal stick on the cross support the locking mechanism

audibly engages.

Screw connection

In use with S 1-52/53 i

The screw connection is used to fix the stand legs in the playing position.

By loosening the wing nuts, the legs are unlocked and can be folded.

In use with S 1-42/43 i/e, S 1-72/73 i/e

By turning the handle 90°, the locking mechanism of the playing surface is unlocked

depending on the direction of rotation. After unlocking the opposite

side, the playing surface can be brought from the storage to the playing position

and from the playing to the storage position.

Depending on the model and constructive requirements,

different locking systems are used.

All locking systems can generally be operated by a single

person.

Type A:

Single carton for vertical transport. A sturdy single carton for 1 TT

table with 2 playing surfaces, frame profiles (not for all models),

undercarriage, model identification and EAN code.

Type B:

Double carton for vertical transport. 2 sturdy cartons for 1 TT table, with

1 playing surface, the frame profile and undercarriage in 1 carton each,

model identification and EAN code.

Type C:

Pallet shipping for vertical transport. 4 or 5 sturdy single cartons per

pallet (depending on the model), model identification, EAN code,

cartons protected by side panels on the pallet, transport feet approximately

10 cm (H2). Pallet dimensions: H=170 cm x W=48 cm x L=148 cm.

Only one model per pallet!

Type D:

Pallet shipping for horizontal transport. One-way pallet with TT tables. Horizontal

transport. Sturdy cartons from packaging variants Type A and/or

Type B. The pallets are commissioned order-related only; several models

with varying quantities can be packed. The pallets are wrapped in foil.

Pallet dimensions:

(1): L=162 cm, W=144 cm, H3=12 cm (45 kg).

Stacking height: max. approx. 180 cm.

Pallet weight: max. 1.200 kg.

Type E:

Single transport pallet

Disposable pallet for shipping individual, fully assembled TT tables.

The pallets are wrapped in foil. The dimensions of the pallet depend

on the specific packed model. The width ranges from 55 cm to

65 cm. Pure pallet weight: approximately 24 kg.
