FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS
OF CAPTAIN BÖSE OVER
THE PAST 200 YEARS
A HOUSE IN TRANSITION
In 1877, the Bohls family acquired the
property and opened the
"Waldschlösschen" (forest castle)
restaurant on the Bösehof. In 1957, the
business went into the hands of Günter
Manke, who expanded the restaurant
and added a second house. 50 beds and
an indoor swimming pool were part of
the first hotel at the Bösehof.
Heinrich Böse, sugar manufacturer,
politician and benefactor, also known as
" Der Besten Einer" (one of the best),
chose this beautiful site for his
retirement in 1826. He was known as a
talented public speaker and for his
philanthropy, which included the
distribution of food to people in need in
times of hardship.

In the year 2000, the second hotel
building was built and the wellness area
expanded. And to this day we, hostess
Natascha Grotjohann and the entire
team, continue to strive every day to
provide you with a unique vacation
experience in the magnificent Elbe-
Weser region. While looking back on our
history with pride, we also look forward
with courage.

in the quiet small town of Geestland in
the Cuxland region. In the Elbe-Weser
region, the North Sea and the cities of

Freshly opened and already a true highlight in
the region: Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Loxstedt is
an ideal destination for families with children,
as well as for anyone who wants to experience
rural charm with a creative twist.
The spacious grounds offer a wide range of
attractions – from a lovingly designed farmer’s
market with regional products to rides and
play areas. Especially popular with children:
the large corn play barn, the strawberry
caterpillar ride, and the giant potato sack
slide.
Those who enjoy browsing will find
homemade jams, candies, and handcrafted
decorations in the market hall. Culinary
delights are also well taken care of – with
seasonal treats and quirky ideas like soft-serve
ice cream served in a toilet bowl (just for
show, of course!).
Admission to the adventure village is free.
Many attractions can be enjoyed at no cost,
while a small fee applies to some rides.

A trip to Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Loxstedt is well
worth it – not only for families, but also for
couples and day visitors looking to spend a
relaxed and entertaining day surrounded by
nature, with a touch of humor and the sweet
scent of strawberries in the air.
Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Loxstedt is open daily
year-round from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. –
regardless of the season. This means you can
visit the adventure village at any time of year.
Please note, however, that some outdoor
attractions are weather-dependent and may
be temporarily unavailable during
unfavorable conditions.
