LAKE BEDERKESA

Lake Bad Bederkesa is just a short 15-minute

walk from the hotel and is located right next

to the castle. Right there, the canal and the

lake intersect.

Along the shore is situated a lake trail, about 7

kilometers long, which leads through the

dense Holzurburger forest. The path is well

maintained and allows you to enjoy a relaxed

two-hour walk along the lake.

The Halemer See can be easily reached by car

or bike. From there, an approximately 17 km

long circular lake trail leads through the

beautiful moorland landscape all the way

around the two merged lakes.

Along the way, three panoramic viewing

towers offer direct access to the lake and a

breathtaking view over the water - the perfect

spot for a picnic.

BEERSTER PADD

The circular path from Bederkesa via Alfstedt

starts at the Beerster windmill, which is

located about 800m from the hotel.

Stretching over a distance of around 6.5 km,

the trail leads through scenic forests, along

cultivated fields and farms. Throughout the

trail, hikers will find informative signs that

provide insights into local agriculture.

PRE-HISTORY PATH FLÖGELN

The Flögeln prehistory trail stretches between

the villages of Flögeln and Fickmühlen and

and is located around 8 km away from the

hotel. The roughly 2 km long circular trail

leads through the Flögeln Wood national

forest and offers visitors the opportunity to

explore 30 prehistoric and medieval ground

monuments, including 26 burial mounds

alongside trails and raised fields. The largest

burial mound has a diameter of around 25

meters and a height of approx. 2.5 meters,

probably dating back to around 1800 B.C. In

addition, the outlines of medieval paths and

raised fields can be discerned in the

landscape.

High and low tides are periodic

fluctuations in water levels that

are caused by the attraction of the

moon and the sun. During low

tide, the water recedes and

reveals the seabed, exposing part

of the beach. Providing a great

opportunity for taking pleasant

walks and collecting shells.

At high tide, the water rises back

up again and covers the beach.

This is the perfect time for water

sports such as swimming, surfing

and sailing. Take note of the tides

The beach at Dorum Neufeld with the Watt'n

Bad outdoor wave pool offers guests a

fantastic location on the Wadden Sea

UNESCO World Heritage Site. The green

shore borders the fishing harbor and the

lighthouse monument “Obereversand”. You

will find plenty of beach chairs for rent from

which you can enjoy the view onto the

Wadden Sea. There are numerous parking

spaces, public toilets and showers provided. A

separate dog beach with a gated off-leash

area is also available. The outdoor wave pool

Watt'n Bad allows you to swim at all hours

during the main season, regardless of the

tide.

GREEN BEACH OTTERNDORF

On this stretch of beach, you can relax on a

sunbathing lawn with beach cabins and

admire the passing ships on their way to and

from the Elbe. Volleyball and soccer pitches

are available for sporting activities. In case you

get hungry, you can stop off at the Freibeuter

Beachbar on the green beach or at the snack

bars behind the dyke. Showers, foot showers

and public toilets are available directly on the

outer dyke or right behind the dyke. During

the summer vacations, the bathing area is

monitored daily by the DLRG lifeguard service

from Lower Saxony and North Rhine-

Westphalia.

BEACH WREMEN

In Wremen, visitors are treated to an idyllic

landscape with a historic bathing cart from

which you can rent beach chairs to watch

the passing ships. Since 2012, Wremen has

held the title of “Most family-friendly place

in Cuxland” (North Sea newspaper reader

poll). The shallow water on this stretch of

coast also makes it possible for children to

splash around in the North Sea. In addition,

there is a small fishing harbor and the

Kleiner Preuße lighthouse.

BEACH CAPPEL-NEUFELD

Cappel-Neufeld, located between Spieka-

Neufeld and Dorum-Neufeld, is one of four

places on the Wurster North Sea coast with a

charming green beach. What makes this

place special: A nudist beach and a textile

beach are situated immediately beside each

other. Two separate footbridges lead into the

water, there are two children's playgrounds

and plenty of parking spaces - everyone is

free to unwind on their own terms here.

The mudflats off Cappel-Neufeld are perfect

for long walks or Nordic walking.

Cuxhaven offers visitors a fascinating mix of

Sahlenburg presents nature in a unique

forest. From the beach, you can enjoy a view

of the island of Neuwerk, which is within close

the evening, fascinating sunsets can be

watched from the beach promenade, the

perfect way to end the day.

This is also where you will find the Cuxhaven

climbing park, a high ropes course with a

view of the Wadden Sea.

NATURE BEACH CAPE JAKOB,

OTTERNDORF

The idyllic beach of Cape Jakob is the result of

natural sand deposits and offers a pristine

bathing area with its surrounding reed belt

and direct access to the sailing harbor. As a

natural beach, visitors may come across

various marine finds such as driftwood.

Bathing on this beach is at your own risk, as it

is not an officially designated bathing area

and is not supervised by the DLRG lifeguard

service.

golf course. Water sports enthusiasts can try

Lake Flögeln offers excellent water quality

and is located at 8 km distance from the

hotel. It is best reached by bike or car, but a

walk to Flögeln is also possible.

An idyllic bathing lake for unforgettable

summer days with the entire family! A sandy

beach with a spacious sunbathing lawn

Furthermore, you will find a kiosk and a

children's playground directly on the lake

shore.

The lighthouse is the symbol of Dorum. From

the viewing platform at a height of 37.40

meters, you have an awe-inspiring view of the

Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,

which was declared a UNESCO World

Heritage Site in 2009. During a guided tour of

the tower, visitors can gain an insight into the

life and work of the lighthouse keepers in the

late 19th century.

LIGHT HOUSE KLEINER PREUSSE,

WREMEN

The Kleiner Preuße is a faithful replica of the

Weser lighthouse, which was dismantled in

1930. The Kleiner Preuße was rebuilt

according to the original blueprints and

returned to its place at the Wremer fishing

harbor on April 14, 2005 after 75 years. The

lighthouse is a new “old” landmark that gives

the harbor an additional maritime flair. From

there, you have a magnificent view of the

Weser estuary. On top of this, the lighthouse

serves as a branch of the Wurster

Nordseeküste registry office, so couples can

also say “I do” right there!

ALTE LIEBE, CUXHAVEN

The Alte Liebe, a two-storey wooden structure

dating back to 1733, was originally used as a

jetty and breakwater. Nowadays, ships leave

from here for the islands of Neuwerk and

Heligoland as well as the seal banks. Visitors

mainly come here to marvel at the large ships

from all over the world that pass close by. The

Cuxhaven Ship Announcement Service

informs visitors about the size, origin and

destination of passing ships on the Alte Liebe

between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. throughout the

day from April to October.

NEUHAUS OSTE

Extending over a lap length of around 900

meters, the lift is equipped with six masts that

are up to twelve meters high. The lift allows

up to eleven people to water ski or

wakeboard at the same time. The water ski

and wakeboard facility in Neuhaus (Oste) has

a spacious slider park with ten features

waiting to be conquered on a wakeboard.

cooper still exist.

The work processes of basket makers,

WINDMILL OF BAD BEDERKESA

The fully functional mill offers a wealth of

knowledge and can be explored all the way

'from top to bottom'. Visitors have the

floors of the mill, right up to a balcony on the

mill's roof, from where they can enjoy a

breathtaking view of the town, the lake and

the North German countryside.

HISTORICAL TRAIN

BREMERHAVEN - BAD BEDERKESA

As part of the construction of the

Bremerhaven-Cuxhaven railroad line,

Bederkesa was also connected to the railroad

network. Operations officially began on June

1, 1896, but were discontinued on May 24, 1968

and replaced by a bus line operated by KVG

Stade. Freight transport ceased operations on

December 31, 1993.

Since its foundation in 1990, the

Museumsbahn Bremerhaven - Bederkesa e.V.

association has operated the line in the form

of a museum to recreate conditions of rail

traffic in the 1950s.

Built in the 17th century, it was formerly

The story of Yuki in the year 2390 and Roland
