Having started operations in the plastics technology
in dustry in 1960, the Kunststoff-Zentrum (KuZ)
in Leipzig has comprehensive expertise in the processing
of thermoplastics and polyurethane. Our
fields of work include design, tool en gineering and
processing technologies, as well as materials development,
welding technology and plastics testing.

Our skills and performance capabilities stretch along

focus is providing technical and technological support for
processors and users of plastics, whether by means of on-

site approaches at the respective company or by solving
individual tasks in house at the KuZ.
This involves consultations with regard to design and production
issues concerning the optimization of production
processes, as well as the design and optimization of tools.
Many years of experience and the use of state-of-the-art
instruments such as simulation processes ensure effective
solutions. Other issues include the structural and procedural
handling of joining tasks by means of modern plastic
welding processes.
Innovation and efficiency are crucial when competing
with companies at the top or middle of the field. In the
plastics industry, this includes highly effective and flexible
technologies and the use of new types of materials and
material combinations. An example of this is the process
combination of thermoplastic injection molding and re active
polyurethane technology, for which application solutions
are developed at the KuZ.
In the Accredited Testing Laboratory there are ex perienced
materials scientists, physicists, chemists and laboratory
assistants, as well as state-of-the-art test equipment
available for you, for testing samples and for resolving tough
problems regarding disruptions to production or damage
analyses.
