Neue Mautsoftware
New toll software
Mit der neuen Software OBU 2.0 können
Spediteure das Programm ihrer On
Board Units (OBUs) aktualisieren. Die
Software soll das Lkw-Mautsystem flexibler
machen und ab 2006 Informationen
automatisch auf eingebaute
Geräte übertragen. OBU 2.0 ist beim
Toll-Collect-Servicepartner erhältlich. �
Haulage contractors can update their
on-board units (OBUs) with the new
OBU 2.0 software. This program is aimed
at adding flexibility to the HGV toll
system in Germany and from 2006 it will
automatically transmit information to
the systems. OBU 2.0 is available from
Toll Collect Service Partners. �

Transit ban in view for 2005
Stimmt die oberbayrische Regierung zu,
könnte München bald den Lkw-Durchgangsverkehr
aus dem Stadtgebiet verbannen.
Die Stadt soll für Lkw über
7,5 Tonnen, die kein Ziel in München
anfahren, gesperrt werden. Ein Transitverbot
könnte ab Herbst gelten. �
If the government of Upper Bavaria gives
the go-ahead, Munich could soon ban all
HGV through-traffic from the city. The
plan is to ban all HGVs weighing more
than 7.5 tonnes that are not going to
destinations in Munich. The transit ban
could come into force this autumn. �

aufzunehmen. Über 55
Prozent der 3.262 befragten Autofahrer
konnten mit der ihnen vorgespielten
Verkehrsmeldung nichts anfangen. �

association Auto Club Europa, many
drivers have difficulty taking in pertinent
details from radio traffic and travel
news. More than 55 percent of the 3,262
drivers questioned could not make any
sense of a recorded traffic bulletin. �

Die Aktion für die vom Juli-Hochwasser
überschwemmte Ortschaft im Salzburger
Oberpinzgau rief KRONE Partner Stotter &
Wagner aus Guntramsdorf ins Leben.
Geschäftsführer Christian Stotter, dessen
Unternehmen seit 1999 Partner von
KRONE ist, verbrachte dort seine Kindheit.
„Wir haben schon nach dem Jahrhundert-
Hochwasser 2002 geholfen, nun wollten
wir natürlich wieder Engagement zeigen“,
erklärt Dr. Krone den Einsatz. �

Produktion und Absatz von Nutzfahrzeugen
haben sich auch dieses Jahr gut
entwickelt. Das teilte der Verband der
Automobilindustrie (VDA) Anfang August
mit. Im bisherigen Jahresverlauf legte die
Fertigung von leichten Nutzfahrzeugen
gegenüber dem Vorjahresvolumen um
13 Prozent, jene von schweren um 16 Prozent
zu. Vor allem Erdöl exportierende
Staaten schätzen deutsche Qualitätsarbeit.
So setzten heimische Hersteller bis August
um 14 Prozent mehr Lkw bis sechs Tonnen
und 24 Prozent mehr Lkw über sechs
Tonnen im Ausland ab. Der deutsche Markt
verlief zwar ruhiger, bewegte sich bei den
Neuzulassungen aber nahe dem hohen
Ergebnis des Vorjahres. Die anhaltend gute
Auftragssituation bei deutschen Erzeugern
lässt auch für die kommenden Monate eine
stabile Geschäftssituation erwarten. �

that Dr. Bernard Krone
recently donated, on the
spur of the moment, to the
Austrian relief programme
“Aid for Mittersill”. This fundraising
drive for the village of
Mittersill, which was badly
affected by the July floods, was set up by
KRONE partners Stotter & Wagner, based
in Guntramsdorf. Mittersill, in Oberpinzgau
near Salzburg, was the childhood home of
CEO Christian Stotter, whose company has
been involved with KRONE since 1999.
Dr. Krone had this to say about the
donation: “We did what we could to help in
the aftermath of the freak floods in 2002,
so naturally we wanted to get involved
again on this occasion.” �
Nutzfahrzeuggeschäft wächst weiter
Growth goes on in the commercial vehicles sector
According to the German Automobile
Industry Association (VDA), production
and sales of commercial vehicles have
continued to boom throughout the year.
Compared to the previous year’s figures,
manufacture of light commercial vehicles
has increased by 13 percent, and by
16 percent for heavy vehicles. The oilexporting
countries are the biggest fans of
German quality: in the year to August,
German manufacturers had exported
14 percent more 6-tonne-and-under HGVs
and 24 percent more over six tonnes.
Although action on the German internal
market has been quieter, registrations of
new vehicles approached the top levels of
the previous year. The sustained high level
of orders enjoyed by German manufacturers
points to a similarly positive business
climate in the coming months. �
