In this edition, as always, you will find reports about our locations,
information about new products, technologies and competencies
and a presentation of one of our customers – in this case, Honda.
We will also provide information on the POLYTEC GROUP shareholders’
meeting held in May this year and update you with all the reviews
on recent trade fairs, road shows and presentations.
I am pleased that POLYTEC WORLD is not only met with keen interest
amongst our employees, but more and more often we receive very
positive comments from customers which we will share with you in
future issues.
The articles for further editions are already planned, but topics of
special interest are gladly accepted. Tell us what would particularly
interest you, and we will try to research this information and report
about it.
In conclusion, I would like to address the implications of the current
market conditions.
We find ourselves in a situation characterised by a peak in the utility
vehicles market, a rather static passenger vehicle industry in Europe,
the problems facing the automotive industry in the USA and the
massive raw material and energy price increases. The suppliers are
faced with a difficult situation which will not be solved without decisive
support and without the proper understanding of the industry
and the need to build good working partnerships.
Despite these difficulties, the POLYTEC GROUP will face the challenge
and do its utmost to continue on its successful course.
In this spirit, I wish all of you lots of fun and interest in our POLYTEC
WORLD.

Sehr geehrte Leserinnen und Leser!
In dieser Ausgabe finden Sie, wie immer Berichte zu unseren Standorten,
zu einem unserer Kunden – in diesem Fall zur Firma Honda,
Informationen zu neuen Produkten, Technologien und Kompetenzen
der POLYTEC GROUP.
Darüber hinaus über die im Mai abgehaltene Hauptversammlung der
POLYTEC GROUP und Rückblicke auf diverse Messen, Roadshows und
Präsentationen.
Es freut mich, dass unsere Berichterstattung in der POLYTEC WORLD
nicht nur reges Interesse bei unseren MitarbeiterInnen findet sondern
auch immer öfter sehr positive Kommentare dazu seitens unserer
Kunden abgegeben werden.
Für die weiteren Ausgaben sind die Beiträge bereits geplant, wir sind
jedoch gerne bereit Themen auf besonderen Wunsch aufzunehmen
– sagen Sie uns, was Sie besonders interessieren würde und wir werden
versuchen, diese Informationen zu recherchieren und darüber
zu berichten.
Zum Schluss möchte ich noch mit wenigen Sätzen auf den Markt, der
uns umgibt, eingehen.
Wir befinden uns in einer Situation, die geprägt ist, von einer Hochphase
im Bereich der Nutzfahrzeuge, einer eher in Europa nicht
wachsenden PKW-Industrie, einer problematischen Situation der
Automobilindustrie in den USA und von massiven Erhöhungen der
Preise bei Rohstoffen und Energie. Die Lieferanten stehen vor einer
schwierigen Situation, die ohne entscheidende Unterstützung und
mit dem richtigen Verständnis der Automobilindustrie im Sinne von
gelebten Partnerschaften, nicht zu lösen sein wird.
Trotz dieser Schwierigkeiten wird die POLYTEC GROUP alles daran
setzen den bisherigen Erfolgskurs fortzusetzen.
In diesem Sinne wünsche ich Ihnen allen viel Spaß und Interesse an
unserer POLYTEC WORLD.

The founder and mentor of Honda
Motor Co. Ltd. was born on 17
November 1906 in Komyo, a village
in Central Japan. He spent his
childhood helping his father with
his bicycle repair business and later
obtained an apprenticeship in
a garage in Tokyo.
In 1925, he helped in the construction
of race cars. The successful
career as a racer, which he had
begun simultaneously, came to an
abrupt end after a serious accident,
immediately prior to which
he and his brother, travelling at an
average speed of 120 km/h, had
set the Japanese speed record.
Honda‘s recent models: /
Honda‘s jüngste Modelle:
In 1937, he founded the pistonring
manufacturing company
Tokai Seiki Heavy Industry Co.
Ltd.
One of his customers at the time
was Toyota. He studied metallurgy
all night, in order to improve his
products. The knowledge he acquired
enabled him to secure his
survival, when the automobile industry,
in the post war period, was
caught in a wave of bankruptcies.
After the war, Japan was virtually
immobilised and lacking even in
simple means of transport. Having
realised this, Soichiro Honda
started building his motorbikes
– simple motor-assisted bicycles,
for which people queued up.
It was Soichiro Honda’s foresight
to see crises as opportunities,
and the fact that the
peoples’ needs fuelled his innovations
would soon bestow
the industry with a number of
improvements and Honda Motor
Co. Ltd, with a position in
global ranking.
Since the establishment of its first
plant in Belgium in 1963, Honda
has extended its European production
with plants in Italy, France
and Spain.
The local procurement of parts
has resulted in the formation of
truly symbiotic relationships between
these suppliers and Honda’s
national branches.
The confidence placed in these
local suppliers was a major factor
in Honda’s integration in the
European market.
Honda of the U.K. Mfg. was
established in 1985 and its
production of complete cars in
the UK began in 1992.
Today, Honda is exporting products
from its European branches
all over the continent, to the Mid
East and to Africa.
With the intention of supporting
the sale of accessories to these
markets, Honda Access was founded
in October 1991 as a branch
of Honda Access Japan; business
began to operate in May 1992.
Then, in April 1995, Honda Access
Europe N.V. (HACE) was founded
as an independent company. The
registered office is located in Aalst
(Belgium), in the proximity of
Honda’s European logistics headquarters
in Gent. It enjoys simple
communication channels to the
Honda branches all over Europe.

Der Gründer und geistige Vater
der Honda Motor Co. Ltd. wurde
am 17.11.1906 in Komyo, einem
Dorf in Zentral-Japan, geboren.
Als Junge half er seinem Vater bei
der Fahrradreparatur, später wurde
er Lehrling in einer Autowerkstatt
in Tokyo.
1925 half er bei der Konstruktion
von Rennwagen und startete parallel
eine erfolgreiche Karriere als
Rennfahrer. Ein schwerer Unfall
beendete diese - jedoch hatten
er und sein Bruder mit 120 km/h
Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit
den japanischen Rekord für die
nächsten 20 Jahre gesetzt.

1937 gründete er die Firma
Tokai Seiki Heavy Industry Co.
Ltd., die sich mit der Herstellung
von Kolbenringen beschäftigte.
Zu dieser Zeit gehörte unter anderem
auch Toyota zu seinen Kunden.
Nächtelang studierte er Metallkunde,
um seine Produkte zu
verbessern, und sicherte so selbst
durch die Nachkriegs-Pleitewelle
hindurch ein Überleben.
Denn nach dem Krieg war die japanische
Mobilität praktisch gleich
Null und einfache Transportmöglichkeiten
waren Mangelware. Dies
hatte Soichiro Honda erkannt und
baute seine ersten Motorräder -
einfache Fahrräder mit Hilfsmotor,
nach denen die Menschen schon
bald Schlange standen.
Soichiro Hondas Prinzip, Krisen
als Chancen zu betrachten, und
die Bedürfnisse der Menschen
als Motor für seine Neuerungen
zu verwenden, bescherte der
Industrie eine Vielzahl von Innovationen
und der Honda Motor
Co. Ltd. einen Platz in der
Weltrangliste.
Beginnend mit dem ersten Werk
in Belgien im Jahr 1963, hat
Honda seine Produktion mit der
Gründung europäischer Werke in
Italien, Frankreich und Spanien
ausgeweitet.
Die lokale Beschaffung von Teilen
hat zur Bildung wahrhaft symbiotischer
Beziehungen zwischen
diesen Zulieferern und den nationalen
Niederlassungen geführt.
Dieses Vertrauen in lokale Zulieferer
war ein wichtiger Faktor für die
Integration von Honda auf dem
europäischen Markt.
Honda of the U.K. Mfg. wurde
1985 gegründet und 1992 begann
die komplette Fahrzeugproduktion
in Großbritannien.
Heute exportiert Honda Produkte
von seinen europäischen Niederlassungen
in alle Teile des Kontinents
sowie in den Mittleren Osten
und nach Afrika.
Zur Unterstützung des Verkaufes
und Vertriebes wurde Honda
Access im Oktober 1991 als Niederlassung
von Honda Access
Japan gegründet und im Mai 1992
wurde der Geschäftsbetrieb aufgenommen.
Dann, im April 1995, wurde
Honda Access Europe N.V. (HACE)
als unabhängiges Unternehmen
gegründet.
Der Geschäftssitz ist in Belgien
(Aalst), nahe Hondas europäischem

Even before the 1992 foundation
of HACE in Aalst, POLYTEC
FOR, which was then known
as FOHA, had already started
a successful cooperation with
Honda Europe and developed a
rear spoiler made of PUR Rigid
for the Prelude.
Not least due to the know-how
acquired as a trend-setter in the
production of rear spoilers with
LED brake lights, POLYTEC FOR, in
cooperation with HACE and the
R&D Centre in Offenbach, Germany,
then developed rear spoilers
for Accord, Civic and Prelude.
It has since continuously developed
styling kits in PUR R-RIM
for HACE and rear spoilers in PUR
RIGID for several generations and
variants of the Accord and Civic
series. The rear spoilers, in particular,
were delivered in a painted
version, too.
POLYTEC FOR benefited from the
competency which it had acquired
in the PUR RIM technology also in
the manufacturing of front guards,
fenders extensions and door
panels for SUV‘s such as CR-V and
HR-V. Other “high-lights” were
the painted roof spoiler with integrated
chrome part for the CR-V
and a running board of combined
aluminium and plastic parts.
Since the launch of the Honda
Jazz, which started the track record
of the side and bumper protectors,
POLYTEC FOR has been
supplying these products, both in
painted and unpainted versions,
for the entire range of cars.
Due to its good performance in
the automobile industry, POLYTEC
FOR also attracted the attention
of the motorbike industry. The
first project, a wind deflector for
the SH125/150, was realised in
2000. Other projects for the Pan-
European, Deauville and CBF soon
followed.
For the Civic, POLYTEC FOR currently
supplies a PP or ABS styling
kit as well as a rear spoiler and
side and bumper protectors in a
painted version. For the Accord,
it supplies painted front grills,
ABS rear spoilers and PU side and
bumper protectors.
Due to the variety of products,
most of which in painted version,
POLYTEC FOR has become
one of HACE’s biggest suppliers.
The fact that it was awarded several
prizes over the past years
and the 2006 nomination as best
supplier demonstrate that the
service and performance provided
by POLYTEC FOR are met with acclaim
on the part of Honda.

Der Wunsch nach Ausdruck
der Individualität als Basis
des gemeinsamen Erfolges.
Bereits vor der Gründung von
HACE in Aalst im Jahr 1992
konnten die POLYTEC FOR, da-
mals noch als FOHA bekannt,
eine erfolgreiche Zusammen-
arbeit mit Honda Europe
starten und entwickelte für
den Prelude einen Heckspoiler
aus PUR RIGID.
In der Folge konnte POLYTEC
FOR, nicht zuletzt aufgrund des
Know-Hows, das man sich als
Trendsetter in Europa im Bereich
der Heckspoiler mit LED Bremsleuchten
angeeignet hatte, auch
die Heckspoiler für Accord, Civic
und Prelude zusammen mit HACE
und dem R&D Center in Offen-
bach, Deutschland realisieren.
Seither wurden laufend für HACE
Styling Kits in PUR R-RIM und
Heckspoiler in PUR RIGID für
mehrere Generationen und Vari-
anten der Modellreihen Accord
und Civic entwickelt. Speziell die
Heckspoiler wurden auch in lackierter
Ausführung geliefert.
POLYTEC FOR konnte die Kompetenz
in der PUR RIM Technologie
ebenso für SUV’s wie CR-V und
HR-V nutzen, um Frontschutzbügel,
Kotflügelverbreiterungen und
Türverkleidungen herzustellen.
Weitere Highlights waren der
lackierte Dachspoiler mit integriertem
Chromteil für den CR-V,
sowie ein Trittbrett in einer Kombination
aus Aluminium und
Kunststoffteilen.
Mit dem Verkaufsstart des
Honda Jazz begann auch die
Erfolgsgeschichte der Seiten-
und Stoßfängerschutzleisten, die
POLYTEC FOR seither für die gesamte
Fahrzeugpalette sowohl in
unlackierter als auch lackierter
Ausführung liefert.
Aufgrund der gezeigten Kompetenz
im Autobereich wurde
auch die Motorradsparte auf die
POLYTEC FOR aufmerksam und
im Jahre 2000 konnte als erstes
Projekt ein Windabweiser für die
SH125/150 realisiert werden. Es
folgten weitere Projekte für die
Pan-European, Deauville und CBF.
Aktuell liefert POLYTEC FOR für
den Civic ein Styling Kit aus PP
bzw. ABS sowie einen Heckspoiler
und Seiten- und Stoßfängerschutzleisten
in lackierter Ausführung.
Weiters lackierte Frontgrills,
Heckspoiler aus ABS sowie Seiten-
und Stoßfängerschutzleisten aus
PU für das Modell Accord.
Die Vielzahl an Produkten, großteils
in lackierter Ausführung,
macht die POLYTEC FOR zu einem
der größten Lieferanten
bei HACE.
Mehrere Auszeichnungen in den
letzten Jahren sowie die Nominierung
zum besten Lieferanten im
Jahr 2006 beweisen, dass Service
und Performance der POLYTEC
FOR bei Honda große Anerkennung
finden.

First contacts between POLYTEC
AVO and Honda started in
2001.
It was clear from the beginning
that POLYTEC AVO could offer
Honda a wide range of parts.

The first project was a pannier
stay for motorbikes. A difficult
project at the start, but it was finished
on time.
As the required timing is sometimes
very critical, the short distance
between our companies
and the fact that POLYTEC AVO is
handling multiple projects proved
to be an advantage.
Gradually more projects were realised,
and today there are about
35 active parts delivered in low
and medium volume quantities.
Needless to say that Honda become
for POLYTEC AVO an important
customer in the last 7 years,
and this with nice products with
a high technical standard as is
common for a market leader.
In June 2008, POLYTEC AVO received
the award in appreciation
of „Best Overall Performance for
Motorcycle Accessories“ from
Honda Access Europe.

Die ersten Kontakte zwischen
POLYTEC AVO und Honda gehen
auf das Jahr 2001 zurück.
Von Anfang an stand fest, dass
POLYTEC AVO ein umfangreiches
Angebot an Teilen für
Honda bereitstellen kann.
Die Zusammenarbeit begann mit
einem Kofferhalter für Motorräder.
Das Projekt konnte, obwohl
für den Anfang nicht gerade einfach,
rechtzeitig fertig gestellt
werden.
Da die erforderlichen Zeitvorgaben
mitunter sehr knapp bemessen
sind, erweist es sich als Vorteil,
dass unsere Unternehmen dicht
beieinander liegen und POLYTEC
AVO Projekte der verschiedensten
Art abwickelt.
Die Anzahl der umgesetzten
Projekte ist nach und nach gewachsen,
so werden zum gegenwärtigen
Zeitpunkt etwa 35 Teile
in geringen und mittleren Stückzahlen
geliefert.

Es braucht kaum gesagt zu werden,
dass Honda sich in den vergangenen
sieben Jahren zu einem
wichtigen Kunden der POLYTEC
AVO entwickelt hat; und dies mit
wunderschönen Produkten, die -
wie bei einem Marktführer gar
nicht anders möglich – einen
hohen technischen Standard aufweisen.
Im Juni 2008 wurde POLYTEC AVO
von Honda Access Europe mit dem
Award „Best Overall Performance
for Motorcycles Accessories“ ausgezeichnet.

POLYTEC HOLDEN
POLYTEC HOLDEN which is part of the POLYTEC CAR STYLING
DIVISION is the only POLYTEC Plant in the UK.
It is situated in the heart of rural
England in the small market
town of Bromyard. Traveling by
car it is about one hour South
West of Birmingham and about
two hours North West of London.
The site covers 23,000 square
meters and the buildings occupy
approximately 8,500 square
meters.

POLYTEC HOLDEN operates three
core manufacturing processes:
Polyurethane R-RIM moulding,
blow moulding and painting. The
engineering, testing, logistics,
sales and administration necessary
to support these core processes
are also located on site.
Exclusively automotive, POLYTEC
HOLDEN specialises in the design
and manufacture of painted exterior
trim parts for low and medium
volume applications.
Unusually, more than 65 % of
POLYTEC HOLDEN production goes
direct to OEMs, whilst 30 % is for
the Genuine Accessory market.
66 % of POLYTEC HOLDEN production
is for export, with Germany
being the largest single export
market.
With the close co-operation of
POLYTEC FOHA, POLYTEC HOLDEN
sends 13 % of its output to the
USA.
Depending on the actual activity
levels there are 300 employees.
The original business was founded
in 1969 and specialised in the
hydraulic manipulation of metal
sheet and tube. Stretch formed
metal bumpers were part of the
product portfolio in those early
days.

The first plastics moulding was
made in 1973.
Polyurethane R-RIM was the selected
technology and exterior
trim was the target market. With
the demand for reinforced PUR
R-RIM parts increasing, POLYTEC
HOLDEN bought new machines
and presses from Krauss Maffei
and has continued to upgrade
its capacity and technologies
alongside the growing customer
demand. PUR R-RIM technology
offers the high quality and low
entry cost that is essential to be
competitive in the low and medium
volume sectors.
The first body coloured painted
part was produced 10 years later
in 1983.
Driven by demand from ROVER
GROUP, the plastics business grew
rapidly and the metal business
was sold off in 1986.
A second much larger paint
plant was commissioned in
1991 and the original plant
converted to warehousing.
The plant has been developed to
fit the demand of its customers
and offers high flexibility and very
small batch sizes for large exterior
parts. Over 200 different automotive
colours can be painted in any
one week.
An interesting new development
for the paint plant in 2008 is the
installation and commissioning
of a bioreactor for the control of
solvent emissions. This interesting
technology offers a very low energy
solution for solvent reduction.
The first blow moulded spoilers
were made for Saab in 1993
from a machine installed a year
earlier. A second blow moulding
machine was installed in 2001.
The manufacture of spoilers is an
unusual application for the blow
moulding process and requires a
great deal of expertise, but the
finished product is very attractive
to customers, because of its high
quality, low weight, competitive
piece costs and low entry costs.
POLYTEC HOLDEN is one of the
few suppliers in the world which
specialises in the design and manufacture
of these parts and has
now supplied over 1,500,000 spoilers
to car companies all over the
world. POLYTEC HOLDEN expects
to make in excess of 200,000
spoilers in 2008.
CEO of the POLYTEC GROUP, Mr.
Friedrich Huemer bought the business
in 1997 and at that time, by
turnover, it was the largest single
company in the Group! How times
have change since then!

POLYTEC HOLDEN ist ausschließlich
im Automobilbereich tätig und
ist spezialisiert auf Entwicklung
und Herstellung von lackierten
Exterieurteilen für kleinere und
mittlere Applikationen.
In der Regel gehen über 65 % der
Produktion von POLYTEC HOLDEN
direkt an OEM’s wohingegen 30 %
für den Markt der Original Zubehörteile
bestimmt sind.
66 % der Produktion von POLYTEC
HOLDEN sind für den Export vorgesehen,
wobei Deutschland den
größten Exportmarkt darstellt.
In enger Zusammenarbeit mit
POLYTEC FOHA gehen 13 % der
Produktion von POLYTEC HOLDEN
in die USA.
Je nach tatsächlichem Beschäftigungsgrad
hat das Unternehmen
300 Angestellte.
Das ursprüngliche Unternehmen
wurde 1969 gegründet und war
auf die hydraulische Verarbeitung
von Blechen und Metallrohren
spezialisiert. Streckmetall-Stoßfänger
bildeten damals einen Teil
des Produkt-Portfolios.
Das erste Kunststoffformteil
wurde 1973 hergestellt.
Man entschied sich für die Technologie
PUR R-RIM und Exterieurteile
stellten den Zielmarkt
dar. Um sich der wachsenden
Nachfrage nach PUR R-RIM-
Bauteilen anzupassen, kaufte
POLYTEC HOLDEN neue Maschinen
und Pressen von Krauss Maffei
und rüstete seine Kapazität
und Technologien im Einklang mit
der zunehmenden Kundennachfrage
weiter auf. Die PUR R-RIM-
Technologie bietet eine hohe Qualität
und geringe Einstiegskosten,
die für Wettbewerbsfähigkeit im
kleineren und mittleren Sektor
essentiell sind.
10 Jahre später, 1983 wurde
das erste in Wagenfarbe lackierte
Teil produziert.
Aufgrund der Nachfrage der
ROVER GROUP nahm das Geschäft
mit den Kunststoffteilen
rasch zu und das Metallgeschäft
wurde 1986 abgestoßen.
Ein zweites, weitaus größeres
Werk wurde 1991 in Betrieb
genommen und die ursprünglichen
Hallen zum Lager umfunktioniert.
Das Werk wurde darauf ausgelegt,
die Nachfrage seiner Kunden zu
erfüllen und bietet hohe Flexibilität
sowie sehr kleine Seriengrößen
für große Exterieurteile. Über
200 verschiedene Wagenfarben
können in jeder Woche lackiert
werden.
Eine interessante Neuentwicklung
für das Lackierwerk war 2008 die
Installation und Inbetriebnahme
eines Bioreaktors zur Überwa-
chung der Lösungsmittelemissionen.
Diese interessante Technologie
bietet eine energiesparende
Lösung zur Lösungsmittelreduktion.
Die ersten geblasenen Spoiler
wurden 1993 für SAAB mit einer
im Jahr davor installierten
Maschine hergestellt. 2001
wurde eine zweite Blasanlage
installiert.
Die Herstellung von Spoilern ist
eine eher ungewöhnliche Anwendung
für das Blasformverfahren
und erforderte ein großes Maß an
Sachkenntnis. Das fertige Produkt
ist jedoch aufgrund seiner hohen
Qualität, seines geringen Gewichts,
der wettbewerbsfähigen
Stückkosten und der geringen
Einstiegskosten äußerst attraktiv
für Kunden.
POLYTEC HOLDEN gehört zu den
wenigen Herstellern weltweit, die
auf Entwicklung und Herstellung
dieser Teile spezialisiert ist und
hat schon über 1.500.000 Spoiler
für Fahrzeughersteller auf der
ganzen Welt produziert. Für 2008
geht POLYTEC HOLDEN von der
Herstellung von über 200.000
Spoilern aus.

Interesting New Projects.
LAND ROVER Discovery
body styling kit.
This body styling kit, which was
first shown at the 2007 Frankfurt
Motor Show, consists of assembled
components:
It has a PUR R-RIM front bumper,
fog lamps with chromed bezels
(injection moulded), texture
grained end caps, (also injection
moulded), and a stainless steel
tow eye cover.
This front bumper is currently
available in five body colours with
the centre section painted in a
special ‘Brunel’ matt grey colour.
The rear bumper extension consists
of three PUR R-RIM components:
There are two end caps and a
centre section, all of which are
painted in the matt grey “Brunel”
colour.
The two end caps are fitted with
polished die-cast aluminum exhaust
trims which are fixed to the
mouldings (after painting).
The centre section is removable
for spare wheel access and to allow
for towing activities.
The roof spoiler is manufactured
in blow moulded ABS and then
painted in body colour.
POLYTEC HOLDEN assembles a
CHMSL brake light and a washer
jet nozzle.
This spoiler is also available as a
separate accessory component.
LAND ROVER Freelander 2
body styling kit.
This new body styling kit consists
of a large front skirt (which includes
a removable centre section),
a rear skirt extension part (including
an injection moulded tow
eye cover) and a set of front and
rear door claddings all moulded
in PUR R-RIM and painted in
body colour.
There is front fender cladding
which is injection moulded in ABS
and painted in body colour.
There is also a roof spoiler produced
with blow moulding technology
in ABS which is also painted in
body colour. This spoiler has been
designed with LAND ROVER so
that it can be fitted to the tailgate
without the drilling of holes.
Finally, there is the front grill assembly
which is injection moulded
and painted in a sub gloss
sliver colour.
The body styling kit was originally
planned to be offered only as an
accessory product but it is also
now also available as a “Rapid Fit”
(factory fitted) option.
ASTON MARTIN DBS
sill finisher set.
This sill finisher set is for the
Sports version of the new DB9
model now known as the DBS.
The components are moulded in
PUR R-RIM and supplied in primer
condition to AML who will
top coat the car in any colour the
customer wants.
MITSUBISHI Eclipse MY2009.
An exciting new
body styling kit in conjunction
with POLYTEC FOHA.
The body styling kit consists of a
new front skirt extension part,
new rear skirt extensions (rear
skirt corners) and side sills from
the 2005 version.
Production started in March
2008.

Interessante neue Projekte.
LAND ROVER Discovery
Body Styling Kit.
Dieses Body Styling Kit, das auf
der Frankfurter Messe 2007 vorgestellt
wurde, besteht aus mehreren
montierten Komponenten:
einem PUR R-RIM Stoßfänger
vorne, mit Nebelscheinwerfern
mit verchromten Blenden (im
Spritzgussverfahren hergestellt),
genarbten Endkappen (ebenfalls
spritzgegossen) und einer Abschlepphakenabdeckung
aus Edelstahl.
Dieser Stossfänger ist aktuell in
fünf Wagenfarben erhältlich, wo-
bei der mittlere Bereich im matten
Sondergrau ‘Brunel’ lackiert ist.
Der Heckstoßfängeranbau besteht
aus drei PUR R-RIM Teilen:
Zwei Endkappen und ein Mittelteil,
die im matten Grau „Brunel“
lackiert sind.
Die zwei Endkappen sind mit
Druckguss-Auspuffverlängerungen
ausgerüstet, die nach dem
Lackieren auf die Teile fixiert werden.
Das Mittelteil ist abnehmbar, um
den Zugang zum Reserverad und
zur Abschleppvorrichtung zu ermöglichen.
Der Dachspoiler ist aus ABS, mit
Blasformverfahren hergestellt und
in Wagenfarbe lackiert.
POLYTEC HOLDEN montiert eine
dritte Bremsleuchte und eine
Scheibenwaschdüse.
Dieser Spoiler ist auch als Zubehörkomponente
und als separater
Artikel erhältlich.
LAND ROVER Freelander 2
Body Styling Kit.
Dieses neue Body Styling Kit besteht
aus einer großen Frontschürze
(die einen abnehmbaren
zentralen Teil beinhaltet), einem
Heckschürzenanbauteil (inklusive
einer Spritzguss-Abschlepphakenabdeckung)
und einem Satz
Verkleidungen für die Hinter-
und Vordertüren, alle PUR
R-RIM-geformt und in Wagen-
farbe lackiert.
Es beinhaltet außerdem eine aus
ABS, im Spritzgussverfahren her-
gestellte und in Wagenfarbe
lackierte vordere Kotflügelver-
kleidung.
Weiterhin einen aus ABS, im Blasformverfahren
hergestellten und
in Wagenfarbe lackierten Dachspoiler.
Dieser Spoiler wurde in
Zusammenarbeit mit LAND ROVER
designt, so dass er an der Heckklappe
ohne Bohren von Löchern
befestigt werden kann.
Zuletzt enthält er den Frontgrillsatz,
der im Spritzgussverfahren
hergestellt wird und in Silber mit
geringem Glanzanteil lackiert ist.
Ursprünglich war geplant das
Body Styling Kit als Zubehör-
produkt anzubieten. Mittlerweile
wird es jedoch als „Rapid Fit“-
(fabrikmontierte) Option vertrieben.

Seitenschutzleisten-Set.
Dieses Seitenschutzleisten-Set ist
für die Sportversion des neuen
DB9-Modells bestimmt, jetzt unter
der Bezeichnung DBS bekannt.
Die Komponenten sind PUR
R-RIM-geformt und werden in
grundiertem Zustand an AML geliefert,
wo die Endlackierung in
jeder vom Kunden gewünschten
Farbe erfolgt.

Das Body Styling Kit besteht aus

As part of an initiative by the Automobil-Cluster Oberösterreich,
the POLYTEC GROUP sent out invitations to an event on 17 th April
2008 in the company’s headquarters.
Karl-Heinz Solly, CMO of the
POLYTEC GROUP, presented
over 60 interested visitors
from different industrial divisions
innovations and trends
in the plastic sector, which are
being developed within the
POLYTEC GROUP for the automobile
industry.
A particular highlight of the innovations
mentioned by Karl-Heinz
Solly which is being implemented
in four technical centres of the
POLYTEC GROUP, is POLYFLAX,
an innovative material made of
renewable natural fibres, which
uses the complete plant, including
wood parts but excluding the
roots and blossoms.
Using this innovative material, the
component weight is considerably
reduced and an increased crash
performance is achieved. The CO²
neutrality and recyclability should
also be highlighted as innovative
advantages.
As a result, the material can completely
replace synthetic plastics
and is intended for use within the
POLYTEC GROUP for door panels
(“the green door”), trunk trim covers
and sun roof headliners.
The visitors also showed a lot of
interest in the POLYSWIRL system,
whose function and use was demonstrated
using an animation.
The unique oil separator system,
which is used in Diesel and Otto
engines, offers a high level of oil
separating capacity while simultaneously
reducing the number
of components along with the
advantage of massively reducing
the remaining oil in the exhaust
fumes, thus contributing positively
to the environment.
After the presentation, employees
of POLYTEC FOR led a tour
through the production halls of
the Hörsching site.
From CAD development to tool
production, manufacturing and
PUR part finishing, the visitors
were able to gain an insight
into the wide field of activity of
POLYTEC FOR.
In the headquarters’ show room,
the product range of POLYTEC
GROUP was then explained and
shown in detail with representative
parts.
Im Rahmen einer Initiative des Automobil-Clusters Oberösterreich,
lud die POLYTEC GROUP zu einer Veranstaltung am 17. April
2008 in das Headquarter des Unternehmens ein.
Karl-Heinz Solly, CMO der
POLYTEC GROUP, präsentierte
über 60 interessierten Besuchern
aus verschiedenen Industriebereichen,
Innovationen
und Trends im Kunststoffbereich,
die in der POLYTEC
GROUP für die Automobilindustrie
entwickelt werden.
Als besonderes Highlight der Innovationen,
die in vier Technologiezentren
der POLYTEC GROUP
umgesetzt werden, nannte Karl-
Heinz Solly das POLYFLAX, einen
innovativen Werkstoff aus nachwachsenden
Naturfasern, bei dem
die komplette Pflanze inklusive
Holzanteilen, jedoch ohne Wurzelwerk
und Blüten, genutzt wird.
Durch diesen neuartigen Werkstoff
wird das Bauteilegewicht
deutlich reduziert und eine erhöhte
Crash-Performance erzielt.
Auch die CO² Neutralität und die
Recyclingfähigkeit sind als innovative
Vorteile hervorzuheben.
Das Material kann somit synthetische
Kunststoffe vollständig ersetzen
und soll bei der POLYTEC
GROUP für Türverkleidungen
(„die grüne Tür“), Kofferraumabdeckungen
und Dachhimmel eingesetzt
werden.
Die Besucher zeigten auch reges
Interesse am POLYSWIRL System,
dessen Funktion und Einsatz in
einer Animation dargestellt wurden.
Das neuartige Ölabscheidesystem,
das in Diesel- und Ottomotoren
zum Einsatz kommt, bietet neben
einer hohen Ölabscheideleistung
bei gleichzeitiger Bauteilereduzierung,
vor allem den Vorteil, die
Restölmenge in den Auspuffgasen
massiv zu senken und so einen
positiven Beitrag für die Umwelt
zu leisten.
Im Anschluss an die Präsentation,
führten MitarbeiterInnen der
POLYTEC FOR durch die Produktionshallen
des Standortes Hörsching.
Von der CAD Entwicklung über die
Werkzeugherstellung bis zur Produktion
und Lackierung von PUR
Teilen, konnten die Besucher einen
Eindruck in das breite Tätigkeitsfeld
der POLYTEC FOR gewinnen.
Im Showroom des Headquarters
wurde anschließend die Produktvielfalt
der POLYTEC GROUP mit
repräsentativen Teilen nochmals
anschaulich verdeutlicht.

POLYTEC GROUP has now made
two presentations to the BMW
Group in the Munich Research
and Innovation Centre (FIZ).
On the subject of “Resource
Preservation through Recyclable
and Renewable Raw Materials”,
POLYTEC AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION was one of
eight exhibitors at a workshop
at which there was the opportunity
to exchange ideas and
come up with new projects as
well as take part in numerous,
informative lectures.

BMW X3.
The AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS
DIVISION presented a number of
different products, which are already
in serial production which
were particularly appropriate to
the discussion subject. Among
these, the door panel of the
current BMW 3 series with the
EMPEFLEX (NF/PP) carrier material,
the door panel of the X3 with
the FLEXIFORM (NF/PUR) carrier
material, and other representative
parts, f.e. the AUDI A4 Station
Wagon trunk made of flax/PP.
The Prototyping and Technology
Centre Manager in Geretsried,
Mr. Klaus Philip, also held a
very well-attended lecture about
“Criteria for successful Use of
Natural Fibre Components from
a Supplier’s Point of View”. Apart
from meeting many already existing
contacts in the customers’
development department, it was
also a good opportunity to make
new interfaces.
At an event organised by the
Automobil-Cluster Upper Austria,
the POLYTEC GROUP directly
presented at clients’
location a portfolio of its products
and technologies already
in use within BMW.
A total of 16 Upper-Austrian
companies, all partners in the
Automobil Cluster Upper-Austria,
took the opportunity, during this
in-house exhibition, to present
their processes and innovations
at the FIZ. POLYTEC GROUP was
represented by the AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS, AUTOMOTIVE COMPO-
SITES and CAR STYLING DIVISION
and was therefore able to show
a wide spectrum of its products
and capabilities as a result.
Among the exhibited parts and
developments, there were both
power train parts like engine covers
currently in serial production
together with the door panel for
the BMW X3 of the AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION. The CAR STY-
LING DIVISION presented rear lip
spoilers in three different technologies
as well as illuminated entrance
sills, among other products.
However, as a special highlight,
the ROLLS-ROYCE Phantom
trunk lid produced by POLYTEC
AUTOMOTIVE COMPOSITES DIVI-
SION in SMC technology met extensive
public interest, but also
special interest as well from some
of the engineers of the Bavarian
automobile manufacturer because
they had previously worked on
this project.
In the course of the one-day
event, more than 500 employees
of the BMW Group, including buyers,
developers and logistic specialists,
used the exhibition stands
to find out more about innovative
products. In a pleasant atmosphere
at the POLYTEC stand there
was an active exchange of ideas
and constructive discussions with
interested visitors.
Thanks to the high number of visitors,
it was not only possible to
invest in existing customer relationships
but also to make many
new contacts. This proved once
again just how valuable it is to
show what you can do for customers
directly on-site.
Gleich zweimal präsentierte
sich die POLYTEC GROUP bei
der BMW Group im Münchner
Forschungs- und Innovationszentrum
(FIZ).
Zum Thema „Ressourcenschonung
durch Recyclate und
Nachwachsende Rohstoffe“ war
die POLYTEC AUTOMOTIVE SY-
STEMS DIVISION einer von acht
Ausstellern dieses Workshops,
bei welchem es neben zahlreichen,
informativen Fachvorträgen
auch die Möglichkeit
gab, Ideen auszutauschen und
neue Projekte anzuspechen.
Passend zur Thematik, präsentierte
die AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS
DIVISION diverse, bereits in Serie
laufende Produkte. Darunter die
Türverkleidung der aktuellen BMW
3er Serie mit dem Trägerwerkstoff
EMPEFLEX (NF/PP), die Türverkleidung
des X3 mit dem Trägerwerkstoff
FLEXIFORM (NF/PUR), sowie
andere repräsentative Teile, wie
z.B. der Kofferraum des AUDI A4
Avant aus Flachs-PP.
Der Leiter des Technikums in
Geretsried, Hr. Klaus Philip, hielt
zudem einen sehr gut besuchten
Vortrag über „Kriterien für einen
erfolgreichen Einsatz von
Naturfaser-Bauteilen aus Lieferantensicht“.
Neben vielen bereits
bestehenden Kontakten zu
der Entwicklungsabteilung des
Kunden, konnten auch hier neue
Schnittstellen aufgebaut werden.

Anlässlich einer vom Automobil-Cluster
Oberösterreich organisierten
Veranstaltung, präsentierte
die POLYTEC GROUP,
ebenfalls direkt vor Ort beim
Kunden BMW, einen Querschnitt
der Produkte und der
eingesetzten Technologien.
Insgesamt nutzten 16 oberösterreichische
Unternehmen, allesamt
Partner im Automobil-Cluster
Oberösterreich, die Gelegenheit,
im Zuge dieser Hausmesse ihre
Verfahren und Innovationen im
FIZ vorzustellen. Die POLYTEC
GROUP selbst war mit den Divisionen
AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS,
AUTOMOTIVE COMPOSITES und
CAR STYLING vertreten und konnte
dadurch ein breites Spektrum
ihrer Produkte und Kompetenzen
abdecken.
Unter den ausgestellten Teilen
bzw. Entwicklungen befanden sich
sowohl Powertrainteile wie aktuell
in Serie laufende Motorabdeckungen
und die Türverkleidung
für den BMW X3 der AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION. Die CAR
STYLING DIVISION präsentierte
unter anderem lackierte Heck-
spoiler in drei unterschiedlichen
Technologien sowie eine beleuchtete
Einstiegsleiste.

assembly, welding.
Motorabdeckung (Schallabsorptionshaube);
Spritzgießen, Lackieren, Tampon-

Als besonderes Highlight jedoch,
rief die in der AUTOMOTIVE
COMPOSITES DIVISION im SMC-
Verfahren gefertigte Heckklappe
des ROLLS-ROYCE Phantom reges
Publikumsinteresse hervor. Nicht
zuletzt deshalb, da einige Techniker
des bayerischen Automobilherstellers
in diesem Ausstellungsobjekt
„ihr Projekt“ wieder
erkannten.
Im Laufe der eintägigen Veranstaltung
informierten sich an den
Messeständen mehr als 500 Mitarbeiter
der BMW Group, darunter
Einkäufer, Entwickler oder Logistiker
über innovative Produkte. In
angenehmer Atmosphäre kam es
dabei am Stand der POLYTEC zu
regem Gedankenaustausch und
konstruktiven Gesprächen mit interessierten
Besuchern.
Dank der hohen Besucherzahl war
es nicht nur möglich, bestehende
Kundenbeziehungen zu intensivieren,
sondern auch neue Kontakte
zu knüpfen. Somit konnte
einmal mehr bestätigt werden, wie
wertvoll es ist, direkt vor Ort beim
Kunden zu zeigen was man kann.

POLYTEC INTERIOR - Geretsried
The POLYTEC plant in Geretsried, about 30 km south of Munich,
employs about 300 highly qualified personnel on its 56.300 m²
of premises. It is also the registered office of POLYTEC HOLDING
Deutschland GmbH. Next to the production line of POLYTEC
INTERIOR, the enterprise’s core competencies – research & development,
product engineering, sales, quality management as
well as the human resources and accounting departments of the
entire German AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS DIVISION – are located.

The site in Geretsried has been
connected with the company’s
history for a long time.
The EMPE works, where windows
and doors for the rebuilding of
Greater Munich were manufactured,
were founded by Ernst Pelz
in 1947.
As early as 1953, the company
started supplying the automotive
industry, initially with warped real
wood parts for the BMW V8 and
other wood products.
After a short-term takeover by the
US automobile supplier Findlay Industries,
which lasted from 1997
to 2003, the plant in Geretsried
became a part of POLYTEC GROUP
in 2004.
The production in Geretsried is
based on raw parts, to which different
technologies on upper materials
such as textiles and foils,
but also different leather variants
are applied. The individual components
are subsequently assembled
according to the complexity
of the units.
The plant in Geretsried currently
is specialist for the following core
competencies:
- Pressing
(e.g. natural fibre mats)
- Laminating
- Foaming (PUR foam)
- Leather processing
- Assembly
It is an important fact that in
the Geretsried plant, unlike in
other sectors of POLYTEC GROUP,
the manufacture of all parts is
based on natural fibre and not on
synthetic material.
The “green” door, which is made
from the new natural fibre
composite POLYFLAX, was
presented by POLYTEC INTERIOR
at last year‘s IAA as a pioneer
in this sector.
The door panels for the BMW 3
series and for the X3 are based
on natural fibre composites, too.

Der Standort Geretsried kann
bereits auf eine langjährige Firmengeschichte
zurück blicken.
Ernst Pelz gründete 1947 die
EMPE-Werke, die für den Wiederaufbau
im Großraum München
Fenster und Türen herstellten.
Bereits im Jahre 1953 wurde,
zunächst mit verformten Edelholzteilen
für den BMW V8 und
anderen Holzprodukten, die Automobilindustrie
beliefert.
Nach einer kurzzeitigen Übernahme
durch den US-amerikanischen
Automobilzulieferer Findlay Industries
von 1997-2003 gehört
das Geretsrieder Werk nun seit
2004 der POLYTEC GROUP an.
Ausgangsbasis für die in Geretsried
gefertigten Produkte sind
Rohteile, auf die mit unterschiedlichen
Technologien Obermaterialien
wie Stoffe oder Folien, aber
auch exklusive Ledervarianten,
aufgebracht werden. Je nach
Komplexität der Bauteile erfolgt
anschließend die Montage der
Einzelkomponenten.
Derzeit steht das Werk Geretsried
für folgende Kernkompetenzen:
- Pressen
(z.B. Naturfasermatten)
- Kaschieren
- Schäumen (PUR-Schaum)
- Lederverarbeitung
- Montage
Hervorzuheben ist auch, dass die
Fertigung aller Teile im Werk Geretsried
auf Naturfaserbasis und
nicht, wie in anderen Bereichen
der POLYTEC GROUP, auf Kunststoff
basiert.
Als Pionier auf diesem Gebiet
konnte von der POLYTEC INTERIOR
letztes Jahr auf der IAA in Frankfurt
die „grüne“ Tür aus dem neuen
Naturfaserverbundwerkstoff
POLYFLAX präsentiert werden.
Auch die Türverkleidungen
für den 3er BMW sowie
den X3 basieren auf
Naturfaser-Werkstoffen.

Der POLYTEC Standort Geretsried - ca. 30 km südlich von München

It is not for the geographical
proximity alone that BMW and
AUDI are the major customers
of the POLYTEC Geretsried. Due
to the common aim of delivering
state-of-the-art products,
a range of new procedures and
processes were developed and
implemented in serial production.

Currently, for instance, the Geretsried
plant is manufacturing
the complete trunk compartment
for the AUDI A4 Avant. It includes
all single components like lateral
panels, snap-on cover, filler
pieces, front load floor, back reversible
trunk floor. Particularly,
it is the newly designed reversible
trunk load floor (a detailed report
will be included in the next issue
of POLYTEC WORLD) that has met
with a highly positive acclaim
from both customers and ultimate
consumers.
Regular training and further education
schemes for the employees
in Geretsried continuously
increase the power of innovation
and will guarantee that the high
standard of processes, quality
and know how is maintained in
the future. In an unprecedented
re-education project, for instance,
unskilled employees were trained
to become qualified “machine and
plant operators”.
The esteem as a competent and
reliable partner, which POLYTEC
has won from its own personnel
and, in particular, from its customers,
is also evidenced by the Logistics
Prize that was awarded to
the plant in Geretsried by the VW
Group in 2005.
BMW und AUDI haben sich
nicht nur durch die räumliche
Anbindung zu Hauptkunden für
POLYTEC Geretsried entwickelt.
Durch das gemeinsame Bestreben,
immer das innovativste
Produkt zu liefern, wurden im
Laufe der Zeit viele neue Verfahren
und Prozesse entwickelt
und in der Serienfertigung angewendet.
Aktuell wird in Geretsried z.B. der
Kofferraumumfang für den AUDI
A4 Avant gefertigt. Darin enthalten
sind die Einzelkomponenten:
Seitenverkleidungen, Steckdeckel,
Füllstücke, Ladeboden vorne,
Wendeladeboden hinten. Speziell
der hierfür neu entwickelte Wendeladeboden
(detaillierter Bericht
in der nächsten Ausgabe der
POLYTEC WORLD) wird sowohl
vom Kunden als auch vom Endverbraucher
äußerst positiv aufgenommen.

Laufende Schulungs- und Weiterbildungspläne
für die Geretsrieder
MitarbeiterInnen heben die Innovationskraft
kontinuierlich an und
sollen so auch künftig einen hohen
Standard bei Prozessen, Qualität
und Know-How garantieren.
So wurden z.B. in einem bisher
einmaligen Umschulungsprojekt
ungelernte MitarbeiterInnen zu
qualifizierten „Maschinen- und
Anlagenführern“ ausgebildet.
Dass POLYTEC nicht nur bei den
eigenen MitarbeiterInnen, sondern
auch besonders beim Kunden, als
kompetenter und zuverlässiger
Partner geschätzt ist, zeigt auch
der Logistik-Preis, den der Standort
Geretsried 2005 von der VW
Group verliehen bekommen hat.

POLYTEC PLASTIK Turkey, Aksaray

The plant in Aksaray is situated
in the region of Central Anatolia
in Turkey.
The company was founded as a
public limited company on 12 th
December 1990 with the name
Menzolit A.S. and was located
in the city of Istanbul at that
time.
In the first years, the tools brought
in from Germany were primarily
used for production purposes as
an extended workbench.
What is now known as POLYTEC
PLASTIK received its first local
assignment in 1992 from the
Turkish HGV manufacturer BMC.
In 1994, the plant received the
assignment to manufacture
luggage doors and wheelhouse
tool storage doors for the bus
series 0350 Tourismo from
MERCEDES BENZ Türk A.S.
Two 800 tonne presses were
brought from Germany to Turkey
to handle this project.

Since 1999, as part of a largescale
assignment from DAIMLER
AG and MERCEDES-BENZ Türk
A.S., numerous SMC parts have
been produced for the Axor and
Atego HGV series. This purchase
order contract was the most important
milestone in the history of
the company.
As the area existing in Istanbul
was not sufficient for this
production, the decision was
made to relocate the site to
Aksaray, where the HGV plant
of MERCEDES-BENZ Türk is also
based.

The production hall and mana-
gement building were completed
in seven months. Since August
2000, the plant has been producing
products at the new site in
Aksaray.
The total surface area is 41,000
m². Of which 7,150 m² was developed
as production facilities and
1,200 m² was developed over two
storeys as a social and administration
building.
The plant is certified in accordance
with TS 16949 and
ISO 14001.
There are eight presses including
a 2,000 tonne and a 1,800 tonne
press.
In the 1,500 m² PLC-controlled
conveyor belt paint shop, POLYTEC
PLASTIK is in the position to paint
the parts with textured paint and
primer coating.
In addition, the company has a
5-axle CNC milling machine and a
3-D measuring device.
With 175 employees, the plant in
Aksaray generates an annual turnover
of approx. EUR 11 million
and has a 40 % market share on
the Turkish SMC market.
The main clients are DAIMLER AG,
MERCEDES-BENZ Türk A.S., FORD
Otosan (Turkey) and SIEMENS
(Turkey). 99 % of the turnover is
generated in the automotive sector.

Die Firma wurde am 12. Dezember
1990 mit dem Namen Menzolit

der Stadt Istanbul ansässig.
In den ersten Jahren wurden
hauptsächlich mit den aus
Deutschland verlagerten Werkzeugen
als verlängerte Werkbank
produziert.
Den ersten lokalen Auftrag hat
die jetztige POLYTEC PLASTIK im
Jahr 1992 von dem türkischen
LKW Hersteller BMC erhalten.
Im Jahr 1994 hat das Werk von
MERCEDES-BENZ Türk A.S. den
Auftrag für die Herstellung der
Kofferraumklappen und Radlaufklappen
für die Busmodellreihe
0350 Tourismo erhalten.
Für die Abwicklung dieses Auftrages
wurden zwei 800-Tonnen
Pressen aus Deutschland in die
Türkei verlagert.

Seit 1999 werden im Rahmen
eines Großauftrages von
DAIMLER AG und MERCEDES-
BENZ Türk A.S. zahlreiche SMC
Teile für die LKW Baureihen Axor
und Atego produziert. Dieser
Auftrag war der wichtigste Meilenstein
in der Historie der Gesellschaft.
Da die räumlichen Möglichkeiten
in Istanbul für diese Produktion
nicht geeignet waren, wurde entschieden
den Standort nach Aksaray
zu verlagern, wo sich auch das
LKW Werk von MERCEDES-BENZ
Türk befindet.
Die Produktionshalle und das Verwaltungsgebäude
wurden in sieben
Monaten fertig gestellt. Seit
August 2000 produziert das Werk
am neuen Standort in Aksaray.
Die gesamte Fläche beträgt 41.000
m². Davon sind 7.150 m² als Produktionshalle
und 1.200 m² auf
zwei Etagen als Sozial- und Verwaltungsgebäude
bebaut worden.
Das Werk ist nach TS 16949 und
ISO 14001 zertifiziert.
Es befinden sich an diesem
Standort acht Pressen inklusive
einer 2.000 Tonnen und einer
1.800 Tonnen-Presse.
In der 1.500 m² PLC-gesteu-
erten Förderbandlackieranlage ist
POLYTEC PLASTIK in der Lage die
Teile mit Strukturlack und Grundierung
zu beschichten.
Des Weiteren verfügt der Betrieb
über eine 5 - Achsen CNC-Fräsanlage
und eine 3-D Messmaschine.
Das Werk in Aksaray erwirtschaftet
mit 175 Mitarbeiter einen Jahresumsatz
von ca. EUR 11 Mio.
und hat einen 40 %-igen Marktanteil
am türkischen SMC Markt.
Die Hauptkunden sind DAIMLER
AG, MERCEDES-BENZ Türk A.S.,

Upper Austria‘s
Governor Dr. Pühringer
was on a visit at the voerde site
On 11th June 2008, Governor of Upper Austria, Dr. Pühringer,
visited the Voerde site of POLYTEC COMPOSITES GERMANY as
part of his scheduled visit to Germany. He was accompanied by a
delegation consisting of 21 representatives of the press, radio and
television, the Chamber of Commerce of Upper Austria, a technology
and marketing company and the Austrian trade delegation/
centre for foreign trade Frankfurt.
Also invited was the Mayor of
Voerde, Mr. Leo Spitzer, as well as
the local press.
The aim of this visit was to look at
the production procedures carried
out at the Voerde site.
After a round of introductions
there was a presentation about
the POLYTEC GROUP, held by Mr.
Manuel Taverne, Head of Investor
Relations of POLYTEC HOLDING
AG, followed by details about
the plant of Voerde, reported by
Mr. Oliver Förster, Plant Manager,
and finally a brief portrayal of
the region of Upper Austria presented
by Governor Dr. Pühringer.
Afterwards a tour of the plant had
been organised.
The site at Voerde covers approx.
113,000 m². There is the producion
of LFT and SMC parts such as
frontend mounting structures, un-
derfloor panels and spare wheel
covers for passenger cars and
battery trays, air deflectors, oil
pans, entrance sills, external covers,
and bumpers for the truck
industry. Main customers are
VW, DAIMLER, MAN and VOLVO
Trucks.
During the round tour of the plant,
Mr. Oliver Förster explained the
normal production processes at
the site, the function of the machines
and equipment as well as
the technologies applied such as
pressing, punching, preparations
for painting, priming, structural
painting, gluing, assembly, water
jet cutting, riveting (automatic),
drilling and milling. The products
and their range of applications
were also explained.
After a positive feedback session,
the visitors set off for Düsseldorf
for an appointment with the Prime
Minster of North Rhine Westphalia,
Dr. Rüttgers.

Landeshauptmann Dr. Pühringer
auf Besuch im Werk Voerde
Am 11. Juni 2008 stattete Oberösterreichs Landeshauptmann,
Herr Dr. Pühringer, mit seiner begleitenden Delegation, bestehend

und der österreichischen Handelsdelegation/Aussenhandelsstelle
Frankfurt, dem Standort Voerde der POLYTEC
COMPOSITES GERMANY im Rahmen seiner Deutschlandvisite
einen Besuch ab.
Diesen Besuch nahm das Werk
Voerde zum Anlass, auch den
Bürgermeister der Stadt Voerde,
Herrn Leo Spitzer, sowie die heimische
Presse einzuladen.
Ziel dieses Besuches war es,
sich in einem Werk der POLYTEC
GROUP einen Eindruck über die
dort durchgeführten Produktionsabläufe
zu verschaffen.
Nach der Vorstellungsrunde folg-
ten Präsentationen zur POLYTEC
GROUP durch Herrn Manuel
Taverne, Head of Investor Relations
der POLYTEC HOLDING AG,
weiters über den Standort Voerde,
erläutert durch Herrn Oliver Förster,
Werkleiter, sowie eine kurze
Darstellung des Landes Ober-
österreich, präsentiert durch
den Landeshauptmann, Herrn Dr.
Pühringer. Im Anschluss wurde
ein Werksrundgang durchgeführt.
Der Standort Voerde hat eine Gesamtfläche
von ca. 113.000 m².
Hier werden LFT- und SMC-Teile
wie z.B. Montageträger, Unterbo-
denverkleidungen und Reserve-
radabdeckungen für PKW‘s und
Batteriekastendeckel, Windabwei-
ser, Ölwannen, Einstiegsleisten,
Außenblenden, Stoßfänger für die
Nutzfahrzeugindustrie produziert.
Hauptkunden sind z.B. VW,
DAIMLER, MAN und VOLVO.
Während des Werksrundganges
erklärte Herr Oliver Förster den
Besuchern die gängigen Produktionsabläufe,
die Maschinen
und Anlagenfunktionen,
sowie die angewandten Technologien
wie z.B. Pressen, Stanzen,
Lackiervorbereiten, Grun-
dieren, Strukturlackieren, Kleben,
Montieren, Wasserstrahlschneiden,
Nieten (automatisch), Bohren
und Fräsen. Auch die Produkte
und deren Anwendungsbereiche
wurden erläutert.
Nach einem abschließenden positiven
“FEEDBACK“ verabschiedete
sich die Delegation und setzte
ihren Weg nach Düsseldorf zu
einem Termin beim Nordrhein-
Westfalens, Ministerpräsidenten
Herrn Dr. Rüttgers fort.

Review
This year, the Engine Expo took place at the new exhibition
centre in Stuttgart right next to the airport for the first time.
Between 06/05/2008 and 08/05/2008, visitors were able to get
an insight into the latest technical developments in the field of
engine compartment.
The POLYTEC GROUP presented
products from the engine sector
of the AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS DI-
VISION and the POLYTEC COMPO-
SITES DIVISION to the public.
The focus of the exhibited parts
this year was on the subject of “oil
pans”.
An oil pan produced for VOLVO
Powertrain of SMC Vinylester as
well as an injection moulded oil
pan made of plastic, which is manufactured
for BMW, were presented
and encountered a great
deal of interest among the trade
visitors.
Other items from the engine
compartment on exhibition were,
for example, the new 2.0 l CR
cylinder head covers for VW for
a lengthwise and cross version
as well as the sound absorption
hood of the BMW-N63 engine,
which went into serial production
in March. This product range was
completed by toothed belt protections,
fuel distributor rails, cylinder
head covers and the engine
covers of various OEMs.
Looking back, it can be said that
the exhibited parts certainly raised
significant interest amongst
the visitors leading to many interesting
conversations.
Engine Expo 2008 Rückblick
SNAP SHOTS
In diesem Jahr fand die Engine Expo erstmals auf dem neuen
Messegelände in Stuttgart, gleich neben dem Flughafen, statt.
Hier konnten sich die Besucher vom 06.05.2008 bis 08.05.2008
ein Bild über die neuesten technischen Entwicklungen im
Bereich Motorraum machen.
Die POLYTEC GROUP präsentierte
dem Publikum Produkte aus dem
Motorbereich der AUTOMOTIVE
SYSTEMS DIVISION, als auch der
POLYTEC COMPOSITES DIVISION.
Die Fokussierung der ausgestellten
Teile lag in diesem Jahr auf
dem Thema „Ölwannen“.
So wurden jeweils eine Ölwanne
von VOLVO Powertrain aus SMC
Vinylester als auch eine spritzgegossene
Ölwanne aus Kunststoff,
die für die Firma BMW hergestellt
wird, präsentiert. Diese stießen
beim Fachpublikum auf sehr
großes Interesse.
Weitere Ausstellungsstücke aus
dem Motorraum waren z.B. die
neuen 2,0 l CR Zylinderkopfhauben
für VW in der Längs- als auch
in der Querversion sowie die im
März in Serie gegangene Schallabsorptionshaube
des BMW-N63
Motors. Komplettiert wurde diese
Produktreihe durch Zahnriemenschutze,
Kraftstoffverteilerleisten,
Zylinderkopfhauben und Motorab-
deckungen verschiedener OEM’s.
Rückblickend kann gesagt werden,
dass die präsentierten Teile beim
Fachpublikum entsprechendes In-
teresse hervorriefen und daher
auch den Anlass für viele interessante
Gespräche gaben.

of POLYTEC Holding AG
On 21 st May 2008, the 8 th annual
general meeting of POLYTEC
HOLDING AG took place for the
first time at the company headquarters
in Hörsching near Linz.
In total, 109 shareholders accepted
the invitation to the general meeting
and about 20 shareholders
took the opportunity to go on a
plant tour of POLYTEC FOR.

As part of the agenda, all members
of the management board
and the supervisory board were
unanimously granted discharge.
The proposed dividend of EUR
0.30 per beneficial share was also
unanimously accepted. Based on
the year-end exchange rate 2007
of 8.90 Euro, this is equivalent to
a dividend yield of 3.5 %. As a result,
the stock is once again to be
found at the top-end of Austrian
dividend securities. The resolution
to implement an approved capital
increase as well as change the
statutes in Point 4.4 with regards
to the basic capital (exclusion of
rights issue) was decided with the
necessary majority.

der POLYTEC Holding AG
Am 21. Mai 2008 fand die 8. ordentliche
Hauptversammlung der
POLYTEC HOLDING AG erstmals
am Sitz der Gesellschaft in Hörsching
bei Linz statt.
Insgesamt folgten 109 Aktionäre
der Einladung zur Hauptversammlung.
Rund 20 Aktionäre nutzten
die Gelegenheit einer Werksführung
bei POLYTEC FOR, welche im
Vorfeld angeboten wurde.
Im Rahmen der Hauptversammlung
wurde allen Mitgliedern des
Vorstandes und auch des Aufsichtrates
einstimmig die Entlastung
erteilt. Auch die vorgeschlagenen
Dividende von EUR 0,30 je
bezugsberechtigter Aktie wurde
einstimmig angenommen.
Basierend auf den Jahresschlusskurs
2007 von 8,90 Euro
entspricht dies einer Dividendenrendite
von 3,5 %. Somit ist
die Aktie erneut im Spitzenfeld
österreichischer Dividenentitel zu
finden. Die Beschlussfassung zur
Durchführung einer genehmigten
Kapitalerhöhung sowie die Änderung
der Satzung in Pkt 4.4 betreffend
Grundkapital (Ausschluss
des Bezugsrechtes) wurde mit der
erforderlichen Mehrheit beschlossen.
