supported by high import duties. Many Indian spinning mills would
like a second viscose fiber company to produce locally.
Lenzing will build and operate the new plant in close cooperation with
the Modi Group. Lenzing’s partner is one of India’s most successful
conglomerates, with an annual turnover of about 1.2 billion US dollars.
Satish K. Modi, chairman and president of Modi Group, specially
traveled to Vienna together with Thomas Fahnemann, chairman of
Lenzing’s management board, in order to sign the agreement, which
underlines the significance of the project for India’s textile industry.

errichten und betreiben. Die Modi­Gruppe ist einer der erfolgreichsten indischen
Mischkonzerne mit einem Jahresumsatz von umgerechnet rund
1,2 Mrd. US­Dollar. Satish K. Modi, Vorstandsvorsitzender und Präsident
der Gruppe, kam zur Vertragsunterzeichnung mit Lenzing Vorstandsvorsitzendem
Thomas Fahnemann extra nach Wien, was die Bedeutung
dieses Projektes für die indische Textilwirtschaft unterstreicht.
