Kate Minns... is an architect, a
creative thinker, a classy lady.
What's important to you? Encouraging
generosity in all senses, and Thom, my little
nipper, he is the king.
What do you love about the East End?
I like that it remains independent and hasn't
yet been swallowed up by big commercial
companies. I enjoy the local independent
shops, its art spaces and the area's rich
cultural diversity. I love that the East End
encourages free thinkers.
Louis Wigston... is co-owner of the
charming bike shop PARADISE CYCLES. He is
a cyclist and a proud but modest Geordie.
Louis is well known by the locals who pop
in for a free tyre-pump, a chat, or a full bike
restoration.
What's important to you? Honesty,
accountability, transparency. Believing in
what you do. That's why I opened this shop;
I believe in what I do.
What do you love about the East End?
I enjoy having the opportunity to apply my
trade here in East London. This may not
have been possible back home. Being in
contact with the area's diverse range of
ethnicities, classes and cultures. Also, the
close proximity of old local establishments
and new creative spaces.
