installation a simple process
Granite and Marble Depot
is one of Chicagoland’s
premier granite shops.
It utilizes the highestquality
material and the
latest fabrication and installation
techniques. Not
all granite fabricators are
the same. Fabrication and
installation are greatly affected
by the technology
and techniques utilized by
the individual fabricator.
The Granite and Marble
Depot can provide customers
with a pamphlet
that will inform them on
why they should select the
Granite and Marble Depot
for their natural stone
countertops and tile needs.
When granite is delivered
into Granite and
Marble Depot’s facility,
it is quality inspected by
Granite and Marble Depot
technicians. Once the slabs
arrive and pass the company’s
rigorous inspection,
its professional designers
contact customers regarding
viewing their slabs and
going over the cuts, seam
location and final verification
of design selections.
Customers are invited to
participate in the process
every step of the way to
ensure satisfaction with
the final product.
Final milling, shaping
and all sink cutouts are
completed using Granite
and Marble Depot’s Breton
CNC. Breton is one
of the leading and largest
manufacturers of stone
machinery in the world,
and they set the standard
for the stone fabrication
industry. Sink templates
are downloaded from the
manufacturer’s website,
and cutouts are made in
strict accordance with the
sink supplier’s guideline.
Granite countertops
are installed by one of the
store’s professional installation
crews. All installers
are employed by GMD, and
it does not contract out any
of its work. All installations
are preformed according to
the highest standards and as
recommended by the Marble
Institute of America.
The Granite and Marble
Depot’s showroom in Mokena
displays more than
200 natural stone colors,
engineered stone colors,
fireplaces, sinks, faucets,
tile and more. Its professional
staff includes architects
and designers
committed to helping customers
get the desired look
for their home.
Easy and quick, GMD
makes it an easy, threestep
process.
Step 1 involves choosing
the perfect stone design.
The Granite and
Marble Depot offers a
free consultation at a customer’s
home, office or
its showroom to discuss
needs and suggest ideas.
GMD highly recommends
that customers bring a
sketch of the project to
its showroom. It is a good
idea to bring a cabinet
sample and paint color, as
well. A GMD consultant
can help customers choose
the right stone, as there are
hundreds of colors from
which to choose.
Step 2 is placing the order.
To place an order with
GMD, it requires customers
to have the following
steps complete in their
home. Cabinets need to be
installed. All of the appliances
in the kitchen need
to be on location. The sink
needs to be on location
so that GMD may take it
as a template for the sink
cutout. Once the above
requirements are satisfied,
GMD can come out
to measure/template the
kitchen. The installers will
work with customers to
make sure all the specifications
and technical details
are provided.
The last and final piece
of the puzzle, Step 3, is
the installation. The homeowner
must be present for
installation. GMD will
install the countertop and
backsplash.
Lastly, it will drill the
faucet holes, attach the sink
and mount the dishwasher.
