Duet couple Phil &
Amy celebrate 25 years
Recording artists Phil & Amy are to be
featured entertainers at Christmas dine
and matinee performances scheduled for
Tuesday, Nov. 28, at White Fence Farm
and Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Starved Rock
Lodge.
Starved Rock Lodge also is to feature
its “Strolling Down Broadway” show
Aug. 6, 7 and 8, for those who were not
able to get reservations for their November
and December shows.
The popular husband-and-wife duo
have appeared throughout the Chicago
area over the years, and recently rereleased
their 25th anniversary edition
“Opening Night” Andrew Lloyd Webber
selection album via CDs, downloads and
streams. Looking back, the album’s success
was enhanced thanks to many appearances
with the Franz Benteler Royal
Strings Orchestra.
It is almost hard to believe Phil & Amy
just celebrated 25 years of marriage,
capped by an unexpected surprise party
feast at Drury Lane-Oakbrook, concocted
by their three children, family and friends.
This couple has been hosting travel
tours for almost 25 years as well — motorcoach
travel trips to destinations near
and far. With each trip, the “family” of
followers continues to grow.
Phil & Amy adopted the name of St.
Christopher Tours, invoking the blessing
of the patron saint of travelers.
Their motto is, “Like family, we visit
authentic America.” Instead of piling into
a family vehicle, customers board a deluxe
motorcoach for a one- or multi-day
excursion to a fabulous destination.
Phil & Amy trips are so well-planned
for comfort and enjoyment that it is like
being a child again, when mom and dad
took care of all the details carefree — just
went along for the fun.
Interesting parties can call now to inquire
about trips to Yellowstone in June
2018; Mackinac Island in June 2018;
Frankenmuth, Michigan, in Oct. 2018; or
Cape Cod in June 2019; to name a few.
People also can get a more detailed
view of upcoming performances and
shows, theatre (“Hamilton” has been one
of their motorcoach group’s hottest tickets)
and single-/multi-day tours.

“We have some regulars
that come here so often,
as soon as they walk in
the door I’m already calling
their order out to the
kitchen before the customer
even makes it up to the
counter.”
And it’s not just the customers
that are loyal.
“Most of our employees
have been here a long
time, so we can really
keep up the consistency,”
Matyas said. “I have one
employee that’s been with
the Pop’s franchise for 20
years, and another one
that’s been with me since
Day 1 in Tinley Park.”
