Magic
From Page 6
materials that beckon
and provoke thought.
Children are invited to
touch, build, take apart,
put together, taste, listen,
invent, collaborate,
and problem solve...
and most importantly
to reveal themselves
to each other and their
teachers. We want to
know our children, not
change them. We have
the honor of serving
as guides through their
explorations of the
world around them and
friendships they create.
Experience is the central
practice in a progressive
education and
play/simulation is the
language of childhood.
Baker magic does
happen. It happens
during these foundational
years in a way
that fosters each child’s
learning dispositions
and unique qualities
while building a strong
foundation for future
growth. The experience
can feel seamless
and belie the thought,
knowledge, and execution
of a progressive
practice that “trickles
up” all the way to eighth
grade graduation.
We invite you to visit
our school for a tour or
to meet our teachers and
experience the magic
in our classrooms first
hand. We look forward
to joining you and your
child on their wonderful
journey to adulthood.
Regina Dominican shows young women
their enormous potential in various ways
Regina Dominican is the all-girls,
Catholic college preparatory high
school that inspires young women to
lead and serve. It focuses on helping
girls excel by fostering academic excellence,
creating an inclusive, friendly
environment, and challenging each
student to develop leadership for life.
In addition to a college preparatory
education, it prepares our students for
their future careers, relationships, and
life.
If you want your daughter to reach
her full potential, Regina Dominican
is the school for you and your family.
Regina Dominican’s all-girls environment
will give your daughter the confidence
to push herself. The faculty and
staff will challenge your daughter to
excel, teach her to be a confident leader
in her community and inspire her to
live up to her full potential.
Regina Dominican is the school
where your daughter can learn that
there is enormous potential and power
in being a girl, and nothing can stand
in her way.
In most recent news, 19 percent of
the members of the class of 2018 were
named Illinois State Scholars. This
honor is awarded to only the top 10
percent of students in the state. 100
percent of Regina Dominican graduates
attend colleges and universities.
91 percent of the class of 2017 was accepted
to their first choice school.
Regina Dominican has been providing
young women with an unparalleled
college preparatory education
for nearly 60 years. The school tailors
a students’ schedule based on her
strengths in order to challenge her.
With a 15:1 student to faculty ratio,
students receive individualized attention
and instruction from elite faculty,
of which 84 percent hold advanced
degrees.
Outside the classroom, students can
pick from one of the 12 varsity sports
Regina Dominican offers. 72 percent
of students participate in at least one
sport. The fine arts department has extensive
extracurricular and curriculum
opportunities in visual art, music, theater
and dance. The school also offers
40 different clubs and many service
opportunities.
