Youth Groups<br />

Are you getting used to the cold yet, <strong>Temple</strong><br />

<strong>Emanuel</strong>? Let us bring in the New Year with an<br />

event highly appropriate <strong>for</strong> the weather. On<br />

<strong>Jan</strong>uary 6 TEFTY is going ice skating! Time is to<br />

be announced, but we hope to see everyone there!<br />

Did you miss our TNP’s? Get ready <strong>for</strong> a brand<br />

new program on <strong>Jan</strong>uary 15 <strong>for</strong> this one is going<br />

to be exciting and will be a great way to get<br />

introduced to our awesome youth group. Junior<br />

TEFTY members from grades six to eight are<br />

invited to the Junior Youth Kallah. This event is<br />

structured similarly to a NFTY event. It will have<br />

services, programs, and song sessions. This is a<br />

chance <strong>for</strong> our younger youth groupers to meet<br />

and interact with other kids from all over<br />

southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The fee<br />

<strong>Emanuel</strong>’s Up & Comers<br />

Group is proud to present a<br />

unique family experience on<br />

Saturday, February 9, <strong>for</strong><br />

couples of all ages (with or<br />

without children). The<br />

evening will begin with a Pot Luck Dinner <strong>for</strong> the<br />

whole family in the Social Hall of <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Emanuel</strong> at<br />

6 pm. <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Emanuel</strong> will supply the chicken, and<br />

attendees will supply the sides. If your last name<br />

begins with: A – I, please bring salads; J - R, please<br />

bring side dishes; S – Z, please bring desserts.<br />

From 7 pm – 8:30 pm, the adults will stay in the Social<br />

Hall <strong>for</strong> a presentation by certified sex therapist,<br />

speaker and critically acclaimed author Dr. Stephen<br />

Betchen on “improving sexual health and intimacy<br />

within a relationship”. A Clinical Assistant Professor<br />

is $165 that pays <strong>for</strong> transportation to Camp<br />

Harlem (a bus will leave from Adath <strong>Emanuel</strong>),<br />

sleep accommodations and five meals. For more<br />

is kicking off on the right foot and we can’t wait to<br />

spend <strong>2013</strong> with the TEFTY youth group.<br />

contributor to such popular national <strong>pub</strong>lications as<br />

Ladies’ Home Journal, Men’s Health, and Family<br />

Circle, Dr. Betchen will share insights from his book<br />

“Magnetic Partners” and from more than 25 years of<br />

experience as a licensed marriage therapist who has<br />

helped couples of all ages reach new levels of<br />

happiness in the bedroom and other areas.<br />

While parents are enjoying the presentation,<br />

babysitting will be provided by TEFTY babysitters <strong>for</strong><br />

a nominal fee - $7 <strong>for</strong> the first child and $5 <strong>for</strong> each<br />

additional child. The fees will<br />

be used to fund scholarships <strong>for</strong><br />

TEFTY students.<br />
