The Firefighters and Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood would like to express our deepest sympathies to the
families and friends of Deputy District Chief Ken Rea and Fire Fighter Ray Walter. Our thoughts and prayers are also
with the North Perth Fire Service, staff, Council and the residence of North Perth. This unfortunate event definitely hits
home and we wish you strength and perseverance in this time of sorrow. Our thoughts are not only with you today, but
will be with you for the days ahead…..
If even once a firefighter does not come home from a call, that is one time too many. No words can take away the pain
of loss, but know that there are many people out there who appreciate the job firefighters do every day. It is my hope
that no one ever takes a firefighter for granted. My thoughts are with the families (immediate and extended fire
families) of D.C. Ken Rea and FF Ray Walter.
Deepest condolences to the families, work colleagues friends and community members on this tragic loss. Too often we
take these brave people for granted. They run in to danger when others race away from danger. They are the thin line
between chaos and order in our society. All are heroes. May their memories be kept in perpituity. From all of Alberta
Oilsands Pioneers (Retirees) Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Calgary. God bless all of you.
