DESCRIPTION General Future Pipe Industries’ Fiberstrong TM Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) pipe and joints are a corrosion resistant <strong>com</strong>posite underground piping system constructed for use in both gravity and pressure applications. They consist of a thermosetting chemical resistant polyester resin, fiberglass reinforcements and silica sand. Pipes are available in gravity (G) 75, 100, 150, 200 and 250 psig pressure classes. Higher pressure classes* are available. The standard jointing system is a double socket FRP coupling joint with two Reka rubber gaskets. Pipe stiffness (SN) can be 18, 36, 46 and 72 psi. Nominal pipe diameters (DN) are from 16” through 158”. * High pressure designs up to 350 psig are available for sizes up to 94”.
Construction USE AND APPLICATION Construction Fiberstrong FRP pipe is a filament wound, corrosion resistant <strong>com</strong>posite laminate manufactured from thermosetting polyester resin, fiberglass filament windings, fiberglass chopped roving, and finely graded pure silica sand. The pipe consists of a resin-rich reinforced liner, structural walls, a stiffness core and a resin rich exterior layer. Chemical resistant ‘C’ glass mat or veil is used in all surface reinforcements.
