YOU ARE NOT YOUR BODY Sherry Harris, MSW, RSW, CHt, LM You are not your body any more than you are your thoughts, any more than you are your feelings. You are not your body any more than you are the clothes you wear or the home you live in. You are Spirit having an imaginary bodily experience. You are consciousness, pure and unadulterated. No matter what you have endured in this life your consciousness is radiant and pure. You are an enlightened being who chose to come into this incarnation to play the game of remembering who you really are: Divinity, God's extension of Love in the physical. Little did you know how difficult it would be to let go of all the conditioning you would be exposed to as you made your way in this world. Little did you know how little support you would find along the way and how hard it would be to finally chose to look inside yourself for what you needed. If you had known how hard it would be to remember the Truth of Who you are, do you still think you would have chosen to go through the veil of forgetfulness? I think we would have taken the plunge anyway being the courageous souls we are. So why did we leave the comfort of God's Loving <strong>Presence</strong> to come down here and go through this challenging and complicated journey? Is it possible we were bored and simply needed a good challenge to remind us of our grandness? Possibly. Who really knows why we did it, we just did and now we have to make the best of it. At the ripe young age of 65, I am finally getting it. I am beginning to know who I am, a divine aspect of God, a glorious soul here to bring God's Love into the physical where it is sorely needed. I would like to reiterate the word beginning, as I am at the beginning of a very long and lovely journey of remembering the immensity of my light, love, and creative brilliance. I am often reminded of " All these things ye shall do and more", Jeshua's words to us. He wanted us to know what unlimited, God-filled beings we are. For thousands of years we have lived small, limited versions of ourselves. Being made in God's image speaks www.naturalpresence.ca to me of having the creative gifts of God energy. And those gifts become able to manifest when we remember who we are: God's essence in a physical expression. We are here to be Love, to extend the Love we are in all directions filling this planet with the beauty of our hearts. We are not here to suffer, to judge, to hurt another. We are here to Love. And loving means accepting, without judgment, the choices another soul has made. There are as many ways to wake up to our God-Beingness as there are incarnated souls. Who am I to decide which path Home is better than another? The important thing is all paths lead Home. Some may seem easier than others, some may seem to be taking longer. Whether it appears clear to me or not, all souls who incarnated here chose to come into a body to have the experience of waking up to their divinity. There is no one right way. As I do not know the choice of another soul, it is most certainly not up to me to judge how they will find their way Home. I need only know they will in time, in their own way, with or without my support and understanding. And I know my choices and my journey will not be understood or appreciated by many others. As I choose to support myself with love and wild enthusiasm, I choose also to support all souls in their awakening. Now, saying 'you are not your body' does not give us an excuse to abuse our beautiful bodies in any way. Quite the contrary, they should be treated with the deepest love and respect for the amazing work they do for us. Our body responds to the love we give it, just as a child, a pet, or a beloved friend does. Treat your body like your best friend and watch how it takes care of you to the best of its abilities given the soul choices that have been imprinted onto it. Your body is included in your consciousness, not the opposite as many believe. Our consciousness is so vast it includes our body, our thoughts, our feelings and all our many expressions of personality. It is as unlimited as the cosmos.
