Welcome to the <strong>Gracenote</strong> Logo and Brand <strong>Guide</strong>lines<br />

for <strong>Mobile</strong> Devices and technologies. This guide provides<br />

a framework for consistent application of the <strong>Gracenote</strong><br />

identity.<br />

<strong>Gracenote</strong> requires any company that will be offering<br />

<strong>Gracenote</strong> products and technologies to first enter into an<br />

agreement with <strong>Gracenote</strong> regarding the use of <strong>Gracenote</strong><br />

trademarks. As the <strong>Gracenote</strong> products and technologies<br />

expand to meet the needs of consumers, it is important that<br />

the <strong>Gracenote</strong> brand, including all the elements that make<br />

up the company’s visual identity, remain consistent.<br />

outside of product packaging when third-party technologies and brands, such as Bluetooth,<br />

When using the <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo, the following parameters apply:<br />

The <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should not appear crowded by other<br />

elements, therefore the use of clear space is essential. The<br />

clear space surrounding the <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should be greater<br />

or equal to the height of the logo, except when space does<br />

not permit.<br />

The <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should be printed at a minimum of 20mm<br />

wide. The <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should always be sharp and crisp<br />

whenever reproduced.<br />

The <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should be reproduced as accurately as<br />

possible to the artwork. The red portion of the <strong>Gracenote</strong><br />

logo may be rendered in red, black, or white. The logo can be<br />

reversed as white. The <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should always appear<br />

on a clean, solid background. When placing the logo on an<br />

illustration or photo- graph, make sure the area where the<br />

logo is positioned is as clear as possible from any patterns and<br />

color variations.<br />

identifies music and delivers artist and album<br />

names and licensed Cover Art/Artist Images.<br />

The Powered by <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo must appear<br />

each time the mobile device looks up data<br />

from the <strong>Gracenote</strong> Media Database. The logo<br />

must appear on-screen for at least the first<br />

three (3) seconds of the look-up. However, if<br />

the duration of the look-up does not allow<br />

enough time to display the logo, it may<br />

appear on the results page.<br />

<strong>Gracenote</strong> Entourage and <strong>Gracenote</strong> Video<br />

Explore<br />

<strong>Gracenote</strong> Entourage allows smart phones and<br />

tablets to automatically identify movies, TV<br />

programs and music in real time by simply<br />

“listening” to short sound clips. The Powered<br />

by <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo must appear each time the<br />

mobile device looks up data from the <strong>Gracenote</strong><br />

Media Database. The logo must appear<br />

on-screen for at least the first three (3)<br />

seconds of the look-up. However, if the<br />

duration of the look-up does not allow<br />

altered in any way. They should never be used as part of any<br />

other symbol or logotype.<br />

Do not scale inappropriately, rotate, use incorrect colors,<br />

rearrange or add additional elements.<br />

When logos of third-party companies (or technologies belonging<br />

to third-party companies) are displayed, the <strong>Gracenote</strong> or<br />

Powered by <strong>Gracenote</strong> logo should be displayed with equal<br />

prominence to the other third-party logos.<br />

All logos must have the ® symbol on the lower right hand side.<br />

This mark is provided with the logo artwork. When scaling the<br />

logo, the size of the ® symbol may need to be adjusted.<br />
