For over fifty years, Burt Reynolds has<br />

enjoyed enormous success as an actor and<br />

director in films, on stage and in television.<br />

Mr. Reynolds is an Academy Award<br />

nominee and a Golden Globe winner for his<br />

brilliant work in Boogey Nights. He was<br />

honored by The New York Film Critics, the<br />

Chicago Film Critics and the National<br />

Society of Film Critics with Best Supporting<br />

Actor awards for his memorable role as<br />

Jack Horner in that film.<br />

Burt Reynolds earned a star on the<br />

Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1978. He has<br />

been awarded an Emmy for Outstanding<br />

Lead Actor in a Series (Evening<br />

Shade/1991), a Golden Globe for Best<br />

Performance by an Actor (Evening<br />

Shade/1992) and nine People’s Choice<br />

Awards – just to name a few. In 1978 and<br />

1980, Burt Reynolds was Male Star of the<br />

Year for the National Association of<br />

Theater Owners. For five years in a row, the<br />

People’s Choice Awards honored him as<br />

America’s Favorite All Around Motion<br />

Picture Actor – a record no one else has<br />

ever achieved.<br />

Monday – Teleprompter: A Tool for the Actor<br />

and Business Professional w/Patty Serrano<br />

This six week course provides an opportunity to learn<br />

and grow comfortable with the use of teleprompters.<br />

Included will be host, technique, cold read<br />

preparation, walk and talk, ad lib and on the set dos<br />

and don’ts. If public speaking gives you the jitters,<br />

this course will calm your nerves.<br />

Tuesday – Screenwriting 101 w/Frank Eberling<br />

Screenwriting 101 is a six week course that explores<br />

the fundamentals of screenwriting for today's films.<br />

The course will cover basic storytelling, an<br />

exploration of screenplay structure, plot<br />

development, character creation and dialogue as well<br />

as standard formatting rules. Emphasis will be<br />

placed on meeting ACT 1 requirements, pitching<br />

your story concept, and avoiding common rookie<br />

pitfalls.<br />

Wednesday – Improv 101+ w/T. Vittum<br />

Tired of tripping over your own feet when you walk<br />

into a room? Would you like to the life of the party?<br />

Perhaps your sales pitch and presentation skills could<br />

use a little tweaking. Maybe you need help staying a<br />

step ahead of the competition. No matter the reason,<br />

you will find what you’re looking for on Wednesday<br />

evenings at BRIFT. Instructor and Master Class actor<br />

Todd Vittum brings his expertise to the classroom,<br />

teaching his students to “think quick” and increase<br />

their self-confidence. The class is ongoing.<br />

Friday - Morning Musings at the Museum w/Frank<br />

Eberling<br />

Coconut Ink is a six week examination of almost<br />

sixty Florida writers since the late 1700s to the<br />

present day including biographical information, their<br />

impact on perceptions of Florida, their literary<br />

legacies, biographical filmed documentaries and<br />

videotaped interviews produced by Frank Eberling.<br />

$10/class - $15/couple<br />

What Has Hollywood Done to My Florida<br />

Stories? is a four week look into how Hollywood<br />

has adapted the stories and novels of Florida into<br />

films. The course includes clips of films and<br />

discussions on adaptation process.<br />

Improv for Young Actors offers the same “think on<br />

your feet” training available to adults – but geared for<br />

Sunday those 12 – Fundamentals – 17 years of Acting age. A w/S. guaranteed Roberts selfconfidence<br />

booster. The class is ongoing.<br />

$10/class @ 10 am<br />

Sunday – Fundamentals of Acting w/S. Roberts<br />

Fundamentals $10/class – 10 of am Acting to noon is open to all performers but is<br />

especially beneficial to novice actors wishing to learn<br />

and perfect the finer points of theatrical technique.<br />

Course includes an introduction to the rehearsal<br />

process, play scripts, scenes, staging and performance.<br />

The class is ongoing.<br />
