Monroe County Sheriff’s Office - Rap Sheet
Sector Seven Report

Wow, looks like I have some really
old info since our last rap sheet but I
don’t want to forget anyone or leave
anything out. Just an example of how
long it’s been since the last report,
Robert Dosh was leaving to Iraq in the
last report and will be coming home in
another month or so…. Time flies.
Winter has come and gone, and
as we move into spring we see new
hires, transfers and promotions all
taking place in our agency. Sector 7 is
happy to recognize these accomplishments
with saying howdy to Ralph
Williams who comes from Sector 6 to
become our new Crime Scene Tech.
Congratulations to Iscandel Perez on
his transfer to S.I.D.
Sector 7 had a station party in
February for the officers and families.
We had lots of food, swimming,
camaraderie, and of course volleyball
!! Well I guess it was volleyball…at
Sector 7 station party in February.
least that’s what it started out to be,
however ended up with us all in a giant
sandbox. Thanks to everyone who
participated as we all had fun and the
party was a great time.
Sector 7 also had Ms. Nancy’s
children’s play group come and visit
us, where the kids got to tour the station,
see the Crime Scene Lab and sit
in the police car. The tour ended with
the girls in Records providing them
juice and cookies ( it’s great to load
other parents kids up with sugar, and
then send them home )
The Saint Paddy’s Day Parade in
Key Largo was a success. Thank you
to Lt. Mitch Snider from Sector 1 who
came up to play the bagpipes, and I
think did a good job, but I couldn’t re-

beat with him, using the police cars
siren !! There were a lot of floats, a
few vendors set up and a lot of local
politicians out making the circuit. The
event is set up by local business man
Norman Higgins, and makes it’s way
through the Port Largo subdivision and
ends up back at Key Largo Park.
Great job by Det Jason Madnick
and Dep Lance Hernandez who
caught a burglar in progress while
doing surveillance at Snappers
Restaurant at the 95 mm. The suspect
was seen on the surveillance
camera where Jason was catching
some zzzzz’s ( just kidding) when the
suspect was spotted and the dynamic
duo sprang into action apprehending
the villain !! OUR HEROES. Way to go
guys, great job !!
Congratulations to Greg LaRochelle
on transferring back to Sector 7
Road Patrol. We are glad to have you
back. Congrats are also in order to
Gus Helago on his transfer to Criminal
Investigations for Sector 6 and 7.
Myself ,Dep. Kyle Page, Dep Larry
O’Neill and Sgt Dave Carey all attended
the Rapid Action Tactics ( RAT)
course in Miami, FL in March and
learned a lot. This is a great course
and really helps you with searches
and tactics. I recommend anyone who
can go, to put in for this class. Our
group did pretty good in the paintball
exercise. OK, OK...we did good getting
our equipment on. ( geeez) We hit
the field, took a few steps and were
wiped off the face of the earth. I swear
it wasn’t my fault, I never heard anybody
yell game on. Anyway it was cool
and we made some good contacts.

Our very own Ian Barnett has been
spotted pedaling around town. Ian will
be attending bike patrol school in April
and we have been riding a bit to help
him get ready for this grueling class.
Oh by the way Ian, I’m 45 years old
not 145 as you had embellished to
Sgt. Holroyd when talking about my
fine bike riding skills. I wouldn’t have
fallen if my bike hadn’t been broken,
or you hadn’t pushed me over or if the
rocks weren’t so deep or……
We say good-bye and quick return
to Robert Dosh who has been called
up for service with the Coast Guard,
and is deploying to Iraq in May. Good
luck and be careful Robert.
Lyle Agins is alive and well, thank
goodness, and for those of you who
don’t know what happened, Lyle
thought he was Parnelli Jones and
was racing to the finish line of the
big race. Actually, Lyle tried to stop
a speeder around the 93 mm when
some lunkhead thought it would be
OK to pull into the same lane as Lyle.
Needless to say Lyle struck this guys
car and then began the journey of a
pinball as he careened off another
vehicle in the Elks Club parking lot.
EMS had to cut Lyle’s car apart to get
him out, and then realized that Lyle
always drives from the back seat and
that nothing was wrong with him. Anywhooo
what a great time to practice
using the jaws of life and to cut a car
in half. Lyle who was a real trooper
through it all had only very minor
injuries and was ready to come back
to work within a couple hours. Cooler
heads prevailed and the Captain told
him to just give it another hour and
then get back to his shift….just kiddin.
Lyle is doing good and is being well
taken care of by his lovely fiancé,
Heather !
Congratulations are in order for
Ryan Cowart on his completion of
Drug Recognition Expert school ( this
should be really helpful if you are ever
rolling a doooobie) but seriously I understand
the school was very hard and
Ryan was a star pupil and did very
well. Good Job !!
